Giving credit, where credit is due all around for the ideas & efforts put into this piece - EPIC sign you are not only artistically talented Andrea, but a person with integrity & class! I love your content, creativity, work ethic, family & seeing such a dynamic wife & husband duo! Beautiful piece!
I absolutely love how much your husband genuinely loves your work and supports your talent. And man-oh-man have you got talent!!!! Incredible team you two are.
Hey Andrea, on your next glass door project, when you install the glass you can use glazing points to hold it in place. But if you want to use clear silicone, buy the caulk squeegee tool to get a perfect caulk line. The little squeegees have several “sized” corners to create just the size caulk like you need. It is a game changer way better than the wet finger method.
I learned a lot of "should haves" with that glass lol! Since I didn't chisel out the corners on the door, I had the glass cut smaller to fit inside the curve (and later found out I could have had them round the corners of the glass), so there was too much of a gap to use the little points instead. It looks great from the outside, but not as clean as I'd like on the inside.
@Taisan Mulan & @*EmpressChe Hiya, I agree, a bench would be good for her & her back! p.s. My niece lives in B.C. & I live about one hour south in Washington. We certainly are fortunate to live in such a beautiful region of the world.
There are firsts and there are FIRSTs. These were epic enough on their own but to have done four plus end with swan dive, SUPERB. DIY WIFE's hubby you are the best cheerleader EVER. And the soundtrack, videography and edits, and knowing the Christmas shirt in a snap would put you over the top, WELL DONE YOU! DIY Wife team you are awesome paired. PS> MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Nice Job! A couple of tips. Small pieces of wood pin nailed would make the glass easier to change. Lots of times when you’re drilling, you get tear out in the back of what you’re drilling. Clamp a piece of wood behind and you’ll get a cleaner drill hole.
This certainly is a showpiece! It is so unique! A beautiful makeover. For it being you first for installing wood & glass, you made it look like you're a seasoned professional, which really isn't that far off!
Andrea, I am so impressed with your creative mind and how your Midas Touch transforms everything into an incredible work of art. Your furniture transformations are better than some items purchased in a store!♥️♥️♥️ You are soooo detailed oriented, giving subscribers like me confidence to attempt diy projects. And can I just say your husband is supportive and wonderful…. HGTV will be calling you in 2022 to include your show on their network. I know God will create this miracle so people around the world can be the recipients of your creative talents. I am so very proud of both you and husband. Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow🙏🏿
I like how all your ideas are in your head. When you show her sitting back just looking at the project. You can almost see your brain going to work. Your so amazing!
Awesome! You just increased the value of that piece by hundreds of dollars. I really like the glass doors; they are beautiful, and also act as mirrors. Can’t wait to see the rest of the makeover.
Jeez this girl can work, shes a rocket! I like how you did the curved arch at the base, it looks good with the units own detailed insert giving it an Art Deco vibe. Well done Andrea, your the bomb that unit is simply elegant❤️
Thank you for showing this! I'm going to update some furniture I've already got and it gives me confidence to see how the process works, including learning as you go. Mistakes don't always ruin a piece, not finishing a piece will always ruin it! Thank you again!
WOWWWW this is my favorite piece! Incredible job Andrea and Dean. Congratulations reaching 100K subscribers sooooo deserving of it and many more. Can't wait to see part 2&3!
I love you guys so much! These were the best outtakes ever. Lol Also, WHAT?!? Such mad skills, Andrea! I don’t know how you let that one go. What a fabulous piece. Love, love love.
Wow ! Covid left me requiring a pacemaker at 31 years old and I'm constantly worried my kids won't be able to get help if something happens ....I've never been more included to purchase from a sponsored ad !! Thank you.
Your artistic eye is amazing! Putting glass in the doors was definitely a great decision! I am awed by creative people and you are very high on my list of such people. Great job and I can't wait to see the finished room!
Your hard work paid off, for sure. That's gorgeous! ❤ I loved listening to y'all chat at the end. I may have thrown away or donated a couple of my hubby's shirts too, through the years. 😬
Incredible Andrea, you're a machine. Nice work Dean on the production, as always. I have to say the multitool notching of the hinges made me cringe, but hey! it worked! Who am I to judge! Well done on another dope piece! Bravo
Love your work! A beautiful piece of furniture. A small suggestion - use small diameter dowel rod or molding to cover the silicon used to install the glass.
This piece turned out beautifully! The addition of the glass doors and the new and clean, stained wood to the inside made such a difference. This piece makes me think of Art Deco designs, like the trim on the drawers. Very nice, and I can’t wait to see the next furniture flip.
Obsessed with the details on those drawers! I thought this piece was beautiful to begin with (minus the apron detail and hardware). As soon as you modified the apron, I thought YES!! Was a little sad that you were going to paint this, but in the end it turned out gorgeous!
Wow! Andrea that was incredible I know you are amazing but this one blew me away. Keep the project coming and we are just patiently waiting. Dean , great editing and you are an amazing husband as well , thank you guys.
Andrea, how do you know how to do all these new things?? You are amazing. I loved the part where Dean walked out in his maroon shirt and rolled-up pajama pants! Y'all are the best!
Nice work! Jigsaws are notorious for wood tear out. If possible, cut with the good side facing down because the blade is cutting on the upstroke. That way any tear out will be on the back of your piece.
Andrea must have a work shop! It makes me so sad to see someone of such talent working on the driveway. Please, you are talented. Build a workshop! You can do it.
Absolutely gorgeous, I love pieces reused and unique you did an awesome job 🤗. I just redid an antique buffet into a kitchen island thru a piece of butcher block on top, pretty obsessed with it looks similar to this piece 🤗💕 good job you guys 💕
Instead of using silicon you could have made a groove for the glass and just slide it from the top of the cabinet door and it would look amazing from the inside too but overall that was a great piece and please keep doing your custom base it's amazing and unique and it's like your own signature in pieces like this
Amazing work! You have the talent and the eye for turning nothing into something beautiful. I would use glazier points instead of silicone to stabilize the glass, but all in all, this by far exceeded my imagination. Perfect 👌
This is the coolest and most exciting thing I’ve seen! Thank you for teaching us as you learn! Absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see the rest!! What a fun video- I can’t wait to see all that you guys do!! This is just the beginning 🙌🔥
My mother had this exact buffet (also the matching dining room table and chairs). The handles on yours have been replaced. I believe the originals were metal with an inset of deep red Bakelite which are still on my mothers piece. 🥰
You two are so funny! I think the past-serious part at the end is the best one yet. Thank you for being goofy, funny and for giving me a laugh today! And yes, this piece is GORGEOUS!!
Turned out really nice! I agree with John, below, about the caulk line. Very tricky. To save $$ on glass, hunt around for old houses getting rehabbed and ask the demo guys if there are any storm windows that they're throwing out (without panes). I've got a couple stored in my garage for future framed art projects. Saves $$! You can have it cut by Lowes! Or HD I think. Good job! I liked the original drawer pulls and would have like to have seen those put back on the piece for a pop of old!
I really want to start repurposing furniture, I accumulated a lot over the years t for the purpose of flipping. Watching your videos really inspired me 😊. Should I start off just using chaulk paint?
I absolutely love your channel and your husband makes watching them extra special. Quick question - do you ever use milk paint for any of your projects?
Wifey that cabinet is fire! I sense your hubby thinks you're awesome and I concur.
Already Doing your own commercials 💡 So smart! Can’t skip that endowment commercial. 😂

