    I just got my Cruzr with the upgraded ropes and I too had no idea what those little tags were til I saw another video lol. Mine came with Prusik knots and now that that tender is hooked up they work fine, even breaking the Prusik is one handed for me. I was all set to buy a Kong but again, after hooking up the tender it's fine. One thing I am doing is changing out my tether knot and hitch cord to a eye to eye Prusik cord and tying a VT knot. When I did tree trimming I used a Hitch Climber set up and this knot was super easy to adjust and never binds up like the Prusik. I'm starting to see a lot of videos about saddle hunting that these guys are going to need an actual tree climbing saddle with all the stuff their putting on it. I still might buy the Kong for my lineman rope just for the definite one handed use while my other hand holds the lineman rope when advancing up the tree.

    Thanks for the video, I put my Kong duck on today and was pulling the rope against the teeth. I didn’t know about coming through the carabiner and pulling it along the groove. On another note, I saw you reference Genesis 1:26 in your intro. That reminded me to open my daily devotional and guess what… it was Genesis 1:26.

    Tie a swabish knot on to your Lyman rope it is just as effective as a prusik but you can break the knot with your hand a whole lot easier. That's what I have done and use. Then I repel with mad rock, and use a swabish knot as an auto block repelling. Try it 😃👍

    Weighing in at a hefty 230 pounds I find leaning on the Prusik knot makes it mighty difficult but not impossible to loosen when I want to change angles. Thanks for the info and safe hunting.

    If you haven't tried this yet take your prusik knot and put it above the kong and hook the loop onto your carabiner. For redundancies, if the kong dosen't grab for what ever reason the prusik will engage. So you wont fall all the way to the stopper knot. And it wont get jammed up tight cause your using it for a back up. Be sure to practice at ground level so your comfortable doing this. Good hunting & hunt safe

    Simply running the tag line back through the carabiner will work the same

    one comment.. if you switch the prussic to a michoacan hitch.. slides a lot easier after loaded using a tender and you can also decent under load if you really need to

    I’m interested in seeing how you tied the other end of the lineman rope to your saddle.

    • @wilddominionoutdoors2273

      Just a simple girth hitch knot on the linemans loop. It always stays connected and we store them in a dump pouch on our saddle.

    Pardon my lack of terminology, but this is the first video I’ve seen a Kong used on an ascender. I’ve usually seen it used in the bridge setup for when you’re set in the tree. My question for you is if you had one Kong, would you rather use it on the ascender during setup or the on the bridge for easier moves in the tree all day?

      On the lineman rope. UNLESS you have a prusik tender on the lineman, then put it on the tether. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for your insight on the Cruzer saddle my brother in Christ. I just got mine today and I found your video and you confirmed that the plastic thing is indeed a tender. Now it is time to practice. My saddle is a size 2 and the waist snugs up good but it feels lose in the rear…is that normal for a saddle or should they fit snug? I’m brand new to this.

    • @wilddominionoutdoors2273
      @wilddominionoutdoors2273  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Troy! Thank you for the feedback we appreciate it. Yes I would say a little lose in the rear is normal especially because of the pleat. Stay safe and enjoy Gods creation!

    I cannot find ANY setup instructions anywhere for the cruzr Xc. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place. But how do you connect the lineman’s rope to the saddle? I don’t want to just start untying all the knots that came with the kit

    • @wilddominionoutdoors2273
      @wilddominionoutdoors2273  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your good man…no need to untie anything just take your linemans and girth hitch it to the one linemans loop and then the carabiner will attach to the other side.

    SOOO...I bought the same saddle last year October and I got the upgraded ropes. I never got that Prusik tender like the one that you have...is that something they only recently provided in their kits?

    • @wilddominionoutdoors2273
      @wilddominionoutdoors2273  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Lee thanks for the comment. Based on what you said and the timeframe of us getting the kit I think it is something they started doing recently. Nice upgrade they threw in there.

    So you got 2 oval carabiners, but only used one. Stored the other for future use?
