Well, there is Arlen, who is now a ghoul and the target of MLP references (idea about unicorns and pegasus and "Clock is Ticking, Arlen, Clock is Ticking"). He was upset about the toy company being turned into munition works. It kinda sucks that Fallout 76 came up late with human NPC's since it has a Senator who opposes the Enclave even leading a guerilla band after the apocalypse.
@@stevenx399 Capitalism is the only system in human history that gives the poor an opportunity to rise. Feudalism actively worked to keep serfs in the serf class, socialism and its big brother communism tend to lead to starvation and often even widespread execution, it's all no good. The best system developed thus far can be seen today in the West, with a solid foundation of capitalism from which economic excess can be syphoned which is then redistributed via a socialist framework to help keep the homeless off the street at night and to help people who can't find jobs, as well as those whom due to physical and/or mental disabilities simply cannot work at all. Sadly some lazy people also get roped in who avoid work when possible and seek to consume tax dollars so as to stay home and do their own thing, which is unfortunate, but I guess there'll always be leaches who seek to sit by and do nothing if they can while being supported by the hard work of others. If you have a better system than capitalism, present it, but based on all human experiences thus far it appears as though without a firm foundation of capitalism, socialist policies are doomed to cause mass-devastation and the poorest of society will have no opportunity to better themselves (that's best-case scenario, worst-case is they just end up dying). I've been homeless before and I'm not interested in being homeless again, I'm making money from my writing abilities online thanks to capitalism, I'm able to better myself and my wife and the future family we will make because of entrepreneurship and capitalism. So I say again, you got a better system? Present it. Based on my learnings of history and how things are going today, without capitalism there is only suffering and death. Starvations as seen in Venezuela, 21st century victims of socialism, men women and children, innocent people who lost their lives for the Marxist revolution. A hundred million in the 20th century wasn't enough I guess, followers of Marx needed more blood sacrifices to papa Karl... historically illiterate and unimaginably greedy fools. Without our firm and solid foundation of capitalism, all these social programs would drive us into the dirt and our economy would crumble. When an economy is harmed, whether due to socialist policies going too far or due to foolish environmentalist policies, it is the poor who get hit the fastest and the hardest. Socialists and commies, they don't give one sweet fuck about the poor, that isn't what fuels them... it's their hatred of the rich and wealthy. THAT is their fuel, hatred and greed, not sympathy or empathy.
This story doesn't make me sad. It makes me happy that even though there was a war going on and things kept going wrong, everyone stuck together. No matter the odds, everyone pitched in to help their friend to bowl again, and that's a very inspiring story.

Oh I believe it Ronin Dragon64. Actually I think Bethesda should have him in the next Fallout game voicing one of the major NPCs. Maybe some kind of storyteller type who explains quite a bit of lore or the plot. In any case, when Ox starts using that tone of voice I start bracing myself for incoming feels.
Rebecca Mumford I would like to see him be a companion. One that is important to the plot, but we can have him with us where ever we go. That would be awesome, go to a place and he gives a quick insight on the place. I know, I just love it. ^_^

My own sister is paralyzed from the waist below and I've grown up my entire life seeing her in a wheelchair. When I first discovered this area in the Far Harbor DLC, I found it rather surprising and heartwarming Bethesda made this wonderful tale, even if we, the player, only learn about it after the bombs have dropped.
Watching these a bit late after recently finishing Far Harbor for my first time. I've been in a wheelchair all my life, and I have to admit, I'm glad this wasn't just a story of "Crippled war veteran gets shafted by corporate company". We have enough of that in the real world. That crane just doesn't click into place. Having a heavy crane parked on an already compromised roof trying remove a truck that ended up nose-down as a result of a landslide. The entire building would be on, well, shaky ground.
None of your other stories make me cry. I don't cry often, even at my best friend's funeral. But this one brought tears to my eyes. The whole thing sounds like a trick me and my buds would pull if one of us got crippled. YEAH LET'S BUILD A BOWLING BALL CANNON OUT OF A PORTABLE NUKE LAUNCHER, WHAT COULD GO WRONG? It's so fun and derpy, but so realistically human. It's so sad that they never got to show Thomas the machine.
