As a Hardcore Kirby fan (it's really not that hard) it was funny but also painful to see you struggle with controlling the hammer which was my favorite ability in Super Star. (Spoiler Warning for Past Kirby Games Below) - - - Also, Kirby has had exposition dumps and anime plot twists for the penultimate and final level of the main campaign since Kirby's Adventure. It's also been breaking your controller since Return to Dream Land.
@@MTCesquire but in saying that, that implies that Kirby had other games on the NES, which Kirby didn't. Pretty sure Beatemups just got it wrong and thought the NES game was in fact the 1st Kirby game. Great video... Great take... But Kirby on NES was not the first Kirby game. That's why Kirby's Dream Land on GB had no power grab abilities... Those powers didn't come until the second game, which was the one on NES!
Funny thing, I didn't even know this game existed until my 5 and 3-year-old daughters went crazy when they saw the Kirby balls at Target. They got me right then and there. I picked up a copy THAT day. My 5-year-old was able to hang for like the first 4 or 5 stages, but after that, the platforming got a bit hard for her. I ended up taking over as the 1P and actually started getting really into the game. I wouldn't call myself a Kirby fan by any means, but the game does have a charm and is quite fun!

Wow what an incredible game!! I can’t stop playing this which surprised me since I haven’t played one like this since 10+ years! Thoroughly surprised :)
9:25 Kirby lore may seem like a "dont ask questions its just a game" series, but in all reality its a "ask questions... see how far the rabbit hole goes." Because yes, its complicated.
Great review wood and I agree based on what I’ve played so far. But as a more casual Kirby fan that has only beaten robobot, I’m kinda confused why wood said the game was random until the end because the lore is hidden yes, but context is there if you look deep enough. Of course I haven’t beaten the forgotten land yet, but from what I’ve played, there seems to be a lot of context in the descriptions of the gacha trophies. Just my thoughts though. ❤️
The Maine story begins with Kirby attempting to save waddle dee town, but than the mouse thing (idk it’s name) gets captured so Kirby while still saving waddle dees tries to save it, leading to Kirby fighting the final boss to save it.
Love some original Kirby and Kirby 64. As much as I love Kirby though, the games are braindead easy. Hoping the new one is at least somewhat challenging.
My favourite Kirby game is superstar ultra. To this day it’s definitely the best in my opinion. Sad that you need a ds and the game to play it as its kinda hard to find now
Great video, will be picking up Kirby later this week. Still playing through Elden Ring and finally beat Melania earlier today so after that I need a relaxing game…
Finally a review that actually talks about the game like it's a game and not just reading off some bullet points with a bit of context thrown in. Searched for a review on this game when it launched and only got results from the big name corporate reviewers, none of them convinced me this game was worth the price for the time nor did they explain how much there really is to do.
I didn't like the demo because it was way too easy. Is there a way to make the game more difficult? I felt like I was just walking in a linear path solving simple puzzles. It didn't even feel like a game anymore. I used to enjoy Kirby as a child but I just can't enjoy it anymore.
I feel like it’s dependent on what you want kind of challenge you want from a Kirby game. I‘ve completed the main game and can say that while I haven’t exactly died a whole lot, the challenges and finding the collectibles really tested me, especially towards the end of the game. I feel like a good amount of this game’s difficulty comes from the doing those challenges, and I had a lot more fun than a good amount of the Kirby games that I’ve played (though, this comes from someone who likes most of the main games) I’m also somewhat in post-game, and I will say, the difficulty really starts to step up not that far in.
@Logan McGlynn I just don't like games with no challenge. It doesn't need to be Mario it just needs to have difficulty or it feels like you're not doing anything
I.. think... Kim is making dinner. lmao This excuse at the end is like when I want to go home but someone keeps talking so the only thing I can do is slowly back up to the door and hope they get the hint.

I loved the other guy coming in and nerding out about Kirby at the end! Wish we could have heard the whole thing, honestly! Reminds me of how i nerd out about things! Haha! Awesome vid as always, Wood! :D
8:50 great now I want a Kirbymon game where Kirby is pokeball skinned and catches the mons with the sucking ability....
i think thats your best video ever. it had a few skits but not too many where it’s convoluted like a scot the woz video and you still got across how you felt about the game i wouldn’t change anything about this video
I keep double-taking when i see these titles but i have to remember Kirby's whole thing being "sucking"
I really like the game, although I only played the demo, I hope I can get it for like black friday or something. The art style and gameplay looks really nostalgic and fun
As a Hardcore Kirby fan (it's really not that hard) it was funny but also painful to see you struggle with controlling the hammer which was my favorite ability in Super Star. (Spoiler Warning for Past Kirby Games Below)

