The American "Dancing With The Stars" did it first several years ago when they paired pro New Zealander Peta Murgatroyd, a hearing person, with deaf-mute American actor-model Nyle DiMarco. They also turned off the music and all sounds during one dance number.
Never watched dancing with stars but can only applaud them for breaking new ground. Gio & Rose have touched the hearts of all of us, not just through the silent moment, but the connection they have and the way Gio has embraced the challenges Rose has, its endearing to see how proud he is of her and the way he looks after her, but most of all the trust Rose shows in Gio, 2021 winners right there.

She displays her playful good humor and inner strength, and I believe she loves him as she would a brother. Professionally, they click beautifully. There's chemistry there. Both Giovanni and Peta Murgatroyd are compassionate, patient, and excellent dancers, teachers, and choreographers.