A little tip that likely a decent amount of people know: if you don’t want to spend resources, go find bowling balls, or can’t make any more ammo, go to a weapons workbench and give the striker a standard launcher, adding the bowling ball launcher mod to your inventory. Then put it on the Big Boy and keep multiplying the ammo. Not only is it free ammo, it can be free caps. I’m not sure if it’s like the Nuka-Nuke Launcher’s situation where you can simply build the launcher on another Fat Man without having to strip the original weapon of its weapon mod. Also, I think the bowling balls can sometimes break when hitting a hard surface (A.K.A. anywhere in FO4 besides a Gunner’s head or a Deathclaw’s stomach).
I first saw Beaver Creek's sign glowing in the mist the first time I walked out of Far Harbor. I had been given a few quests by the locals, but being the free spirit that I am, decided to put those on the back burner and go trekking through the Fog. I remember how haunted the bowling alley looked. Unfortunately though, I never discovered this story or the unique weapon inside, as I quickly became distracted by everything around me (which eventually led me to a large building in the distance, and solving the very comical vault 118). I'm so glad you made this video. I'm going to revisit the bowling alley on my next opportunity and get that bowling ball launcher! Thanks so much!
So the striker is basically just for those who want a nonexplosive single-shot weapon to fit with their “Heavy Gunnery” perk. (P.S.: I just realised it has a 50% chance to cripple the *legs…* Can it still be too soon 210 years later?)
I think harpoon gun fit that better, longer range, easier to aim, more ammo and I think a bit faster reloading. I once get a kneecapper one, I changed it to a flechettes mod, works much better, have like 70% chance cripple the legs (if I did my math right)
I saw a video from a youtuber (Can't remember who, now) who modified the bowling ball launcher to be a two-shot. It basically conjures a second modified bowling ball out of thin air, rather than pulling two balls from your inventory, so when you go to collect them, you effectively double your ammo as you fire. Makes it more viable to use, if you're dead-set on doing so!
Out of all the stories told by this franchise, for some reason this is saddest of all of them. Out of all the glorified tragedies you find in this series, of all the over exaggerated deaths, and action movie like moments you can find, you sometimes forget that prewar fallout was just like us, but more 50s like, these people had lives and hearts, they had friends, family, and loved ones that they probably weren’t able to see again due to the war. This reminded me of that sad fact.
I didn't know about the espionage, although I suspected it. I did find the Striker and read the back story. I took the weapon and the Vim Cola power armor back to the Commonwealth with me. Seeing you fight the Queen Mirelurk, reminded me that I killed one just past the edge of the West side of the Far Harbor map. So, even though I was able to kill it, I couldn't loot it. I discovered I could send my companion to loot it, however. If anyone wasn't aware of this work-around, this gives you an option to reach something off of the map.
This is pretty interesting! The only thing that I have to pick about is the type of bowling Bethesda uses for the Commonwealth. Being a newenglander my entire life there is no real presence of tenpin bowling, instead we have something called candlepin bowling. The name comes from the shape of the pins which are slim. The major difference is that the balls are much smaller about the size of a softball and weigh about 1-1.5 pounds. The obvious response to this is that the divergence made it so candlepin bowling never existed but it would be quite the opposite for the commonwealth. Candlepin bowling was developed in 1880 in Worcester, Massachusetts, by Justin White, a local bowling center owner, some years before both the standardization of the tenpin bowling sport in 1895 and the invention of duckpin bowling. I love your videos and the lore you bring to them so I figured you would enjoy a little bit of real world lore.
If you combine The Striker with the Big Boy, you can duplicate modified bowling balls over and over. Costs 1 ball to fire, but you can then pick up two. Helps keep up with the ammo issues.
loved the backstory of the lane, it was the first building I entered after reaching far harbor. I´m replayinf Fallout 4 right now and this story was the first one that came to my mind after visiting the island again
I was able to use the Striker. During the Captain’s Dance(I forgot the quest name) against the mirelurk Queen, that was legendary.I was GROSSLY under leveled and, in desperation, pulled out the Striker and managed to cripple both legs, or all six, and get it on the ground. All I had to do then was avoid the acid, take a bit of buffout, and take the Bloodletter to its back.
