Is it really that good? I haven't finished RDR2 on PS5 but now that this one is 60fps I'm thinking about buying this one day on sale
No it's the bare minimum now 100% worth a buy if on sale. It's full 4k 60fps with improved texture filtering.

Makes me wonder what is stopping them from making RDR2 hit 60fps.
Current consoles cant handle 60 fps locked.Even for modern PCs is hard to achieve it.

That's what made me buy it. Honestly, the game does not look all too bad. I am having a good time playing it. Bought a physical version though, no goodies inside sadly.

I was considering getting the Switch version before this update came out, but now I’ll probably get this version for the PS5.
Same, I put it in wishlist. I wanted to wait until it got to 20€ or something but after the 60FPS patch I got it when it was 35.
I really wanted to replay it sitting on the couch and playing it at 60 made it worth the extra money for me.

cause i have gone higher and its just, i just drop down idiotic post process that makes the games into a blurry muddy pixel mush and play on lower quality with 100+ fps if i can. 165 would be ideal as thats my screen but hey ho.
most games are still stuttering so much because of asyn shader stupidity its like playing at 10 fps...

Can you guys make a video about Payday 3? Especially on consoles since there's a few graphics settings that arent exactly clear about what they are. Anti-Aliasing has settings ranging from "Off, FXAA, Performance, and Quality" and also an Upscaling setting ranging from "Native, Quality, Balanced, Performance and Ultra Performance"... would love to know exactly how these effect gameplay on consoles. They already have a ps5 version of RDR2 and GTA5 it but its not a free patch ever with Rockstar, like wicher3 has and 155 other ps4 games have .

why am i experiencing an audio bug when indoors in this game? Its a high pitched noise that almost sounds like feedback when someone is playing piano or speaking? So frustrating!
If only FromSoft did this for Bloodborne.

For playstation player's what has your experience with bugs and glitches been like? For me on switch the more you play the more you see and by a 100 hours there pretty common and annoyingly all ive seen were on PS3 back in the day when i played?

I still hope they make a pc & xbox version, because the fsr2 really cleans it up, combined with 60fps massive upgrade, and the auto HDR from xbox is the only thing missing. Really I hope they just do a proper remake of this game.
well u can play this game on yuzu emulator on pc it runs very good at 60fps in 2k or 4k

On launch it was so disappointing I didn’t even think about paying for this, though I really love the game and really want to replay it- but now I’m interested. Maybe on sale some time.

They could easily patch the 360 version on serirs x with vsync atleast to have the ability yo togglr between 30-60fps am sure it wouldnt tsoe much effort
A few small glitches on release date which is today .I got my copy from Amazon for £34.90.I've been playing the games and noticed a few glitches and some graphic imperfections but I guess they will sort it over the next coming months but got to say this game deserved a full remake not remaster best of the titles is this title

No, you don’t! You can run any PS4 games, with backward compatibility extra performance, from an external drive. The only difference between SSD and external storage is loading times, not performance

I was so excited when they released this remaster and was utterly disappointed when I learned that it wouldn't run at 60. So excited to enjoy this masterpiece at a higher framerate.

I remember reading that RDR's source code was a mess, which is why they never even tried to port it to PC back then. They clearly solved this problem when they decided to port it to Switch, so I don't know why they decided to not do a PC port now

@@Oshadorin Nah, I guess that they won't update a thing, unless they release a proper next gen (ps5 and series x) remaster of rdr1 along with the pc port. If that's not the case, then they will release the port as it is on pc eventually. This strategy of rockstar usualy first releasing in the consoles and then pc is usually due to the fact that many people will buy first on consoles (the only versions available at the moment) and then the pc one for mods, better graphics and stuff like that, that way they can double their profit. probably the same thing that's happening with this port

Looks awesome with BFI on High looks like 300FPS. Just turn up the brightness contrast and saturation in game and it will look brighter.

It’s strange, a ps4 Skyrim mod let’s you play at 60fps and it works fine honestly, wonder what the stress would be for adding it to rdr

It makes the game look twice as good and feel twice as good. Why the hell it wasn't like this by default, I have no idea and it does now date the physical copy, which is a massive shame.
That being said, it got me to actually buy it.

I assumed they kept the game 30fps to mesh well with RDR2, which also plays at 30 frames on consoles. Had they released the game at 60fps, I would've been playing it on my ps5, as I wanted to play the first one before the second. I'll play RDR2 when they release a 60fps patch for that one as well. If not, I'll wait until I upgrade my pc.

