    I only need to look at Bruce Lee's knuckles to know he's legit. Never really understood where the skeptics came from.

    Preach it, brother. We’re roughly the same age, and I’ve been training since I was young as well. Anyone who doubts Bruce Lee’s fighting prowess simply isn’t doing enough research or paying attention. The dude grew up fighting on the streets. He fought so much he got in trouble with the police and got kicked out of Hong Kong. Read John Little’s book, watch Jim Kelly’s interviews, or really any interviews by people who knew him, OTHER than Joe Lewis, Bob Wall and Chuck Norris, who threw shade on him only AFTER he died, to build themselves up. Ask Mike Tyson and Sugar Ray Leonard what they thought of Bruce’s fighting ability. I know one more thing…he would’ve loved you. I don’t know about Jon Jones and the Rock, though. BL was freaking fast, and powerful to boot.

    17:46 Bruce Lee created his art for the Street so thats why he taught strong hard forward because the first hit in a street fight counts the most. Sometimes all it takes is that 1 punch right on the button and its over and thats more likely to happen if you hit with your strongest hand first.
    As a boxer I thought it was weird when my JKD instructor told me to fight southpaw.

    "Full contact to the body. Light contact to the head. No protective equipment."
    Another reason why your generation has greater longevity than ours. I also like that with Kyokushin there are no punches to the head...but the kicks to the head can surprise you in range. Their ability to head kick up close always impressed me

    Dr. Karmen every time I hear someone saying that Bruce Lee wasn’t a fighter or that some low level ufc fighter would’ve taken him out , I know I’m hearing a racist who’s ignorant of martial arts in general and have no real knowledge of Bruce Lee. They haven’t read any of Bruce Lee’s books or know who Bruce trained with or how fighting styles Bruce mastered besides wing chun. They don’t know that Bruce Lee grappled, fenced and boxed. They don’t know that Bruce Seen Muey Thai and other martial arts before they were seen in movies. They jokers think that fought like he did on screen. They think his grappling ability was just what they saw in movies. Ed Parker , Gene Labelle ,Joon Rhee were friends and training partners for years. I’m 60 now but 32 years ago I met older Brother who were students of Sensei Miner and Sensei Coefield that said that they met Bruce at tournaments in NYC in the 60s. That he was always impressed by Black fighters’s speed and agility.

      @stevenwgoode: A good grappling system will lead with the power hand because the lead hand establishes the initial connection before better control is established by the rear hand.

    I was curious as to why boxers fight with the weaker arm forward. This sounds reasonable below. Did Bruce Lee take this into account?
    "Strong Hand Weakened by Multi-tasking
    Placing the strong hand in front weakens the strength of that arm. First off, your strong arm is in the front which means you don’t have the maximum leverage in power of throwing it from the rear. The next problem is that the strong hand now has to do many things. It has to throw jabs and also block punches. All this extra responsibility takes away from the power of your dominant hand. So now you don’t have a dedicated strong hand. You’re fighting with 2 weak hands."

      I might be wrong but I would assume because a FIGHT is different from a boxing match.
      A fight isn't 12 rounds.
      It might last two minutes.
      My point....bring your best as soon as possible.

    • @TheUmmahFightCamp
      @TheUmmahFightCamp  หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @CrowdPleeza: The idea is basic buddy in that it is assumed and according to physics, rightly so, that an object traveling at a distance can have an advantage in the speed and velocity it picks up moving forward. While that is true, it is also true that a sudden burst forward coupled by the extension of the arm, creates as much if not more power. No what I mean?

Eating and drinking healthy certainly has its place, but at some point, ya have to run or walk briskly.

    Sorry, but frequent hard Sparring is not the way to go. Though I think it's necessary to experience, too frequently causes injuries and develops fear based reactions. Many of the top fighters no longer spar hard, they make it more like play so they can explore and work that which couldn't be worked during a super serious Sparring match. This approach goes for all full contact and grappling. I disagree with the idea that you should frequently spar hard.

    • @TheUmmahFightCamp
      @TheUmmahFightCamp  หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @Ninja9JKD: YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE CONTEXT IN MY VIDEOS OR YOU WILL MISUNDERSTAND EVERY TIME I SAY SOMETHING! I did NOT say that sparring hard was the best way to train! I SAID THAT BRUCE LEE MADE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF HARD SPARRING and that was in response to those who say he was NOT a real martial artist. I cannot do other videos as long as people do NOT LISTEN TO THOSE THAT CAME BEFORE.
