The Playboy mags def the best part of this game, as a kid I had to keep the door closed while playing through this and it wasn't for the violence. Also the soundtracks of the franchise are unmatched, also, every wanted poster is a game dev from 2K Czech, pretty cool fact

2K is the worst of the worst, the game had such potential but because of 2k it got all into the drain, it all was gone since we could have had the game in 2011 or 2012 and be a absolute blast but it still is, just not as much emersion as we had hoped for
I always thought this was strange because parents are ok with ending lives but looking at beauty to want to start life is wrong?
I've played Mafia 2 a bunch of times across different platforms and, for whatever reason, I've never been able to get Leo out of that house without getting caught.
Also, the only hard section is the gunfight at Derek's docks. I never knew the way to cheat that part.
I dont know about the remaster but you can get into a car, drive into the water and when it resets the garage door closes and Dereks office is open. You can easily just hide and shoot from in there.
There's 3 ways to escape Leo's Mansion in Chapter 11, one of which I JUST used for the first time yesterday lol. First is the one you do for the the Trophy; use the bathroom sheets and escape down rear balcony. 2nd, escape through the kitchen; there's a side door that leads out to the Garage. 3rd, escaping through the front door; incapacitate the guard then use the Ascot Bailey to escape through the front gates.
And yes, Chapter 14 on Hard Diff is insanity, especially with Derek's molotov's having pinpoint accuracy. You can use the car method to cheese it but doing it legit, best method is to hide behind the metal pillar on the left. The molotovs can't get you at the right angle. The rest is trial and error...ALOT of it😂😂

You cant compare the story to other mafias, its too repetetive and the characters arent nearly as good

I just got platinum for this yesterday and the worst trophy by far is the one requiring you to collect all 189 wanted posters. This trophy wouldn't be so bad if there was an in-game guide showing you how to reach each poster but of course, considering how old this game is, it's not a surprise no guide was within the structure of the game.

I hope you have good luck with the Mafia 3 plat. I don’t know if the definitive edition fixed the trophy pops but that is one plat I don’t have from the 3 games for a reason.
I like mafia 3 alot and like the fact you can renivate sammy's bar with the way of the times dlc as it adds to the emotion of the dlc already has

IMPORTANT:
If you haven’t already started progress on Mafia 3, DO NOT close the app when going for the trophies, it’s been bugged since launch and it has a chance of resetting trophy progress… I learnt the hard way since I had to do 4-6 playthroughs to get the trophy (it should only take 2 playthroughs) it would be way easier and less painful if they fixed it… some people are lucky, most people aren’t.. so don’t close game mid playthrough! Beat the game, get the trophies and take a break before starting the second playthrough. Good luck.

ermmm wtf.. so because of a bug, I may have to keep the game open for the 50-70 hours it takes to platinum that game?!?!?! WOW.. they really dropped the ball big time with Mafia 3 trophies

I died on the kill Olivia marcano mission and it soft locked me in the loading screen what’s even worse is that she was the last one I had to Kill and I had done all the dlc, I was raging and I haven’t touched the game since, thinking abt going back and playing it again though
This was just as enjoyable as the Mafia 1 video. But again was expecting that so not too surprised. Looking forward to Mafia 3 and Titanfall 2

To address graphical fidelity: Mafia Definitive edition is a ground up remake, whereas Mafia 2 is just a QOL remaster
Mafia 3 has some brutal stealth mechanics and some fun tools! I would highly recommend doing the DLC expansions when the world opens up because you get some amazing items from completing them…they’re also quite unique and definitely add to the Definitive definition of Mafia 3!

