Just had a log burner installed and very excited to get it fired up for the first time. Had it put in last week and have been letting the plaster dry first. Your video is very useful and can't wait to be a log burner owner and inherit everything that comes with it!
I watched the video regarding the heat logs from home bargains. I've stopped buying wood and only buy these now, long burn time, really warm and cheap to buy, best heat logs ever, really appreciate the video, thank you, saved me money in the long run. Keep the videos coming, love em.
Thanks for the video. Another reason for some is the redundancy in a second heat source. If there was ever an issue with my gas central heating/gas supply it’s nice to know the burner would keep the house warm.
I only have a outbacker pro 3.5 kw log burner with oven in my off grid garden house 18 x 10 foot with a twin stove fan on top oven door side works like a blow heater especially when the oven door is open a bit.. This is my wife and mine peacefully retreat. The log fire seriously does help with the calming and relaxation side. You're also right when your out and about picking up free wood from fallen tress and that 👌 😉 .. another advantage of the stove is when you leave the vents open it acts as ventilation, but make sure Ash is cleaned out 😅 as the higer pressure creates a natural flow
@RyansGardenDiaries sounds good 👍 you'll love it done mine like a log cabin a short walk up the garden and it feels like your a world away electric from solar panels for lighting and small electric appliances
@RyansGardenDiaries just had a look, turns out the aspect 14 is a boiler stove, and they apparently are legal, I didn't know that sorry mate. Back boilers (that used to be fitted to any stove) aren't allowed because they were too inefficient apparently.
@@waynelewis5656 hey Wayne no worries at all I'm thinking of the aspect 14 for my other room ya the old back boilers where a bit inefficient weren't they haha
i consider getting a wood burner my best ever home improvement. there's a couple of your points which have been important to me. 1) exercise. I'm fortunate that over the last couple of years I haven't paid for any wood BUT I've had to do a lot of work, building wood stores, collecting wood, processing wood and its been thoroughly good for me. There's stacks of free wood out there, sadly most people are lazy. 2) bills. having a ready supply of free wood means I don't have to think about heating our lounge. unlike gas/electric which I constantly worry about the cost, I don't think twice about burning wood, it's seasoned and hardly gives off any smoke. i would suggest those who have a wood burning stove look into the top down method of starting a fire and if just burning wood look into leaving a bed of ash on the bottom of your fire.
Hey mark thanks for Watching !! sounds like you really enjoy getting out there and getting free would how much wood do you burn in a season roughly ? i always do the top down method :]
@RyansGardenDiaries Thank Ryan and thanks for your great videos, very enjoyable. Hard to say I had 3 woodstores full in October (2 pallets wide x I pallet high) and I've burnt about half of the wood, hopefully should last me until April... i have a bit more I've collected this winter, though ready to burn I'm hopeful this will do for part of the next season. I'm fortunate to have a wood stove friend and we go out collecting in his van... but, as you say, there's so much free wood when you bother to look around. my tip, collect wood in summer when nobody thinking about it and building work is much more likely to be happening. Like, you I love my wood burner and the associated work involved.
Always have our whistler kettle on top, Also cook my fishcakes or fish on top saves on gas, Wouldnt be without ours had for over 14 yrs now semi bungalow, Take care.
Hi mate can I ask what stove you got and the price of it as I’m after 1 but there is that many it’s confusing. I like yours but don’t know if it’s better to buy the stove on its own or buy it in a package with beam and fittings any advice would be appreciated and love your videos
Hey tony thanks for watching !!! Mines a clock blithfield 5 they are around £1500 definitely a higher end stove British made if you buy a package they seem to put the cheaper stoves in these to keep them at an affordable price, I have got a video coming next week about prices fitting ect just to give a more in detail look at costs i know people who have payed 2k all in with stove ect and people who payed 12k so it varies so much depending, best advise is to buy the best stove you can at the start tho :] let me know how you get on :]
@ thanks for the advice very helpful and yes I have noticed with the packaged deals you get the selection of the cheaper end stoves. Definitely made my mind up think I will just get the stove then take it from there at least I will have it then. Thanks for the help and keep up the good work on the videos I really enjoy them 👍
Having a log burner our gas is down to £15 a month and we are still in credit, ok the wood is a bit of expense but as the fire heats up the room quicker and is warmer than central heating so I suppose it averages out but I know what I prefer lol but daughter and son in law live on a farm so he’s now stacking wood from fallen trees so hopefully next year free wood yay result
Hey bob 15 is 15 a month hey thanks for watching i think over time they are a lot cheaper and your warmer for long !!! which is the main thing and we cant take it with us so i dont worry to much no need to be cold in life is there :]
What’s the biggest benefit you’ve experienced from using a log burner?🔥🔥🔥

New installs of Back boilers for heating radiators with stoves haven't been legal in the UK for a few years now.
There is one that came out recently, the aspect 14, which was the newst one I seen :)