Having put close to 1000 hours playing Fallout 4 across multiple platforms, your videos allow me to re-experience the game often learning things that I missed, or plot lines I failed to connect. Sincere thanks for the amazing content!
Honestly, I never bothered using the Striker. I just placed it on a table in my safe house in Sanctuary and left it to remain on display with a few bowling balls. They didn't do much damage for my liking, plus I'm on more of a "melee weapons only unless in a dire situation that calls for a gun" type of play through, so lugging that big thing around isn't worth my time. Story was interesting, though. Never gave it much a thought when quickly reading through the terminals, so at least you cleared up a few questions I had about the place that makes more sense now, so thanks (as always).
That's what I love about fallout in general. They make you for these people you never even meet. You feel so bad for them. And want them to live happily but you know they can't
These videos are years old, but i still love them Oxhorn. Thank you for making them. *** Just in case, i have 2 questions, unrelated. 1. is i found an unmarked location. It was a small graveyard along the western side, near the rail line. A raider was mourning a fallen friend that was in the grave. The 2nd was, there was another unmarked location close by of a "Children of Atom" outpost. It was a nuclear disposal yard. There were a lot of molerats there. Hope this finds you well Ox.
Did you know that the bowling ball mechanism is considered a mod? That means you can unequip it at a weapons workshop provided you have a normal fat man mod or mirv mod. I haven't tried this, but maybe if you put the bowling mod on the big boy launcher you can use it to get unlimited modified bowling balls. Just shoot it at a wall and it'll give you a free ball every time.
Edor Prime Ikr? I mean I'm still mad no peeved that Bethesda didn't remaster FalloutNV because imagine fallout NV with fallout 4's graphics. And maybe the weapon and armor crafting stations but at least change NV's graphics.
Daisy was most likely thomas' cousin, given that they share a last name and it was described that she learned about thomas' accident from her aunt and uncle, who were the first to know bc they were toms parents
video for abraxo its related to robco and i want to know more because of a poster that says mister handy trusts abraxo then at the bottom it says abraxo something chemical is a subsidiary of robco ps please like so he can see it and bring the elephant feet trash can ;)
I love how deep the lore goes in Fallout 4. It makes me highly optimistic on their next installment. Hopefully by then, their Elder Scroll series will have run its course so they can put more attention into it.
I thought this was this story was one of the most heart worming yet tragic in Far Harbor & its one of my personal favorite stories in the game so far ( haven't found all of the stories yet)
Ox i love your videos. This was the saddest one Ive seen yet. When u said the date Thomas was scheduled to come home was in December, I knew he was never getting back to the people who loved him............... War never changes
I was wondering did Kellogg kill the scientist in vault 111 or was it some type of disaster (unless I just forgot or maybe it never really said this could be good for an video concept)
Egan white after the bombs dropped and the people were frozen, the vault started to get low on food to feed people. The Security thought it was safe to get out of the vault to get some food. But the overseer and the scientists wanted to wait for an all clear signal from Vault tec to know if it's safe to come out yet.The signal never came and so the scientists and security started arguing if they should go outside or not since they were running out of food.Eventually, the security had enough bullshit and mutinied, killing scientists and the overseer. Then they left.
Yeah it would be an good video ideas for an video trying to follow them and get hints to where they died or how they lived after the vault if they did. It instantly die.
Aww, that was sweet. Nice to see even a small business in this universe that actually cares about its employees and customers. The one thing that seems a little weird to me though, is the fact that there's already absolutely a precedent for people in wheelchairs being able to bowl without guns. But I guess that's also pretty easy to pass off as a couple of drunk guys getting really attached to an idea they came up with.
3:45 Hey, Stickly Man! WHAAAAT are you doing? Wait, _Bar_ Harbor!? I thought this was _Far_ Harbor. Also, you can take the bowling ball launcher part off the Striker then put it on the Big Boy. It doesn't take long after that to have infinite ammo for it, especially with the Quick Hands perk, let alone Scrounger 4 (chance to "regain" another bowling ball).
hey oxhorn, i know you may never read this but, today i was playing some fallout 3 today and i went to vault 106, and while i was in there..something sort of disturbing was happening, and i would like to find out from you because you are the best at this, if you read this, may you be able to help solve this dark and disturbing mystery of the vault please?
