He just looks like he was born to be a flautist, doesn't he? I know an enormous amount of hard graft has gone into giving that impression, but at the same time, his energy and his musicality - he is the first person to persuade me to listen to that piece in about 20 years.

    This is amazing!
So many people made complaints about his fingers being high and away from the keys; but, the thing is, THERE’S NO PERSON, ANYONE HAS TO FOLLOW IN ORDER TO BE GOOD AT WHAT THEY’RE DOING!
Everyone style is different. Every star differeth in glory. One star cannot tell the other one to shine like him, or you’re not shining bright like me, you have to shine bright like me.... etc! No! You can’t!
Everyone is unique, everyone has their own way in getting the job done. Though there are foundation fundamentals that one must abide by, but still, they can accomplish that in their own gifted way.
I LOVE this flute solo. Was amazing! What a gifted young man! 👍🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

all the comments about finger positions remind me about an elementary student visiting a university mathematics professor who was dealing with very complex equation. the elementary student said the professor was wrong with numbers, because there were x, y, z along with some other alphabets in the equation. the student kept saying " you can't put alphabets with numbers, they belong to english class! i learned math and i know all the numbers 1 to 10."
ah the blissful ignorance of childhood. life is simple and sweet for them. some people just don't grow out of the innocence when they physically age.

revisiting this page again👍 And this time I heard some tones ending/handling with a bit baroque texture, simple warm and comfy.
I feel this is his signature sound which can be found in later performances, comparing to other top-tier flutists' luxurious tones.

I really enjoy how lightly and playfully he plays, its a really nice thing to see that in such a young flutists now a days, his playing style reminds me of Pahud, even his fingers flying away from the keys. It obviously doesnt take away from the performance and he plays it as clean as I've heard it. Bravo!

The critics who worry about whether his fingers are too far away from the keys are pedantic , nit -picking and fastidious.
Surely , with his technique, proficiency and tonal quality, he gives an excellent performance of this beautiful Mozart’s

It's always a question of taste: Some flutists say you should move a lot, some say you shouldn't move at all. As a flutist myself I can say that there's not really a wrong or right, you just shouldn't overdo it.
And in this case, it's also unique: He moves is fingers far away from the keys, but he his playing the fast notes anyway and can move his fingers well. He is first flute of the Berlin Konzerthausorchester
There are multiple examples: Some flutists don't have straight embrochure but still play with beautiful tone.
James Galway's wife has the worst playing posture I have ever seen. But regardless of that she still plays great.
So although you might have a way of playing that isn't usual. As far as it doesn't stop you from playing as well as you normally do, just do it.