Also, Kirby has had exposition dumps and anime plot twists for the penultimate and final level of the main campaign since Kirby's Adventure. It's also been breaking your controller since Return to Dream Land.
Just joined your twitch channel. I can’t believe you played elden ring. Looking forward to watching your elden ring playback. Love your videos!
Kirbys first adventure was on gameboy not the nes
That's what he said. Kirby's first adventure on the NES, not Kirby's first adventure WAS on the NES.
th-cam.com/video/2WWRHxgGsjc/w-d-xo.html
@@MTCesquire but in saying that, that implies that Kirby had other games on the NES, which Kirby didn't. Pretty sure Beatemups just got it wrong and thought the NES game was in fact the 1st Kirby game. Also, he directly says "The VERY 1st one on the NES" further implying he means what he thinks is the 1st Kirby game
I can’t wait to see how many people complain about how Kirby’s adventure isn’t the first Kirby game and it actually is Kirby’s dream land
This dude is so freaking good at advertising.
You’re the best Wood!!! Greatings from Mexico City!!
I am loving it. Definitely the right move making it 3D 🥰
Great video... Great take... But Kirby on NES was not the first Kirby game. That's why Kirby's Dream Land on GB had no power grab abilities... Those powers didn't come until the second game, which was the one on NES!
This game feels like the start of a new Dreamland Trilogy, if that makes sense
Funny thing, I didn't even know this game existed until my 5 and 3-year-old daughters went crazy when they saw the Kirby balls at Target. They got me right then and there. I picked up a copy THAT day. My 5-year-old was able to hang for like the first 4 or 5 stages, but after that, the platforming got a bit hard for her. I ended up taking over as the 1P and actually started getting really into the game. I wouldn't call myself a Kirby fan by any means, but the game does have a charm and is quite fun!
I am going back to the other Kirby games I have after finishing this one. I love this game so much.
The 3DS have lots of Top Tier Kirby Games.
should, uh, someone mention to him that Kirby's Adventure WASNT the first kirby game, and that it was released after Kirby's Dreamland on the original Game Boy?
Wow what an incredible game!! I can’t stop playing this which surprised me since I haven’t played one like this since 10+ years! Thoroughly surprised :)
9:25 Kirby lore may seem like a "dont ask questions its just a game" series, but in all reality its a "ask questions... see how far the rabbit hole goes."
Because yes, its complicated.
Probably because he didn’t take the time or care to go over the small little details the game has
@@Yoshizuyuner but that’s part of the fun of Kirby! That’s why I don’t understand lol.
@@acecondor5716 it’s because he coming from not being a Kirby fan or at least that’s what it seems like to me
As a Canadian, I never knew those red balls were a thing for Target.
This is the first Kirby game I've played since I bought the first game on virtual console on my 3ds. And it's great so far
The Maine story begins with Kirby attempting to save waddle dee town, but than the mouse thing (idk it’s name) gets captured so Kirby while still saving waddle dees tries to save it, leading to Kirby fighting the final boss to save it.
been keeping this game in my eye, i played the GBA game (Nightmare in Dreamland) until full completion as a kid and have many great memories from it!
Kid Icarus Uprising
Im glad you reached full completion........on Kirby.
Your editor rocks
watching new fans to the series discover how ridiculous and cinematic kirby finales always are is always really funny
Dude this video was so well done. I had to watch it twice. Keep up the good work bro bro !
Kirby's Adventure on NES will always have a place in my heart. Forgotten Land is the first Kirby game since that game that feels like that game.
The saddest part about the ending is I understood all of that Kirby lure
Love some original Kirby and Kirby 64. As much as I love Kirby though, the games are braindead easy. Hoping the new one is at least somewhat challenging.
Hey Wood, I was wondering if you could do a review of Triangle Strategy? Love your work
I’m pretty sure Kirby’s Dream Land on the Game Boy was the first Kirby game.
I was about to comment the same thing
Hope everyone is having a good year ✌️😁
My favourite Kirby game is superstar ultra. To this day it’s definitely the best in my opinion. Sad that you need a ds and the game to play it as its kinda hard to find now
Pc + emulator + rom = No more sad... GLHF
The next video should start with Wood still on the phone, still learning more about Kirby lore
Kirby is all right. It's the best Kirby in a while. But still not the greatest.
Great video, will be picking up Kirby later this week. Still playing through Elden Ring and finally beat Melania earlier today so after that I need a relaxing game…
It's like playing Mario but better...crazy...it's absolutely awesome. I'm loving it.
I feel like a good amount of this game’s difficulty comes from the doing those challenges, and I had a lot more fun than a good amount of the Kirby games that I’ve played (though, this comes from someone who likes most of the main games)
I’m also somewhat in post-game, and I will say, the difficulty really starts to step up not that far in.
@Logan McGlynn I just don't like games with no challenge. It doesn't need to be Mario it just needs to have difficulty or it feels like you're not doing anything
@@jackflynn412 …do Ultimate Z cup Wild mode no copy ability’s no power ups no amibo:)
@@jackflynn412 there’s difficulty if you are a completionism. The challenges are difficult if you go for 100% having to beat the time.
You deserve a sub for the transition from the food gag to the sponsored bit, you got me good.
What a clickbait title 😭😭😭
I.. think... Kim is making dinner. lmao This excuse at the end is like when I want to go home but someone keeps talking so the only thing I can do is slowly back up to the door and hope they get the hint.
Antdude is so damn good!! Go watch all his Kirby reviews!!
The ending was the best part " I think Kim is cooking dinner "😂😂😂😂
Looks great, can’t wait to buy it used for 35 bucks in a week
You won't find it that cheap in a week. Nintendo games take long time to go down
I’ve never said this ever in life but I love how u brought in the sponsor 👏🏽👏🏽
first
Not even 😂
Funniest thing in the video is where you said Factor meals take around 2mins to heat up.
You gotta bump up your microwave to full power then throw your microwave in the oven to match their 2 min and 30 second timer.
They are good though.