@Heidi Barrett Beautifully said... my thoughts exactly!!
I was never for black furniture but with these new fandangled company's the color is great .❤

What a beauty, this one is. So classy, so elegant. Your friend is very lucky, Andrea.
Everytime I see Andrea working on the ground, I think, 'She needs a workbench!!' Love from BC, Canada!!
Same! And also from BC! :)

Proud of you. Never would have thought it up and carried it out. Stay well ,all .

Love the look of those drawers. Awesome job!
OK Dean, PLEASE get this girl a workshop!!
I absolutely LOVE it! The glass fronts give it an updated but still classic look!
Of course, I always love the makeovers. But I also love your out-takes. You two crack me up.

Love your work! A beautiful piece of furniture. A small suggestion - use small diameter dowel rod or molding to cover the silicon used to install the glass.
Yes, nice makeover, tho the tacky silicone on the glass? Just no. Kind of ruins the sleek image.
This piece turned out beautifully! The addition of the glass doors and the new and clean, stained wood to the inside made such a difference. This piece makes me think of Art Deco designs, like the trim on the drawers. Very nice, and I can’t wait to see the next furniture flip.

Thank you!
Loved the video edits. “2nd coat” in the drawer hole was a nice touch.
I love your outtakes! They are so cute and shows as what great relationship you both have. Another great project and the outcome is fabulous!
Amazing. It's the next level. I am impressed how you can handle the router. So easy to lose control of that thing. Congrats
Thank you! I was definitely holding on for dear life haha
@@diywife lol. You make it look easy😁
Incredible!! Also came at the perfect time as I'll be building a small display case for a client and will be installing glass in the door.
You seriously have mad skills! It doesn’t even look like the same piece. Outstanding work and talent❤️
Started watching your channel and am truly amazed and in awe of Andreas' skills. Your biggest fan from South Africa xx
What a difference! I love it
Nice work! Jigsaws are notorious for wood tear out. If possible, cut with the good side facing down because the blade is cutting on the upstroke. That way any tear out will be on the back of your piece.
love your creations, just so amazing! I swear you are my favorite youtube channel for far!
