I was raised by atheists and I decided to read the Bible when I was in my 30s. As everything is subject to individual interpretation, I found that the god of the Bible is a character with anger issues, a sadist, a toxic entity. I still don't believe in God therefore everyone in the Bible is a character in a book for me. Saying that, after reading the Bible, I could not find any Love, respect, compassion, empathy, etc coming from that god. Only rules, threats, chains aka an abusive relationship. Stone me if you like. That's where I'm standing. Peace and Love to all! And freedom from any chains one may end up in.
