In this piano tutorial I show you how to play “That’s The Way of The World" by Earth, Wind & Fire as played by Larry Dunn on the original 1975 recording.
This online lesson is available to you for free; I love to play, study and teach piano and other keyboards. I appreciate it if you let me know your opinion about what I do, by leaving a comment, sharing the video, favoriting it and subscribing.

FANTASTIC ! Your playing is exquisitely precise and groovy, while your explanations are calm and precious. I love them both and so, each time you stop playing, it's a delicious frustration.

I'm learning the bass line with my left hand so how would you translate the chord progression just for right hand? Which notes do you keep and or leave out?

Everything I play with the right hand works fine with the bass line.

    The significance of this beautiful song to me;
this may not apply to everyone but perception is in the eye of the beholder.
"Hearts of fire creates love desire"
(Our hearts being put through the refiners fire creates within us a desire to ❤ love)
    Zechariah 13:9
"Take you high and higher to the 🌎 world you belong"
(Taking us to Mount Zion or Yahrushalayim, the city which sits high upon a hill)
    Hebrews 12:22
"High and higher to your place on the throne"
(Another reference to Yahrushalayim, YAHUSHA Ha'Mashiach is the only One who sits on that 'throne' fixed in His kodush city)
    Isaiah 9:7
"We come together on this special day"
(Remember to KEEP this day set apart and to have a kodush convocation on it for YAH-Shabbat, His day of rest)
    Lev.23:3
"Sing our message loud and clear"
(He inhabits the singing & praises of His people)
    Psalms 22:3
"Looking back, we've touched on sorrowful days"
(He will wipe away every tear)
    Rev.21:4
    "Future pass, they disappear"
(Time will be no more one day)
    Rev.10:6
"You will find peace of mind"
(YAHUAH gives us perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him)
    Isaiah 26:3
"If you look way down in your heart and soul"
(To love YAH with all of your heart, soul and strength)
    Deuteronomy 6:4-5
"Don't hesitate because the 🌎 world seems cold"
(This world is not our home, with all of it's wickedness and cold hearted people)
    Hebrews 13:14-16
"Stay young at heart, 'cause your never, never old"
(Unless we become like children, we will never enter His kingdom or kodush city)
    Matthew 18:3
"That's the way of the world"
(Do not be conformed to this world, but transformed)
    Romans 12:2
"Plant your flower and you grow a pearl"
(A sower went forth, some seed fell on good soil, and the kingdom of YAH is like a costly pearl of great price)
    Matthew 13:8
    Matthew 13:45-46
"Child is born with a heart ❤ of gold"
(For unto us a child is born, a son is given)
    Isaiah 9:6
"Way of the world makes His heart so cold"
(Though YAHUSHA's words seem cold, we are given a choice to choose Him and gain life or not choose Him and lose life)
    Matthew 10:34-39
Again depth and meaning are different for everyone. I love this song and this is just what I interpret when listening to it. 🤗❤🌍
    BARAK YAHUAH YAHUSHA L'OLAM 🙌 ♥

Where do I get the bass and drum back up for this song as you have. Its perfect! Thanks for the tutorial as I can understand your method. Just and old guy who loves jazz from the 60's when I played in a local band in New Orleans. Now I play piano just for myself and this is my kind of music.
Any help on getting the back ground and what will need to play it will be of the greatest help. I have a Yamaha Keyboard DGX-505 and hope to upgrade soon. This music is what I love!

    Really nice.
A lot of tutorials focus on lead playing but to me chordal accompaniment is what hold everthing together.
That's why I love guys like Tom Canning, Richard Tee and Donal Fagen. They hold down those complex chords and make the thing sounds so good!
