Mcintosh, Accuphase, Pass Labs, Levinson, Audio Research, Audia Flight, Classe and a few others. And they all sounded substantially better than when the gear was paired with other speakers.
@@RealHIFIHelp I first heard the Cygnus driven by a pair of Vitus monos. On class A power they sounded extremely good. Also, the Mira IIs on the VAC Statement 450IQ as well. These amps pair well with Class A amps like the Gryphon even Soulution (high bias class A) but I don’t think it is any speaker manufacturer’s intention to make their speakers work well with particular amp, cable or electronics. Some even say the Rockports are not too inspiring enough but I guess it a personal preference.
@@thinaharran I think it is because they use transparant cable inside, and this creates a sort of compatible sound especially with the mid to high class transistor sound, being very forgiving and detailed at the same time. It's a bit like a MIT cable trick, just more natural. Just a theory. The backfiring bass port can also give the bass quite a boost because of wall interaction. And I think that is one of the reasons why it sounded so above normal, like when I heard it on the Audio Flight gear. Yes I heard that VAC make some pretty good sound. I only heard it maybe once or twice, and it sounded pretty darn good VAC. I think that it is just a bit lof luck that Rockport sound good on a lot of gear, that is not really top class. Just a pity the crazy prices that they are asking for Rockport speakers.
@@RealHIFIHelp Will say how Rockport engineers the speakers to sound forgiving on the electronics upstream is indeed impressive. YGs on the other hand, is in the opposite camp.

What have you had driving the Rockports? I agree they don’t sound aggravated- too much detail or resolution just balanced top to down presentation.

@@RealHIFIHelp none of those electronics are good enough for Rockport
