You’re just one out of a handful of the few traditional country singers left; thank you for staying true to real country music. I wish the country music industry would wake up, and realize it’s the style we all still love to hear.
In 1994 my nephew died. He was 19. It was a bad time for us all but we had a joke in our family that Mark Chestnutt was his real daddy. They really did look a lot alike. One day I was in the parking lot of our local Kroger and this song came on the radio. It suddenly hit me so hard and I sat there in my car full of groceries and just sobbed. I still love this song but I've never forgot that day.
Wish he would come up to the Philadelphia Pa area all this COVID-19. Only saw him once back in the 90's at the Valley Forge Music Fair. He was suffering from a bad cold but still put on an awesome show.
💯 I’ve been a country music fan since the early 1990’s. In my opinion this is one of the best country songs I’ve ever heard. Great classic style musically and the words are so poignant. Any guy who’s ever has his heart broken will instantly identify with it and get a little misty eyed.
It took me 22 years from the first time I saw Mark playing that Takamine Santa Fe to finally have my own. I regret that I've only seen him live once. At the Rusty Armadillo in Rootstown, Ohio, a couple of years ago. He's still one of the greatest voices in traditional country. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to see him again.
@Mark Chesnutt that picture is my best buddy, Tusk. Named for the Lindsey Buckingham song. I had a bad night with my late wife the night before I saw "Almost Goodbye" for the first time. I had lived it the night before. When I saw that Santa Fe guitar, I instantly fell in love with it. To this day it's the prettiest guitar out there. I'm not a social media person. So, I'm not sure what's meant by "hang outs". I do know if Mark comes back to the NE Ohio or hell, anywhere near the area. I would gladly pay for a meet and greet and shake his hand. "Almost Goodbye" helped us get through a rocky time in our marriage. She's gone on to The Lord but it'll be with me til she and I meet again, how that song helped us through.
@@TUSK1157 I got thrown out of the Dusty Armadillo one time for underage drinking haha. God bless you buddy, don't fall for these fake accounts trying to get you to download scamming apps. And more importantly, don't let that old Santa Fe collect dust!
@Mark Chesnutt what is it with these fake celebrity accounts popping up all over TH-cam?? You've been reported. And please, get an actual life. You're not fooling anyone and it's not cute.
