Really cool, I like be it! I'm just getting into this as a new hobby so I can only hope to be half as good so in turn I can make cool shit as well as a way to make some extra money! Thank you for making this video. Joe from Philadelphia...
Important question, what kind of gloves are those? Do they work well for mig? And awesome work!! Also where do you purchase the magnetic clamp?? Thanks!!
They are LincolnElectric Tig gloves, and yes they work well as long as youre not welding anything extreme. Thank you! I got mine at a canadian hardware store called Home Hardware, im sure you can find it on amazon though.
All these washers are stainless as well as the wire. Its possible to weld through a thick zinc coating but a respirator is a must, like you say it is very toxic!
Hi Bob, I used Mig with shielding gas. No problem using Mig, Fluxcore, Tig, Stick... Any welding process will work! Thanks for watching and please check out my newer updated videos! 🤘
Can I ask what sort of disk you used in your angle grinder to remove the welds and get a basic clean up done? And then also, what was that polishing wheel you used to get a better finish?
Hi! I used a flap disc to remove the welds and smooth everything out. something like this, probably an 80 grit. www.walter.com/products/-/producttradename/abrasives/blending/enduro-flex for polishing I used a large brass brush wheel mounted in a drill, something like this; www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-flat-wire-wheel-brush-coarse-4-in-0541317p.html#store=18 Thanks for watching! check out my newer videos, cheers!
I have a project in mind that will have a lot of compound curves and I'm thinking of how to support it as I weld. Has anyone ever used modeling clay to weld on? I imagine modeling the shape I want and then placing the pieces to weld onto the clay as I work along. Would that work or no? Thanks in advance. I loved this video!!!
I was just wondering this myself. Did you ever try it? Also I wonder what will happen if you use an ovenproof dish to weld on for the bowl shape like pyrex or ceramic
Weird. Sitting in a certain Ottawa garage with a pile of washers from gas filters looking up ideas in what to do with them and then hear "ottawa rock station chez 106" what's the odds.
These are stainless steel coated washers? I was looking to do something similar but was told to use plain steel washers? Any thoughts? Did you use a specific welding material to weld stainless?
These are solid stainless steel washer, stainless is not a coating, it is a grade of metal and needs stainless welding wire to weld. I wouldnt use plain washers, they are zinc coated which is not food safe and bad to weld
+WeldedWoodWorks makes sense, just never thought about it like that. I'd been doing more forging, but got into machining and welding recently, so I just learned about bluing as a protective process
Hey, im sorry to say life got a bit hectic and I havent had time to put into new videos. Im by no means stopping, I hope to have new videos out soon! Thank you very much for watching
Really admirable work. I enjoyed watching you work.

Will you put washers in it
Quick follow up: if those were zinc coated - you should remove zinc first ( it can be very toxic to weld) - though it looks like stainless?
All these washers are stainless as well as the wire. Its possible to weld through a thick zinc coating but a respirator is a must, like you say it is very toxic!
How many washers did that take
Great video! One question.... How do you eat cereal out of it XD.
+Harry McLane Haha very very fast. Thanks for watching!
How much is the price of this Machine welding ⁉
what is the silver mat thing between the table and bowl at the end?.
+Bluewirenut76 just some plastic table mat, nothing fancy
Thanks for posting, is that flux core or MIG? Any issues with using flux core?
Hi Bob, I used Mig with shielding gas. No problem using Mig, Fluxcore, Tig, Stick... Any welding process will work! Thanks for watching and please check out my newer updated videos! 🤘

@@FireHeartProjects Thanks so much for the info!
Thank you sincerely for watching! I hope to hear your suggestions to help improve this channel!
wow. Great idea for a project. I really need to buy myself a magnetic work clamp for my everlast welder. that looked really handy in your video.
+Myron Johnson Thanks for watching! The magnetic clamp is well worth the purchase, makes it hard to switch back when I need to sometimes.

Hi! A pyrex bowl would work fine as long as its real ovenproof pyrex. I use TIG welding cups made of pyrex!
@@FireHeartProjects That's great! Thankyou. I'm going to try it tonight

Haha small world! I hope our recent storm didnt cause you too much damage
Use it to hold your.... washers.

ty we will see what I come up with.@@FireHeartProjects
No problem, goodluck!
why did you heat that after welding?
Just to change the colour
Dumb question: why heat it with MAP gas before paint? Something to do with bluing?
+Thomas Moore yes the heating was just to give it that burnt blue/orange steel look, and a coat of clearcoat after for extra protection.
+WeldedWoodWorks makes sense, just never thought about it like that. I'd been doing more forging, but got into machining and welding recently, so I just learned about bluing as a protective process
About how long was it to weld it up?
Not long, maybe an hour max. Thanks for watching Bob!
ANY WAY TO DO THIS WITHOUT A WELDER?
yes you could do this with a good quality superglue and a superglue accelerator!
@@FireHeartProjects Could you solder it?
Where are the new videos?
Hey, im sorry to say life got a bit hectic and I havent had time to put into new videos. Im by no means stopping, I hope to have new videos out soon! Thank you very much for watching
You could have just got a bowl from the kitchen.
it's not a bowl, it's a lamp shade.
Could be a hat too
sadly it's going to end up at a flea market for $5 bucks
Нахуя он это сделал?
