Honestly couldn't care less about the visuals of this movie...because it's really the really *good performances* the cast gave that really made _Doctor Strange_ so enjoyable. (That and the Cloak which was basically the MCU's version of Aladdin's Flying Carpet)

I liked the villain too. Sure he could have benefitted from more screen time, but I thought Mads did good with what he was given. I like how he can play a dangerous character in more subtle ways. Plus that wind blade thing he was using was pretty badass.
I liked him, his motivation for doing all his stuff felt rather different than the other movies since he seemed to wholly belive that he was doing the right thing for the world. Bit of a nice switch from either power hungry, vengeance, or pure evil.

My grandmother has rolled her eyes at every super hero movie to come out since ironman 2, saying they are overused, there's too many of them. BUT. she absolutely LOVED this movie, she was all for it, probably originally for Bender Cumberbund, but as the credits came on, I let her know what marvel does, and she got excited, saw the extra scene and turned to me and said "I guess I have a few years of super hero movies to watch if I'm going to see the next one..." And now she wants to marathon marvel movies with me.
My entire theatre also gasped when he was yelling at Rachel McAdams hehe. I gotta say I also really appreciated the use of Interstellar Overdrive, from Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd 😍
I love that magic is officially in the MCU. Do any of you think there is a possibility of eventually seeing Wiccan and the young Avengers? I think they could and it would work in the aftermath of Infinity War where whatever happens to the Avengers and other heroes that young mutants, aliens, time travelers and magic users to band together to protect the Earth while the remaining Avengers recoperate and grieve etc. What do you think? Also, you guys need to talk about Young Justice getting a season 3.
The illustrator steve ditko loved the series cause he was able to create backgrounds really quickly cause the astral plane doesn't have to follow logic and Ditko was very good at surrealist backgrounds.
I'll preface this by saying I am a diehard Dr. Strange fan. He's my favorite superhero and I'm happy we're seeing a good live action movie on the big screen. My verdict is I really do like this film. But it does have its problems. Aside from the typical problems with the MCU, weak antagonists, cookie cutter plot, one the nose humor; the magic I had an issue with. Before anyone leaps down my throat, visually it and the movie with the effects looked GORGEOUS. But I wanted to see a bit more mystical bolts being tossed interwoven with martial arts. Also, I wanted Strange to say his alliteration. It's stupid and goofy, but it's a part of the character. The other issue I had was that the movie felt a bit rushed. Strange's training, while those scenes were great, I wanted to see Strange train more. It felt like he earned his powers too quickly. Finally, I wanted to see more trippiness/ the dimensions. But the stuff that worked for me was Stephen Strange. Despite not showing off enough arrogance, Cumberbatch is fantastic as Stephen Strange. That scene in his loft and the climax when I saw those, I was like "That is Stephen Strange". He's powerful, but he utilizes his wit and intelligence more often. The rest of the cast was excellent in performances and character arcs. And I loved the easter eggs/ credit scenes. Overall, I really do love this movie. It's easily in my top five favorite MCU films and favorite origin. It has its problems as I mentioned, but again it's because of me and loving this character. Overall, I'd give this film an eight out of ten, just because of the climax and the strong characterization/ visuals. It is a great film.
As someone who hasn't read the comics, I think that they did well showing his arrogance and God complex in the first half of the movie. I would agree on the magic though, it definitely needed some cooler fighting and other stuff. Otherwise, I understand why they took away from the training to add more combat and universe expansion, but the training felt really rushed and there was no real explanation for why he is able to progress so quickly. But boy was this movie cool.
Well, I felt that his photographic memory was a big contributing factor to him learning so quick, but yeah I guess we could have used a bit more elaboration as to why specifically he was so much better tahn everyone else, other than just being very intelligent and he's aforementioned photographic memory.

Naw, man. Ghostbusters 2016 was simply awful. This is going to sound a bit harsh, but their (AComics) review had the consistency of dishwater. It was safe, I guess, considering the mayhem surrounding anyone who was talking about it. They refused to delve into a real critique in the way I usually expect from the critics. That's why I'm disappointed.
Aiyanna would have used the time turner to take extra classes. I would have used it to go home and take a nap. At least until I got to grad school when I would have used it at conventions to see more talks.

It felt like he was trying too hard to sound American, which is odd because he does fantastic impressions of American celebrities. That's just being nitpicky though. It doesn't interfere with the story at all. I find myself becoming bored sometimes in the middle of Marvel movies, but this one was enjoyable from start to finish. Definitely in my top 5 favorites.

The "Ask me about my feminist agenda" T-shirt is cringe worthy. That comic was weak and the author couldn't take criticism regarding her book so she tried to cry sexist. If you're a mediocre writer who only uses the platform they've been given to project their personal agendas don't be surprised if people have something to say about that. I'm not endorsing legitimate harassment, but as far as evidence is concerned she was not harassed.
I think everyone is forgetting that Doctor strange is probably one of the lamest super heroes in the marvel universe, I haven't seen the movie yet but I wonder how hey could somehow make him seem like a good let alone decent hero

In all honesty I thought this was one of the weakest marvel movies. Has pretty effects, but that's it.
the movie was boring. visuals were good but at times I got lost onto what was going on. The twist was lame, action was lame, romcom feel and sense of humour. Dr strange did great as a character i loved him didn't care for the rest

The "Ask me about my feminist agenda" T-shirt is cringe worthy. That comic was weak and the author couldn't take criticism regarding her book so she tried to cry sexist. If you're a mediocre writer who only uses the platform they've been given to project their personal agendas don't be surprised if people have something to say about that. I'm not endorsing legitimate harassment, but as far as evidence is concerned she was not harassed.

I think everyone is forgetting that Doctor strange is probably one of the lamest super heroes in the marvel universe, I haven't seen the movie yet but I wonder how hey could somehow make him seem like a good let alone decent hero
