I really don't understand what is so confusing about what Armani is doing? All they did was standardize their bottles to make them all the same size, and put a magnetic cap on their Parfum fragrances (AdG Parfum, Profondo Parfum, and Code Parfum). Really not that hard.
@@NYRangers928 Frankly im still confused, there are two AdG Profondo's? The bottle is named the same? And even looks extremely similar? How exactly do I know which is which at the store? How do I even explain to a clerk which I want?

With ADG profondo parfum I just got a big blast of the violet leaf note with bits of that sweetness in the opening that you were describing, the mid and dry down were a bit better but nothing to write home about. Enjoyed watching the review though!

Thanks for the great review, Ash! I just purchased the Profondo EDP (2024) and man... it is awesome. I was thinking about waiting for the parfum version... but after your review... I'm glad I didn't. I look forward to smell it, but since I usually have same taste as you, I assume I won't like it either. Keep it up man!

Hey there! I have a really important question. Does the new Profondo EDP 2024 smell the same as the OG Profondo? I saw vids where they say its different, but some people say its the exact same fragrance, they just rebottled it. Which is it then? Thank you for the answer in advance!
Wooden caps for the old versions, plastic caps with magnets for the new except the ‘cheaper’ scents (edts) as they transition to the smaller sizes… There’s a summer 2024 version of AdG on the cards. Clear and turquoise blue bottle.

Acqua Di Gio Profumo was the best of the house it could be worn all year round had great performance even in the winter I still can't believe it was discontinue, ADG profundo smells like hair jell.
Do we know if the bottles have the same leakage issues as the new ADG parfum?
Hi Ash, wanted to let you know that acqua di Gio Parfum is 50/100/200ml in Europe already (non sure if it has magnetic cap, but I guess it does) it means that Acqua Di Gio Parfum 75/125 will be VERRRRRREY RARE in future like dior homme parfum

I just bought a 200ml old version profondo at a dutch retailer voor 115EU. The new one voor 125ml is like 130EU. I absolutely love the old version! I believe i got a great deal on this 200ml. :)
I think the 125ml bottles are also the old version, the new version comes at 100 ml bottles , if I'm not wrong.
I hate what they are doing with ADG, I wanted to buy profumo but I jumped onto the bandwagon too late, ADG Parfum turned out to be too weak and the new version (diffrent gradient) is allegedly even worse. Thanks L'Oréal, you never not disappoint
They say the OG parfum is also reformulated again. Can you compare them?
Ok. I just tried this. I like it a lot. To my nose it actually smells more like a flanker of ADG Absolu than Profondo. In my opinion it's a slightly darker version of Absolu, and I'm a fan of it. I can see this being somewhat like YSL Myslf in that it may get hate from within the fragrance community but receive a lot of love from the general public.

Tested the old version of AGD Profondo and really enjoyed its oceanic and refreshing vibe. Which version from the new release Profondo would be the closest to it EDP or Parfum?
I have tried a few of these and would say ADG Parfum is the closest thing to the old Profondo and Profumo.

To confuse the cap issue even farther the bottle of Parfum 2024 I bought from Armani has a magnetic cap 😂
Additionally, I'm not a huge fan either. I've had this about 6 weeks and I agree with all your points. Too sweet and heavy and would reach for the original Profondo over this 9 times out of 10.
It almost sounds with the "Green/leafy, sweet" notes that is closer to the regular Acqua Di Gio EDP. Obviously that's not "heavy/musty" but it certainly comes across as "Green/sweet and citrus".
Can you do review of EDT 2024? Apparently it's very close to OG and 8h longevity

At that price they should absolutely have magnetic caps. Not sure why they’re introducing new flankers AND reformulations at the same time. The bottle sizes being inconsistent is also maddening. You would think Armani would have a cohesive plan for the line, but it feels like different teams are working in different directions.
Guess I lucked out with the price I paid- $104.99 through Jomashop back on April 2nd. Of course I didn't get it until April 22nd (typical Jomashop), but saving $25 makes the wait a little more tolerable...

No difference in performance between 2023 and 2024. Very weak juice, the parfum in name is a joke.