Egan white I think he has a gore mod that makes things more bloody but if your having problems with finding bodies it may be a glitch try re installing your game.
I feel you homie, i just don't know about this Oxhorn guy since he started with fo4. I'm the type a guy that likes watching oldfags of the franchinse. Or just people loyal to it.
I don't think it really matters what game he started with. It seems to me he is as much a fan of the franchise as any of us, regardless. I myself started with F03, but have since played 1, 2, tactics, NV, and now FO4. I've even played the tech demo for Van Buren. IMO what matters is the love for the game and its lore.
I was wondering if the Daisy from Beaver Bowling was the same Daisy from Good Neighbor. I remember her mentioning that her husband was killed in the war. From the Boston Library quest I assumed she grew up in the area. Maybe she lived in Far Harbor?

It's possible though in some cases that would be odd. Kids like soda so why would Bethesda try to trick you into thinking kids broke the soda machine.

Beaver Creek? Are we in Canada EH?
Connor seto Canada has been annexed in the fallout universe, so it doesn't even matter.
Katherine Clairmont Canada never mattered
Jake Stavinsky it did
Jake Stavinsky hay I'm from Canada EH!
Mr. Anonymous congrats me too
This is pretty interesting!
Fucking love this channel man
Zurlich fricking*
HELL YEAH
My heart sank when I heard "His destroyer went down." either way I gotta say that has to be one of the best managers in Fallout.
Glad to see your brotherhood character again. Maybe do a video with one of their radiant quests in the future?
When Ox said he had a two shot gatling laser I imagined a 5 shot fully upgraded final judgment
I love how serious Ox is when talking about all the mischievous things these teddy bears were set up to do.
I live in a town called Beavercreek, and we have a similarly named bowling alley, so stumbling across this location was pretty chilling.
Having put close to 1000 hours playing Fallout 4 across multiple platforms, your videos allow me to re-experience the game often learning things that I missed, or plot lines I failed to connect. Sincere thanks for the amazing content!
This is a perfect spot to strike out
Man, I didn't realize how much story this place had; I just went there to grab the Striker and left
You can hear the pain in Oxhorn's voice after reading the puns
I'd love to hear more lore/stories from Fallout 1 & 2. The junktown one got me glued in.
The Holy Rollers team is a reference to a Simpsons episode where Homer starts a bowling team
I liked how he said the legendary ghouls can be different while he’s taking down a legendary without getting attacked by it
I love how much 50's cliché there is in this "Mini-Side Story"
These videos are years old, but i still love them Oxhorn. Thank you for making them. *** Just in case, i have 2 questions, unrelated. 1. is i found an unmarked location. It was a small graveyard along the western side, near the rail line. A raider was mourning a fallen friend that was in the grave. The 2nd was, there was another unmarked location close by of a "Children of Atom" outpost. It was a nuclear disposal yard. There were a lot of molerats there.
Hope this finds you well Ox.
I just went to this location a few days ago. The story was really touching and sad.
P.A.M. sent me to the Galactic Zone of Nukaworld when I was level 15. I laughed at how impossible it was for me to do that.
O my god
The video is 28 minutes long and has only been out for a minute. How can you dislike something you didint watch?
Did you know that the bowling ball mechanism is considered a mod? That means you can unequip it at a weapons workshop provided you have a normal fat man mod or mirv mod. I haven't tried this, but maybe if you put the bowling mod on the big boy launcher you can use it to get unlimited modified bowling balls. Just shoot it at a wall and it'll give you a free ball every time.
Cant wait for next older fallout games videos.
