Glad to see an episode like this. I too went through a divorce with a baby who hadn’t reached one years old. Credit was low, had 6-figure debt and was struggling. Now my daughter is older, credit score is 824, paid off 6-figure debt, building wealth and am thriving. I’m so very grateful to God.🙏🏾❤️

I’m a little disheartened to hear that she’s now happily divorced.
I’m starting to wonder why is it that when black women become quote unquote “successful” their marriages fail? I don’t know all the details but aside from abuse and adultery where are we finding it biblical to divorce? Why can’t we find a way to make marriage work as hard as we work to build a business? Why is building a successful sustainable marriage and family not as important as building a platform?
Why is it that black women succumb to their ego at the demise of their marriage?
I’m finding that a lot of black women LOVE to use God but deep down all along God is no where in it.
God hates pride. The Bible says pride comes before a fall. God humbles the proud.
I even understand being married and young but shouldn’t the goal be to grow together versus grow apart.
I believe “success”is misleading and deceiving. Money alone does not equate true success.
It’s the LOVE of money 💰 that seems to become the primary goal. Material things does not mean God has blessed us. It’s but for His grace and mercy that we even live and breathe.
I wish you would have more successful black couples, not single black women singing I’m black. I’m divorced. I’m now single and I’m proud. Whether we need a man or not, it reeks of it’s ALL about me now and it’s ok to neglect my home.
The Bible says “A wise woman builds her home. A foolish one tears hers down with her own hands.
If black women are getting divorced and only dating and sleeping around, that’s not a come up. That’s not leveling up. It’s leveling down. Some of us are too old (in our 40’s and 50’s) to be reverting back to old ways. That’s not progression. That’s regression.
It’s a dangerous and damaging message to the young women coming behind us.

I agree with you, but also if you marry the "wrong" partner, it will never work. I was married to a man who was intimated by my success and abused me financiall. He refused to work, support me or celebrate me. Instead he lived off me, tore me down and mentally abused me, making me feel obligated to hand over my money . I had very big dreams and he called me a dreamer who lived in fantasy land, yet refused to pay bills in 5 years and was cheating every where. HE WAS A HINDRANCE TO MY MIND AND SPIRIT.

I understand that she did what she had to do for herself. Her relationship is her relationship. Not everyone’s relationship is the same. The vows was for Better or Worse, not just Better. If that man is not beating you up, focus on you and your family. Just because she decided to get divorced doesn’t mean you have to get divorced too or it’s ok to leave your marriage too. Pray and God will lead you. In every relationship we go through ups and downs. I don’t believe God tells anyone to get divorced except for the reasons he says in the Bible. She hasn’t said WHY she decided to get a divorce. I work in the family law industry. Divorce is not always the answer. She may be well in public. We don’t know how she is in private. Remember, Money isn’t everything. She doesn’t have a husband anymore. So, she can put her ALL into her business and make the money and grow her business. She says she is wife material. Yet, soon afterwards she says she feels it’s fine to live like Oprah and Steadman. First off, no one really knows if Oprah and Steadman are not married. They could have done like Janet Jackson and be married in secret so the public can stay out of their business. So, she sounds good if you don’t really “hear” her. But, it seems she is not fully whole yet. She is speaking from a hurtful experience. She’s not healed at all. Anthony doesn’t even seem comfortable speaking to her about relationships.

Most women don't NEED a man, but a lot of us definitely WANT a man.
We want the man to lead.
    We don't mind being submissive.
We want a man that handles his business, that's confident, and knows his purpose.
And for me personally, give me a man who follows God, because then I'll know he'll lead us in the right direction.
    Great Episode!

Not all men can lead according to how they've been raised. Men or women should not be put in a box. When you find one and are happy with each other, grow together.

      @fabulousswag6683 ปีที่แล้ว

"Most women don't NEED a man,but a lot of us definitely WANT a man".
This mindset is a set up for self sabotage, cuz it is founded on lies and self denial.
This is a pertinent question you should ask your own self.
When you as a female refers to your SELF, what gender do you think the source of your female projection is based upon?
The female nature was given the host of the primary agency of power in nature and equipped with the strategy of hypergamy to do what in and for nature(self).

