    For me, Woolly World's gameplay is so tight. The original Yoshi's Island made Yoshi one of my favorite characters to control in a 2D platformer, and I feel like Woolly World is the only other game to truly nail the original's feel.
    Also, I admit, the grocery trip had me laughing like a baffoon xD

    Wooly world is by far my favorite Nintendo game hands down the gameplay is very creative and the art style is immaculate and seeing you create a yoshi out of wool make you feel like you accomplished something and it never gets boring somehow. Not to mention when you play with your family it’s the most fun and chaotic experience ever.

    Incredibly thorough analysis !!!!
    You seem to have a really firm grasp on all the detailed nuances that Nintendo has on their pallete.
    And your level of taste and judgement on ALL those details, is truly incredible.
    Sincere props for this magnificient video !!!! Gonna watch all your others no doubt !
    I encourage you to EXPAND your channel & review some of the other incredible Nintendo IP’s if you like em :
    1. Super Mario Wonder
    2. Super Paper Mario (2d/3d combo-mechanic platformer, NOT an RPG)
    3. Super Mario 3d World & Bowser’s Fury
    And maybe some other GORGEOUS platformers like:
    Cuphead
    Rayman Origins
    Rayman Legends
    Ori & the Will of the Wisps
    Anyways, Peace & blessings and props for such a supremely detailed albeit limited channel !!!!

    What really annoys me is the fact that they got rid of all the Amiibo Yoshi's, and the Yoshi Pallettes in general. Small customization is something I've always loved in gaming. It doesn't have to be something big, but the ability to customize or change appearance of you character is one of those touches that makes the player feel unique when playing the game. All of the Amiibo Yoshi Skins we're great, being that they were a way to represent most of your favorite Nintendo characters, even without Smash Bros. and the rewards for finding all of the Wonder Wool in the Extra Stages gave you Yoshi's based off of all the Different Nintendo Home Consoles, from NES all the way to Wii U. The reward for 100%ing the game, A Platinum Yoshi, also felt really special. The 3DS version letting you make your own skins was even better, especially if you used the editor to it's full potential. You could make a Yoshi of almost anything or anyone
    Not only do the costumes look incredibly clunky, but an already easy game didn't need a way to take extra hits. Amiibo support returns, but unlike Wooly World which had pretty much every Smash character besides the Pokemon, Crafted world has amiibo Support ONLY for the some of the Mario characters and the only Amiibo costume I thought looked decent was the Mario and Luigi ones.
    I get what they were trying to do, since Yoshi was not made of Yarn, but they still could've made the Pallettes come back over the unnecessary costumes

      Totally agreed. Being on the Wii U, and even the 3DS, I feel that not enough people got the chance to experience the game. A Switch port would definitely help with that! • @disneyvillainsfan1666

      @@TheYoshiFanatic Okay, on second thought, I think it would be best if Nintendo didn't port Wooly World to the Switch. Theres a 50% chance it could have some new improvements and modes . . . But there's also another 50% Chance it would be the same game as before for $60, with not much changes to justify the price. But hey, you never know.

    • @TheYoshiFanatic
      @TheYoshiFanatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's certainly a good point, especially given Nintendo's track record with Wii U ports. It'd probably be a port more like DKC Tropical Freeze than SM3DW+Bowser's Fury. Still, Woolly World is great, and I think more people getting to play it would be nothing but a good thing.

    What a great video! I always loved Yoshi’s Woolly World and hated Crafted World. I think Crafted World was really uninteresting and boring. There was no reason to collect the collectibles which is a shame since Woolly had a reason for almost each collectibles and the rewards were great. The multiplayer in Woolly World was really good to me and playing it with my brother was a blast while the multiplayer in Crafted World was awful for some reason (maybe the level design) we kept eating each other by accident making the progression through the game in multiplayer a pain. Also, I immediately missed the badge system as it was a cool way to ease the game or simply have fun. When I saw that I couldn’t play through Crafted World with Poochy all the time, my disappointment was immeasurable.

      Thank you! I agree with pretty much everything you said. Though I certainly don't hate Crafted World. On the contrary, I think it adds some interesting changes to the Yoshi formula, and I adore the "egg jump". Still, to me, it is definitely the quintessential mixed bag Yoshi game.