Hey I’m not sure if you’ll be seeing this but I’ve been trying to get the platinum myself, but I’m running into some really bad frame lag/game not loading on chapter 14 specifically, while getting out after being kidnapped with joe. Any fix you know of?
got all the achievements when the DE came out. man i hated collecting all the wanted posters in the original game, so i hoped they would remove them in the DE, but no, they didn't...they even added 30 more

I Just platinumed mafia 2, I'm not a big fan of collectibles in a game... but I enjoyed all collectibles from this game of mafia though. I didnt feel bored even knowing I was through 189 collectibles because of definitive edition

The problem with mafia 2 platinum is Jimmy Vendetta DLC, it is grindy as fuck.
But it’s a dlc, wich means you don’t need to play it, neither do you need to own it in order to unlock platinum

I remember playing this on my PS4 pro, 2 months before i got my PS5 and this game was a mess on there, on serious cutscenes i was laughing as Vito was glitching and some missions were broken because thee map wouldn't load in.
Also this is a 6/10? Surprising as i found it easy.

Firstly, have fun with it! The game is epic.
Other than that, I'd say hardest difficulty playthrough, take your time, ALWAYS regen health before peaking, and for collectibles just put some YT vids on in the background as its gonna be boring lol

I got this platinum a couple days ago, debating getting the dlc trophies too to 100% it but the dlc trophies look horrendous 😢. Are you doing the dlc trophies?
You could do Mafia 3, ik its bad for story mission (at the start its fun but for coontinue meh) but the olny thing thats keep me playing is combat and you can send one of your friend men to help you (i will not say who is that) can you do video about playing mafia platium pleas?

So If you are looking for a new series to tackle for Platinums, might I recommend the Yakuza franchise. It's my personal favorite series in all of gaming.
Naturally that means starting with Yakuza 0 which is great and I would bet my heart that the writing in the Yakuza franchise is among the very best in gaming.
I hope you give the franchise a shot even if it doesn't turn out to be your kinda series. Take care and good luck Plat hunting!
hmmm okay.. what style of games are they? In terms of difficulty and learning curve, as "souls" type games I am awful at and can never finish
@@itsstuddy they aren't anything remotely close to Souls hard so don't worry on that front, I am no good at the Souls games either. The Yakuza Series of games are all an open world beat'em up, with an amazing story. I think Matt McMuscles once described the series combat gameplay as a 3D Streets of Rage & I honestly can't describe it better.
The combat is pretty straightforward, with heat action special moves, weapons & combos but you can get by with simply button mashing. It's entirely up to you how complicated you want to get, which is nice for me who is bad at fighting games.
But it's not just the story & fighting as there are the side activities & minigames like Karaoke, bowling, pool, the Cabaret club & the classic SEGA arcade games & more.
Really the best way to understand the franchise is to just jump into Yakuza 0. You can get it pretty cheap as it's in the PlayStation Hits set, and if you have PS+, it's in the Extra tier as are Yakuza Kiwani 1 & 2 the remake of the first 2 games.
@@itsstuddy dude, they may be some of the funniets, drama filled, entertaining blockbuster games ever made. Once you play Yakuza 0, you'll be hooked. And they're made to be platinumed.

Does the definitive edition not include the DLC from the original version of the game as well? That is what has kept me from reaching 100% on Steam with the original version of the game is that the DLC is just not great and really brings down what I already considered a pretty weak 100%. The collectables just really bring down this games 100%.The definitive version on steam as well also includes the DLC trophies as well.
I want to clarify the graphics here, Mafia 1 DE was a ground-up REMAKE released in 2020, whereas Mafia 2 DE is only a REAMASTER, it's still a 2010's game but with better textures (it looks better than the original Mafia 2).
Mafia 3 DE isn't any of those things, it's just a Mafia 3 released in 2016 but with all of the DLCs, no visual upgrade here.

happened to me bro, here's what you have to do sadly.
Delete all save data, delete the game off console, re-download and start all over again.
I'm kidding, you should be able to just load last checkpoint/last save and quit off the game, might take 2-4 tries but it should work

I have platinumed 2 out of 3 of this game series really loving the series so far 1 was brilliant and 2 was not as good but still a very solid game. I am just not looking forward to Mafia 3 seeing as you had so many problems with it.
I finished the whole campaign on hard yet the achievement never popped
