    I've used these for 7 years now. Sound better than when I bought them, just need to buy a new cable cause it's starting to tear a bit. Still though, 7 years and these are amazing. Listen to alot of hip hop, ambient, rock, classic, opera, jazz, talk etc. Works great for all genres. I even used these for PC gaming, fps games etc. Works great on high level :-)
    I think these sound very natural, more bass would just be wrong. (Like Beats)

      I have some closed hd 569 . there is not very loud bass. But you can hear all the levels of bass clearly. My ears love sennheiser!

      @davidb2885 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Sennheiser 25 is very noticeably more quiet in the deep bass region. But maybe it's just that my ears are especially bad down there. But I'm not sure that's the explanation as I'm young.

      can you actually replace the cable?

    • @potty74
      @potty74 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Filipmalek1 All parts are replaceable on these, I just replaced my curly cable for another curly cable by MIAYAYA for £13.99 from Amazon, the original from Sennheiser costs £40. Works perfectly & even looks & feels better as it's a Matt the cable is slightly thinner making it lighter when wearing them.

    I've had HD 25 II's since 08 and they still look n sound like new, the tight pressure relaxes over time and you can wear them for hours n hours without ever feeling like you've got headphones on. Yes he's right about the sound, it's pretty natural and they are great for DJing
    Not only will you see alot of DJs wearing them but sports broadcasters too
    Forget beats!

  • @zagyex

    I have been using the same HD25-II *daily for 12 years now* I have replaced the ear pads (you can buy supplies). It works perfectly.
    Probably these will last longer than me... I have tortured the wire with chair legs many times, nothing happened. And if something happens, you can order a wire only.
    I wear them at work every day all day. The best thing about them though is not durability, but the weight. They are very light so it is comfortable to wear them. But probably my head shape already adjusted to them.
    - Despite the lightweightness they are extremely well isolated - no sound goes *out* so I used them in studio when recording instruments.
    - Sound quality is very good - maybe not audiophile but honest and listenable for days.
    Best headphones IMHO ever. Really

    I still have mine HD 25 -1 since the year 2000 and still rocking . Only had to change the audio cable once and the ear pad once as well. For me the best DJ headphones ever produce.

    For less then $200 or somewhere about that price point you can enjoy all the music you already own as you have never before. So if you like music, just buy the Sennheiser HD25 II.
    I have the HD25 II (so not the HD25-1 II) and I have been using these for 4 years and I recommend them to everyone!
    The sound definition is awesome, you really hear more detail in music that you just don't hear with cheaper headphones. I always say that these headphones are for music lovers that want to hear more definition in the music, not just more bass or treble.
    Everyone is talking about booming bass sounds and punchy highs in a headphone.... This is not what you want, you want a balanced sound with a lot of detail. This detail is what makes music sound better on headphones, hi-fi speaker or studio monitors. Think of it as music is a blu-ray movie, but right now you are watching it on a old tv-monitor(crappy headphones). there is a lot of detail in the blu-ray movie that you can't see on your old tv-monitor because the monitor can't display it properly. A HD-TV can display this, so just buy a HD-TV already.

      i bought the Sennheiser Amperior (upgraded version of HD25-1 II)

    • @PTWise
      @PTWise 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Made1nGreece mate it's not a upgrade tbh, actually they have less ohm.. the 1 II have 72ohm, amperior has 18 or 32 ohm i believe

    • @Made1nGreece
      @Made1nGreece 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** its 18ohm to be used without an amp. 1 II are 70ohm so you need amp. and cause its less ohm doesn't mean its not upgrade. this is an upgrade too since you won't need to carry an amp when you use your phone. and Amperior are better than 1 II in sound quality. another upgrade

      From the Sennheiser site
      "HD 25 II Article No. 502105
      As HD 25-1 II, but with 2m steel cable and straight jack plug "
      On the side of your headphones, does it say HD 25-1 II or HD 25 II(not sure if this should be different), have you a 2 meter cable, if it's a 3 meter cable with straight plug then you might have the 600 ohm version ?

  • @Topbuzzr
    @Topbuzzr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, As a Dj since the early 2000's I have owned these headphones Smashed them up and rebuilt them. I actually have a pair on listening to this video. The main reason they are the standard in my opinion is 70 ohms. When your in a club and the music is loud, also you have monitor speakers in the booth you need to turn your phones up. Most headphones are around 30 ohms and they burn out. I have had these drivers on my current pair for about 10 years plus now.

    as an audio engineer I LOVE my HD25s, but as a consumer I might want something with a bit more low-mid to low weight, such as JBL Synchros (although the JBL active headphones are great with the active turned OFF lol) or Sony MDR Z7 (they still make nice cans).

  • @Chris-hi6ut
    @Chris-hi6ut 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Best headphones I've owned. huge difference compared to the regular earphones that come with the iphone. Got the he400i and those can't compete with these at all especially in the bass department. These cans have bass slam thats lacking in every open back headphone. The bass is big and yet clean with hardly any distortion, makes listening to any music really fun. A lot of the higher end stuff doesn't sound any cleaner and lacks balls and punch that these provide.

  • @sokosoul

    They're not really studio headphones, there are better choices for that. That being said, they are excellent DJ headphones and really good for allround use. I use mine daily for really any purpose (at home connected to the amp I hooked to my PC, DJing, for train rides etc.). They are also the #1 choice for professionals, whenever you see a TV crew there is a 99% chance the sound guy is wearing these. They are extremely durable, and even if something breaks somehow there is replacement parts available. You could theoretically buy an entire unit in spare parts and assemble it yourself.

    your referring to the noise cancellation ( it cancels out the ambient noise by playing it at a negative frequency) through a small( or multiple ) mics inside or outside the headphones to cancel out noise

  • @melvinvermeeren
    @melvinvermeeren 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know if it's just me, but when I tried QC15s I heard this really annoying high-pitched sound and it gave gave me a headache within a minute.
    But I was referring to their speakers mostly, ANC headphones aren't really necessary in regular consumer applications imo. Like in the bus or on the train. A good closed can can block out most of that too. ANC is mostly for aircraft and serious applications if you ask me.

    These old HD25-1 from the 90's are the best ones, double the price as the new HD25 ! The new HD25 post 2000 are not the same, different speaker ratings to the old one's !
    So if you have the old 90's HD25-1 you lucky to have the best ones !✌

    If you hear more bassy songs I'd recommend the Tma 1's but if you are looking for more detail in the other areas, mids and highs get the sennheisers. Either way, both are great !

    Well, my ears can still hear very high frequencies that most other people don't hear. Old TV going on, PC's power supply meeting the end of its life, etc. But really, a good closed headphone will also be very isolating once you start playing the music back and no messing around with batteries and much better sound quality as well. Even better get some good IEMs!

    if you really want to cut out noise, look at some iem (in ear monitors/earphones). those actually isolate ambient noise the most without using 1) Batteries 2) don't interfere with the natural sound--> listened to the qc15s... adds an artificial layer to the music... not my cup of tea..... Plus most noise cancelling headphones sound pretty bad (some exceptions of course) qc15 is on the top of that list(good sounding ac headphones i mean)