I owned an returned because I haven’t noticed any difference in performance and longevity, so I prefer to have 125ml of weak parfum rather than 100ml of weak parfum at higher price
I'm soooo glad you dropped this and was honest even with your fanboy-ish attitude with ADG. Cause I was hyped too and refused to listen to the online hate of it. So I got a 10ml decant of the Parfum, Profondo 2024, and Profondo Parfum all together from a friend who's in Europe recently & I was just absolutely disappointed. Now a certain other TH-cam'er is beyond "Parfum" concentration biased so I couldn't listen to them. But I agree the green melting & sweetness was far too much & I love the green aspect to scents coming back. But everyone I let smell all 3 of these universally agreed this was the worst ADG they're smelling.

On the contrary i enjoy it more than the OG. Its a bit fruitier sweeter so it has more body. Also the gradient bottle and magnetic cap is a few more bonuses😅
I just got a bottle of the older profondo and I’m not sure if it’s gone bad or not but has anyone else noticed a strong alcohol smell in the opening
I wonder if Ash's opinion of this is going to evolve in the same way his opinion of Dior Homme 2020 did. His initial hesitation with DH 2020 was based on the fact that it did not meet his expectations of what a Dior Homme fragrance was supposed to smell like given the removal of the iris. But as a standalone fragrance, DH 2020 ended up being one of his favorite versatile scents, but it, again, was initially not what he was expecting.
Again, this new ADG Profondo Parfum seems not to be what he was expecting as an ADG flanker. Who knows? Maybe as a standalone fragrance he may grow to love it more. He already stated that his opinion of it is a little more favorable as of this video than when he first sprayed it.

Anyone know an Acqua di gio profound or Profumo clone other than Belcam’s (Walmart) Geau’ Black/blue, Maison Alhambra Jorge Di Profumo, Suqraat, or 360 red? Need an actually competent clone man.
ADG Parfum has switched from 75/125 no mag cap to 50/100 with mag cap. Look like that's the standard moving forward.

Armani is really going nuts with their rollout process, packaging, marketing, and on and on. Strange business decisions.
There is a new 2024 version of aqua di gio parfum with magnetic cap in sizes 50 ml, 100 ml and 150 ml. Maybe you need to try that one too. 😅
L'oreal and Armani needs to figure their thing out. For such a large house, they seem content releasing weaker reformulated fragrances for higher price. It still is a great house, but that's slipping.
Only Gios that should be sold is the OG, Profumo/Parfum, Absolu, Profondo and bring back Essenza or come out with very green forest version or tropical sweet version.
I'll stick to the EDP , that's my favorite
I bought a 200mL bottle of old Profondo a few months ago after trying many scents. I really like Profondo, but I liked Profumo even more. I don't know if I will be buying ADG again though if Armani keeps changing things around like this. There are some scents that have been around for 30-40 years and are still around (eg Fahrenheit, Azzaro Pour Homme, Eau Sauvage, etc). Armani needs to make something timeless and unforgettable...then leave it alone.

Love your videos. Your fragrance tastes match mine almost EVERYTIME. Fragrance notes are right on target. What Armani is doing with Acqua di gio line is pretty confusing but unfortunately your videos were equally confusing. Difficult to understand all the transitions, changes in names, etc. Difficult subject
Honestly, I think it's the minerality smell about profundo that I do not like. Why I bought a bottle a few years ago, and I can't wear it. I think it's that minerality smell. It's like a dry bitter smell

Profondo is basically an EDP concentration, and we as buyers were laughed at stupidly after the release of a new EDP at a higher price a few months ago, and then the dreaded Profondo Parfum was released with 0/10 LONGEVITY & SILLAGE, and the three perfumes are 95% similar to each other. I was a fan of Profondo from the beginning. A week ago, I received a sample of it. Acqua Di Gio Parfum 2023 edition, and I was impressed with the perfume and its consistency and fragrance because it is similar to Profumo. I bought a 200 ml bottle. The problem is that this is the latest edition with a magnetic cap. It was noticeably diluted. Imagine with seven sprays, and after two hours the perfume disappeared and I could no longer smell it. This is it. Armani Company, my friends, what is important is marketing and making money, and soon the turn will come on the Stronger With You line.
