- What a mystery of a MV. RM is widening his artistry in a very different way. And as I said before, he is great at it. Such an interesting song and sound. Mix of different sounds and feelings from different decades. Cool. I can't wait for his future journey in music.

Lee Sung Jin, the MV director, said he and RM shared a lot of stories and came upon a story about a man that was stuck in a house with his PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
Doors have always been very symbolic. The door with the three different colored circles could mean PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE . Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, Yin and Yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness. Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library (many similarities to this MV). The girl throughout and at the end is "him", it's his anima/animus which he manifests to guide him. It was lost and now that he has found it again or it has come back to him he is able to find peace and live his own life without regret.
Right Place, Wrong Person. The name of his album. It's conceptional. The place isn't wrong but he (we) might feel wrong. The conceptual understanding is that we need to find ourselves, our own happiness to feel right wherever we are.
Regarding RM's eye, on the first day of filming the MV he hit his head on a camera and needed stiches.
"You’re always a little nervous when you’re working with these giant global superstars. Are they going to want to rehearse? Are they going to take notes? RM was game for everything. He was there for long hours. First take of the very first scene, he bent down and his head hit the camera and it was a giant gash on his eye and immediately I thought, “Oh great, I’m going to be deported immediately because I’ve just scratched this national treasure.” To his credit, he went to the hospital, got stitched up, came back and he was ready to go. He was so versatile and open to direction and I think he was also pushing me. He would come and check the monitor and be like, “Oh, I think we can get that one a little bit better.” He has an incredible team behind him too." - Lee Sung Jin

RM's Come Back To Me is captivating and introspective in every way. The transitions and cinematography are spectacular. RM's growth as an artist is palpable, and if this MV sets the tone for the Right Place, Wrong Person album, we are in for a fantastic and emotional musical journey.💜
A lot of good ARMY theories out already!
The rooms/scenarios represent different societal expectations. Being a social butterfly, A family man, A romantic partner, A child that will make their parents proud. However, RM clearly does no seem comfortable in any of these situations and is constantly running as if through a maze. Until he meets a woman who seems to share A similar sense of not belonging. They talk find kinship. Now we see RM in previous scenarios but he "seems" happy, accepting. In the end though I think he is still lost putting on a brave face. Finally RM and the the woman accept who they are and that it is ok to not be what society dictates, thus they go through the previously locked door and forge their own path.💜
Wow... that sounds really good. I can always count on ARMY to figure things out for me.
The way I see it is that RM in the first half of the video was lost and unhappy and he was making the people he is with in his different stage of life(a friend, a father and husband, a boyfriend and a son.) unhappy too, then in 6:15 he found himself and became happy again hence making the other people around him happy too .
this is just my humble interpretation but this also reminds me of what he said in the last FESTA I don't remember word for word but he said he needed the break because he felt like he lost himself and needs to find who he really is again .
The burden of paths not taken and the expectations of others about which should be taken and / or what and / or who he should be. Released when he came face to face with himself or someone else who is also going through the same journey who can help him reflects on his own choices. Once he came to terms with the choices he made and living with the expectations of others whether meeting them or not meeting them, he was free to escape his own mind and return to embrace the sun in the real world to carry on with his life and his future.

Namjoon hit his forehead on a camera right before shooting the MV, he had to go to the hospital and get stitches, then he returned to the set and filmed the MV.

RM first introduced and performed this song at Suga’s last concert, the Final, in Aug’23. It was in its early stage and we didn’t know the title then, so I was surprised this was the song. It was refreshing to see you hearing it for the first time! Because I watched Suga’s last concert multiple times, I also heard this before. I wasn’t sure about it back then, but I really like it now.
The first thing that came to my mind was Shakespeare’s “All the world’s a stage and all the men and woman merely players. They have their exits and entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts….” From “As you Like It”
There is a lot of symbolism and psychology, art and probably some literature. (It IS RM. ) On X people have found some incredibly detailed things. But in a nutshell it says to me that he has made peace with his past and is ready to move on to the next stage of his life.
**He did hurt himself. Several months ago on his Live he said he cut himself while using his camera and required stitches. He had the steri-strip on it and that is what you see now. They could have edited it out, but guess it fit the vibe/realness of the video. I zoomed in and there is still some swelling on the eye lid.

Very first day on set he hit equipment needed several stitches. A wounded RM sort of fits with the theme.
I really love this song and MV. So happy Joon is making the sounds that he wants too which makes me so excited to hear this whole album! I feel that u can see his growth, the song feels older, more mature, if that makes sense 😂 Just so proud of our Joon! 💜
Wait! You are RIGHT! There was just ONE part in Korean! Thanks for that interpretation! Is it a Korean saying John? If not, it must have a deep personal significant to him? Maybe he said it to someone once or twice in some very interesting conversations? Or maybe it just rhymes with the next or prior phrase/s?
That is the weird thing. Not really. It was not that significant in any way. Hmmm.. I am sure RM had something in his mind.
RMs IQ os 148. I never look for simple meanings. My theory If you did know RMs work every mix tape and album is different from the last. His first self titled mix tape is a slap back at his friends from his under ground rap days who called RM and Suga girls for wearing makeup. He used it to demonstrate why he was a better rapper than any of them, and to lay down his truth. In it isJOKE and DO YOU( the song that says clearly he refuses to be labelled or boxed into any genre). He is continuously pushing boundaries. In a way thats what is also happening in the mv. RM wanders around confused and unhappy through all these potential different lives and expectations never being comfortable. We see this has been so since he was small. At some point he becomes more comfortable in each scenario after being united with his other half/ self, and he can be more comfortable with others. But he still doesnt stay, he moves on finds himself and accompanies the woman( other half Jung or Plato?) out of the maze of societies expectations to find non of it's real. In the light he sees its all fake sets designed and created by someone else. However with RM there is always light at the end. Hope of better futures now he can see what life is about, he is free of those boxes. There are several clues for ARMY buried within the MV. Pain Devine. During a conversation piece with Pharrell Williams they discussed judging lyrics by how painful they are to produce ...pain divine, devine inspiration?

Thank you sunbae. It is pretty tough these days. As soon as my company launches it might get better. Actually not really. LOL. I am still OK. Need some more rest though. ^^ Getting too old for this.
