    I believe it’s the alternative look she has, don’t get me wrong she’s gorgeous but I believe the reason why she gets those looks is because she’s black and alternative.

    Everything she said up to "but that's besides the point" is exactly why she gets the bad attention. Has nothing to do with her being black. LOL!!

    Is it really blackness that caused the issue or are we quick to blame every issue on blackness? I saw a video with a white gothic women being mocked and followed by other white people.

      @kdavis3289 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, BUT these things also happened to other races... Natives, Chinese, Italians, Irish, etc all faced discrimination. It's not always because of "blackness" but because of being "different" or because of a perceived "weakness." Skin color and features are not always to blame. @@juliansearcie1758

    Am I the only black person who doesn't experience these things on a daily basis? Don't get me wrong, I do experience racism but everytime I hear someone's story about racism, I am like for real. I never experienced that at a restaurant. No one point at me. I got dirty looks before but I only notice less than I can count on one hand. I have got black girls are ugly. I have seen teachers treat black people differently than their white peers but on a daily basis to the point I hate being black scared to go out. I never experienced that. I am sorry to the people who do though.

      Same 🙋🏿‍♀️, and I’m a 6 ft dark skinned girl born and raised in the south. I do empathize with others who have experienced racism to the point of self hate. However, as a psychiatrist, I know that when people walk around with a negative mindset expecting to be mistreated, they will ONLY notice negative things about life and even misinterpret how others treat or see them. Almost like a self fulfilling prophecy. People need to replace their mindset with positive things (ie: the truth that God says you are in His word) and get therapy, preferably CBT. Because the mentality of focusing on wypipo is keeping our people bound in oppression.

    I feel for these women in the video. There were days when I was mistreated for the color of my skin by every race including our own race. We constantly have to fight and deal with this horrible mistreatment every day, and we have to hear these stories of others getting mistreated. We need to do more for our community and stand up for each other instead of turning a blind eye when another black woman or black man, especially a black woman. We keep talking about this stuff, yet we don't take action. I personally would stand up for that black woman or man when everyone is attacking them for racial intent because... it's the right thing to do.

    Um, I live in the south and I literally NEVER experience any of this. I think if you look for racism in every interaction you'll find it. If you live your life looking for every slight to be about race, I guarantee you'll find it everywhere.

    That makes me so sad for her. If you hate being black, you hate yourself. It’s beautiful that she’s able to be vulnerable and self aware unlike the boy in the gray shirt who doesn’t realize it.

      We were taught to hate ourselves by BLK and white people....for me, black people outcast me because I was a darky 🙋🏿‍♀️...even when lightskinned boys found me attractive...they would say, you're pretty for a darkskinned girl...I want to be with you but my homeboys are going to laugh at me for liking a darkskinned girl. Our culture had always been lightskinned lovers. Our race practiced self hatred for centuries

      Am I the only one who doesn't get it? She got all these piercings in her face and these weird contacts in her eyes, and it gives her a very striking, polarizing look. And then she blames the treatment on being black. I don't get that. She looks kind of scary to me. And it has nothing to do with her skin color. I'm about her shade. She has a very punk rock, emo look. That look has drawn points and stares and dirty looks from people for as long as I can remember. No matter the race. I grew up seeing that.

    Yes being black is hard, but to hate it? The versatility of these hairstyles, the melanin in this skin, the God that made it?!? To hate that. You can’t pick your race, just embrace it. The difficulty is the alternative part. It’s like being black and gay or being black, gay, and 300lbs. There are sometimes other factors too. In her case her alternative look is not a traditional look especially if you go to an upscale restaurant. I’m not dismissing the racism she experiences because her experience is personal to her. But the look she has also plays into it. She should try to experiment without the piercings.