Guys the reason is because rockstar treat the consumer like crap, that's why they didn't bother with it.
Xbox 360 games have generally devent visuals remastering them with 4k 60fps treatment if pricr right makes alot of sense. I dont understand why companies dont go back through older games and release 4k 60fps patches for them rvrn charge £5 for it.

Just a quick note: This was done by Double Eleven, not by Rockstar.
They ported the game, upscaled the resolution, uncapped 30 and locked game at 60 fps.
None of things were done by Rockstar. Rockstar hired them to do it.
Rockstar knows to make so much mess that RDR2 and GTA 5 both suffer from game freezing for second which RDR2 has micro stuttering (after Naturalist update) and worst release version on consoles (with messing up John Marston's body turning into Arthur Morgan's body after many updates).
GTA 5 on PS4 and XOne suffers from so many loading textures and low fps now after so many updates.
And they did GTA 4 worst port on PC.
They need to unlock the framerate cap on Red dead 2 too on ps5 and Xbox SX...Pretty sure the hardware can do it with minimum effort...when you see the PC version the game on console its maybe on medium preset or something like this...
It's actually Ultra Textures and every other setting at either high or medium except for the advanced settings, practically every advanced setting is actually lower than low and water physics are a lot worse. They could run at 60 FPS with a better look, the PC version is much better and these new consoles could get some graphical settings turned up.

i have this game and played it few hours on my series x at 30 fps. It sucks to play it at 30 fps.

I think the Xbox BC version should get FPS Boost.
Original game breaks if the frame rate gets uncapped. The PS5 version was altered so that there are no frame-rate related bugs. Microsoft can't do that, only Rockstar themselves and only if they release this on Xbox properly.

No it's because microsoft did the Xbox version rockstar didn't think it was necessary even digital foundry said it. That's extra work they don't want to do when you're not gonna pay their lazy asses. The Xbox version you can buy dirt cheap the ps5 version is full price I think. Funny because the ps5 version is only a port meaning they barely did any work.
There are many backward compatible 360 games that received FPS boost (Ass. Creed, Fallout 3+ New Vegas, Mirror's Edge etc.)@@davidludwig7501

Has anyone tried the performance mode on xbox series s/x in the 360 menu?
I believe that that Performance mode simply runs any 360 game in its original resolution (in RDR, 720p) instead of enhancing it to 4K (in One X and Series X) or 1440p (in Series S).
In other words, you are still locked at 30 fps. That option made more sense for the One X consoles, especially when the emulator was still a bit rough around the edges, in order to achieve more stable framerates in certain games.

More work was put into the L.A. Noire remaster and there's even a 50% discount every few months during PS store sales. Those top execs need to get off the high horse.
But that was actually done by Rockstar same with Bully and GTA5 PS4 version.
PS4 pro could run that maybe checkerboarded or 1440p or 1800p
I hope the physical version comes with this patch. Would help in the future when PS5 is no longer supported and the servers go offline.

Hopefully by then the PS5 has a thorough hacking scene and these digital patches and games are archived for download and install

Ps5 & ps4 already runs 4k 30 so 1080p 60 is not an issue on the ps5 and reason it’s not on pc is because rockstar is fed up w cheaters look what they did with rdo and people ask why they abandoned it … should of stayed as a console game period

Every single Rockstar Game runs at less than 30 FPS on PS4, this one wouldn't be able to achieve 60 FPS either because of the weak CPU.
I wonder what keeps the devs from porting to PC. RDR 2 is a great experience with good performance and loads of settings to tweak. Why not do that for this game?

It wouldn't, this game run worse than GTAV on PS3 and PS4 has an awful CPU, it's actually amazing that the game runs at 30 FPS with no drops on PS4 and also GTAV runs awful on PS4, they did a pretty good job.

At this point, I think devs dont include 60 fps due to drama and politics. Remember how journos and devs complained with BG3? And how we should keep expectations low? Well, maybe those who can achieve 60 fps even in old games like RDR, dont want to so that other companies dont get the pressure and so gamers dont get used to 60 fps.

@vandammage1747 the lootbox system in mass effect 3 online is probably why they didn't bother with it. I really hope that the next game can somehow recapture the mass effect 3 online greatness without the bad lootbox upgrade system but I won't hold my breath.