The societal pressures of "you can't survive without no man" and my pride... I wanted to prove them wrong. It is more about pride than anything. The fear of vulnerability. I love you Anthony, but your focus on the "booty" is hurting you 🤣. I see this occurring where guys have a "type" for looks and zoom in on that of course and then when the real standards they want comes into play the person doesn't meet them. So then it's back to drawing board. Then with some men and also women it becomes well there are no good women/guys out there. Yes there are it's just that some people are hyperfocused on looks first. And seems like Patrice is finding her way in dating scene so if she wants to have height preferences then whatever. I'm sure she will see that is not everything either.

Wait, she ain't married no more? Ngl we got a problem with relationships in our community. I can bet she initiated the divorce. There appears to be absolutely no model of a proper lasting relationship and family in our community, the single mother epidemic is outta control, from the hood to the well educated. Unfortunately the church isn't even exempt from this. Recently saw Marriage and the marketplace by Sarah Jakes, and realized everyone speaking was already on their second marriage, if it even remains that way. It's good to listen to these folks about other stuff, but definitely not about relationships or family 😒.

I LOVE Patrice! Those 6 Pillars are everything. And I feel her about the height preference. Um, I’m 5’10 barefoot as well. Dude has to be 6’3 minimum. Lol I need someone who can see over the steering wheel AND whose shirts/sweaters fit me like an oversized mini dress. Folks just don’t understand.

Patrice is so great! So inspiring to all black women. She is so confident is contagious. Amazing human being. She is not all about money. I hope God bless her with an incredible husband. …
    Great show

I think that Patrice wanting someone a few inches taller than her isn’t a high expectation at all as long as it is not something abstronomicaI.kind of think it’s unfair for Anthony to say he wants the booty if he’s using the argument that you can miss out on someone great for having that preference🤷🏽‍♀️ 33:52

Patrice youre my new role model 🙌🏼 beautiful inside and out and I get the feeling you bring that optimism and resilience where ever you go👌🏼💗 I need to surround myself with people like you
I gotta say it... You two would be a powerful force together! Seems like you are well suited and neither would out shine the other; both driven and secure, got your own things that do alot of good, I cant imagine the impact could be... Just sayin
If theres a small height difference but only when a womans got heels on, it was only something that I thought of briefly/in the first few months into the relationship but never beyond the thought crossing my mind even at the beginning. Photos didnt look bad, didnt look obvious or stick out, and it didn't bug (my) Anthony cause he loved when I wore heels... Without heels I was shorter than him, I just love me my tall Louboutins. atleast in my experience far as our height difference went

I was so blessed by your first interview with Patrice. I believe she was still married at the time and shared her story about her financial journey before starting her podcast. I also enjoyed this interview and seeing that she is still on her personal growth journey. Thank you for another awesome interview.

This is the same woman that was in another interview talking about her ex-husband didn't do anything wrong. She literally said he had the intent to love her but not the capacity. She was basically looking for a fairy tale marriage and looks like she's still looking. This woman is crazy and delusional. She ran to the streets and realized they don't want her.

I want to see a woman that has built success in the midst of marriage and kept their commitment to it and the person they committed to. No shade to her and the decision she feels she had to make, but it seems to be so predictable now where women who are building and reach a certain "celebrity " (because if we're being honest, it's not just the wealth) that they'll be divorced in their 40s

As listen to Patrice, I feel like she is telling my story!! Stayed in a 19 to 20 year marriage since the age of 21 to now (I'm 42) Still waiting for the divorce to wrap up since he is not giving anything to his children financially. God is showing me creative ways to make an income. I'm going through the process still and have started my own podcast as well. My peace is more important than appearances. God has promised me restoration, and I am thankful!!

I’m probably gonna get in trouble for saying this and I don’t have anything to gain or lose so hear goes:
What I just heard was someone saying that they got better than their husband and justifying it by using the word of God. It also sounds like she couldn’t SUBMIT to her husband anymore and used her financial gain to justify it.

I found Patrice when I was looking for examples of successful divorced, thriving black women, who are desiring the companion God has for them.
I’m so empowered by today’s topic and conversation that I’m hitting the ground running. Patrice thank you…. I’m right behind you … moving into that thriving and arriving position…letting God remove things from me and my life that are unnecessary….
In order to bring me into my next and welcome that financially fit, willing to love and work on himself and more man that is made for me.