Edor Prime Ikr? I mean I'm still mad no peeved that Bethesda didn't remaster FalloutNV because imagine fallout NV with fallout 4's graphics. And maybe the weapon and armor crafting stations but at least change NV's graphics.
gamer guy And make it so pepole on next-gen consoles can play like me
T3kn0Waf7le or you could just buy an old xbox or ps3 and play it like that. XD
Gizmo9969 but improved graphics of fallout 4 in NV would be amazing
Edor Prime yes you can
Daisy was most likely thomas' cousin, given that they share a last name and it was described that she learned about thomas' accident from her aunt and uncle, who were the first to know bc they were toms parents
Oxhorn, You should make a lore video about diamond city and about all the small Shops and buildings such as the science centre and the greenhouse
I have found out about this tragic story in my playthrough, but still watched the whole video with big interest. Thanks Oxhorn!
video for abraxo its related to robco and i want to know more because of a poster that says mister handy trusts abraxo then at the bottom it says abraxo something chemical is a subsidiary of robco ps please like so he can see it and bring the elephant feet trash can ;)
It's crazy because only in fallout 4 all of these stories took place while the sole survivor was alive
I love how deep the lore goes in Fallout 4. It makes me highly optimistic on their next installment. Hopefully by then, their Elder Scroll series will have run its course so they can put more attention into it.
I wholeheartedly disagree.
I thought this was this story was one of the most heart worming yet tragic in Far Harbor & its one of my personal favorite stories in the game so far ( haven't found all of the stories yet)
The puns in this episode felt like a PUNch...
Egan white They left the vault
Ambrosio Gonzalez do you know what happened to them after they left the vault? the security guards that is. that would be a cool thing to explore
CoolKid1998 well it happened in 2077 or sometime after that. They problably died out of old age or because of the wasteland
But I guess that's also pretty easy to pass off as a couple of drunk guys getting really attached to an idea they came up with.
i used the settlement anywhere mod and made this place my settlement lol.. time to leave this depressing place.
People like you are going to make Fallout 76 an absolute blast to play. Epic content - I'm addicted to watching these.

Hey, Stickly Man!
In the pre war world Bar Harbor is the name. It is in real life too.
I laughed when I first saw Beaver Creek, because I live in a suburb called Beavercreek. We have a bowling alley too. It's called Beaver Lanes.
hey oxhorn, i know you may never read this but, today i was playing some fallout 3 today and i went to vault 106, and while i was in there..something sort of disturbing was happening, and i would like to find out from you because you are the best at this, if you read this, may you be able to help solve this dark and disturbing mystery of the vault please?
Those bowling puns on the terminal had me splitting my sides with laughter.
DO A LORE ON THE DUNWICH BORERS
Or The Dunwich Building F3!
Luisangel Acevedo I think he did that already
Happy 1,000 videos, Ox! I absolutely adore your content and hope to see more soon!
Damn, feels bad man. Good job Oxhorn.
I never noticed how bad the pinball machines were until you pointed it out. The tiny caged lights made me laugh so hard
They’re bowling in Heaven ;-;
F
These people are so friggin nice to Thomas. They made him an awesome bowling ball launcher. It makes me feel really bad for Thomas.
Me: "Hey America, come to beaver creek lanes."
America: "no"
Me: there is oil on the floor"
America: (runs to beaver creek lanes.)
“When the bombs dropped it closed the book on so many stories.”Damn
Please tell me is that mod that lets you see the body's is or it an perk please let me know I have have such an hard time finding body's
Egan white I think he has a gore mod that makes things more bloody but if your having problems with finding bodies it may be a glitch try re installing your game.
Egan white do you mean V.A.T.S.? Or just dead body's in general?
There's a mod that lights up unlooted corpses iirc. I stopped using it because it got a little buggy but its out there
Non Existence thanks I will try it out
Bram Weenink just dead body's
I bet Thomas knew that all his friends loved him even without going and getting the Striker, they all seemed pretty close.
Can someone please make a pretty war or a functional Bowling alley that we can use or get Money from it..... Please!
I'm not crying, man.... I swear.... I'm not crying.... just something in my eye.
Damn first 50 people that lucky as hell refresh
This seriously is one of the best backstories to a weapon in this game
Hey, when did you start playing fallout and what was teh first game you played in the franchise?
Fo3 in like 2011
Nice! 💪
Boi I don't remember it has been so long..
Hey Ox, Why is there a Brotherhood Kid following you around?
Novus Patriarch brotherhood radiant quest
Oh okay. Must have missed that quest. Thanks
because bos is stupid enough to put a kid in danger . unlike us insinuate guys .
That is really a nice but sad Story. Cheers up a little from all those negative stories, that we might usually find in the Wasteland. Thanks Oxhorn.
