I do not regret getting this watch instead of the reverso tribute. It is a thing of beauty and is surprisingly very versatile since all you need is to change the strap and you get a completely different watch.
The JLC Master Ultra Thin is still the only expensive watch that I have tried on that felt truly worth its price tag. I tried on the blue dial with a moonphase and date, and I also tried on the silver dial date only version. I am an enthusiast, but I can't afford luxury watches and certainly not high horology. So I do my best to pay close attention when I have the opportunity to try out watches like that. Tudor, Panerai, Omega, Rolex, Piaget, to name a few big brands, were all more or less dissapointing. But I was blown away by both JLCs. The Piaget was close, though, but that watch is 45k...
@@OneManReviews I had a chance to try on an old Chopard Mille Miglia, and it felt pretty solid. Alpine Eagle and LUC series seem very promising, but I haven't seen one in the metal yet.
@@bertholdbach4959 As I said, I am an enthusiast. I don't wish to own what I cannot afford. There is no anguish, and I can't let go of something that I'm not attached to in the first place. My most expensive watch is a Seiko SRPD97 (I got it for 30% off), and I am very happy with it.
I agree tbh I like the hour markers and dial design more on the jlc then the Patek, curious if they will make the blue dial on the 36mm version. But plan to get this, this year or next.
Beautiful pictures about a dream watch. We complain about JLC's price increases, but we always forget that it is one of the big brands. So we could constantly be annoyed about the prices of watches. But it makes little sense. I own this exact watch, as well as the Polaris, and when I have it on my arm, I feel sublime every time. I can't really describe this pleasant feeling, but I don't get that with many other brands. Of course a Master Thin Moon is no better than a Calatrava, but it is in the same league. It doesn't always have to be a precious metal case, and white gold doesn't have a very different character than steel.
I owned this for about a year and I do not regret selling this and getting a 6119G Calatrava. It’s very nice don’t get me wrong, but it comes with some quirks- the ceramic rotor was annoyingly loud, finishing on the crown was sharp and the movement had a bit of “back” play. (when you wind back, the second hand moves back by a bit as well.), and reading the date was a bit of a chore sometimes. Yes these are small niggles but when you pay that much for a watch, especially as an enthusiast, I get to nitpick.
Your Calatrava must have cost alot more than the JLC. £11,400 vs £27,500. Would you say, in your own opinion, that the Calatrava was worth the price difference?
My grail watch has been a PP 6119G for some time. When I finally had the opportunity to buy one, I simply could not pull the trigger. Don't get me wrong, it is utterly beautiful. But somehow it did not feel special enough as a PP should. I also found it uncomfortably flat on the wrist. When I held and wore the JLC it was instant love. The blue sunburst dial is gorgeous (youtube or images do not do it justice) and the watch seemed more refinedly finished. I am so in love with the watch that every time I am wearing it my wive jokingly asks me for the time. ...But yes, the rotor is ridiculously loud.
@@OneManReviews It is only "fair", if you comapre to the ridicoluos retail price they got. For every normal person this is insane. @@bertholdbach4959 Of course, it's complete nonsense to consider a Quartz watch as a comparable luxury watch. Why do people still buy records today? Well, many watches are beautiful, but also much more expensive. ALS has almost doubled the price of its steel Odysseus and is now around €50k. Badmouthing watches makes little sense, and comparing quartz with manual watch movements makes no sense at all. The real material value is only available for watches up to perhaps around €3k. To be fair, I have to say that if you can own the Master Thin Moon for a longer period of time without any stress, then you will feel something that I can't really describe well.

I think it's a better proposition if compared to a mono Reverso

Chopard is another great brand to see in this price range. I recently did an Alpine Eagle review and was very impressed by the watch.

If you cant affor them then let go. They are not worth the price and all the anguish for you.
LUC is pricey but amazing. The secondary market prices are much better thought.

Super elegant, clean, thin, comfortable, classy. Favorite watch right now.
Jlc ultra thin so underrated competes with patek calatrava
Agree. The Master Ultra Thin is a very solid competitor to Calatrava or Patrimony.

Can't go wrong with JLC. If wanted a dress style watch, that would be it. I have a JLC master chrono diver.
I just have hard time adjusting to their new prices :(
@@OneManReviews What has not gone up in price lately? Seems the norm for 98% of what we purchase these days.

the JLC Master Control Ultra Thin Moonphase is my favorite JLC. If i had the funds, that's the JLC i would get. way better than a reverso.
Depends on a Reverso but I think that Master control is quite underappreciated.
Gorgeous looking watch!
Absolutely 🔥
The gold version Master ultra-thin calendar is amazing over the PP Calatrava
It is great.
That’s a beauty, a very decent man’s accessory/tool..
Hardly a tool but an accessory for sure.
Beautiful timepiece,thanks 👍🏴❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻
It's a gorgeous watch. I think using the tool to change date/Moon phase would bother me in the long run
It's a gorgeous watch indeed. If you would be wearing it in the rotation you wouldn't have to change the date or moon phase.
The trick is, use a toothpick. The AD I bought mine from was the one showing me the "trick" by the way 😄
I’m between this and the VP Fifty-Six in stainless steel.
The Fiftysix is a great everyday luxury watch I would have hard time choosing :)
So very good. Classy.
Agree!
I've got the silver dial version as my first luxury watch 😊
Very nice 👌
I have the instructions i have the Calender which was not in the Instructions but i don’t understand what to do.
Please make a review of the 36mm. So far, no one has reviewed the smaller version.
Would be happy if have a chance to have my hands on one.
I always request to see this watch at my jeweler. One day....
What is the reference number?
It would be a great addition to my Reverso.
Which Reverso do you have?
@@OneManReviews shadow black two hands on brown ostrich leather. I wear it on Christmas day only.

I wish this came in white or yellow gold.
The pink gold version is stunning.
the gold/blue version is the prettiest thing i've ever seen, like ever. check it out.
Просто кайфовые часы.
💯
At 12300 euro, I dont shink so. Even at the secondary market, this watch is far from being obtainable, far from it.
The retail is quite high but on the secondary or grey market, the price is fair for such a high horology watch.