    Crafted World for me for the pure true look of Yoshi and most of the main colors. Albeit NOT as cute or unique as their yarn cousins. Though I WISH for the ultimate Yoshi game with ALL them colors. Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Purple, Green, Black, White, light blue and red/ sky and pink, Brown and Cyan or Teal ( mix of blue+green )and pure classic with each color have unique abilities! look but you could unlock yarn mode, morphing the game into yarn mode you can switch back and forth at main menu. Would demand alot of effort but worth it Imo!

    • @TheYoshiFanatic
      @TheYoshiFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting! Like I said in the video, I'm largely over the whole "hand crafted" look that both games go for, but I find Crafted World's aesthetic to be more "immersion breaking", if that makes any sense. To me, especially in the outdoor levels, it looks like Yoshi is running around in your back yard or in a toy box, whereas in Woolly World, it's easier to believe that Yoshi resides in a world that's just made of yarn.
      I will admit, though, that Crafted World looks quite impressive from a raw horsepower sort of standpoint. It was made using Unreal Engine 4, and it looks great as a result.

    • @odinulveson9101
      @odinulveson9101 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheYoshiFanatic Understand that aesthetically its not coherent. Its not meant to be. In Crafted world the Yoshis are like at a stage, theathre, a play. Not in their true world but a fictional one. I do wish for a Yoshi game with ALL them colors AND unique abilities for each. Imagine that? RedYellowBlueOrangePurpleGreenBlackWhiteBrownLight red+blue/ sky+pink and even a cyan or teal ( green mixed with blue ) Yoshis which I assumed light blue were at a glance😂 Want my Yellow Yoshis to stomp earthquakes inherently but not depend on eating to do it like in Super Mario World

    • @TheYoshiFanatic
      @TheYoshiFanatic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@odinulveson9101 Interesting ideas for different abilities depending on the Yoshi colors! I imagine that it would be difficult to design the levels around, but it would be cool.
      Also, fair point about the artstyle, but even if it is supposed to be a stage play, the point is that it's still a one-off throwaway story, an ultimately meaningless jaunt into a world that doesn't contribute anything to the larger world of Mario or Yoshi. I know the Mario series of games and its adjacent series of games isn't big on story or world-building, but at least the Yoshi's Island games felt like they could have actually taken place in the Mario universe. Both Woolly World and Crafted World just feel like a kid playing with plush dolls in a world of his imagination. That kind of thing didn't used to bother me so much, but nowadays I've gotten frustrated with it.

      I honestly have a tough time deciding which music I like better between Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Woolly World. Island's music is classic, and evokes mystery and wonder in the underground levels especially. On the other hand, Woolly World's music is so calming, and it's all wonderfully orchestrated, plus there's a unique song for at least half of the levels. It's so hard to choose!

      @TheYoshiFanatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess the best advice I can give is to figure out what videos you'll be passionate about making, and put your best foot forward. And don't be afraid failing. I tried a bunch of different types of videos (let's plays, podcasts, unboxing videos) before finding a video format that got any attention.
      Bottom line is this: if you make a video that people will want to watch, TH-cam's algorithm might start recommending it to people. That's why my top ten video got as many views as it did.
      Also keep in mind that I don't get many views or have many subscribers either, so I may not be the best guy to ask about TH-cam advice. But I hope that this helps!

      I definitely agree that Yoshi's Island is better, but Woolly World and Crafted World aren't awful by any means. A surprising number of people actually think Woolly World is better than Island.
      Island has more challenge and is more appealing to a broader demographic than just children and completionists, but I think there's a lot of fun to be had with Woolly World especially. If you haven't tried Woolly World, I'd recommend giving it a go. You might be pleasantly surprised.

    I’m 24 and I died 7 times on The secret boss stage. Yoshi‘s crafted world is a very fun game, and I absolutely love it! But the challenges Nintendo gave us are very stupid. Defeat a boss in a certain time? Okay fair enough. But beat a boss WITHOUT taking damage once? That was the worst thing ever. Kamek’s final stage screwed me over coz of the button lag on the go go Yoshi part. You can’t tap the button to spam the giant boxer, you have to tap it rhythmically in order to get all the little airplanes which is a very stupid choice. If Nintendo makes another Yoshi game here’s a way they could fix the flower challenges. Instead of taking damage just once and having to start all over if we mess up, try to beat the boss without taking damage five times. This gives us a chance to really plan out our attacks and it gives us more chances to try. That’s just my opinion anyway.

    • @TheYoshiFanatic
      @TheYoshiFanatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to give Crafted World credit where credit is due: the boss challenges were a welcome addition to me, especially the time challenge and the boss-specific challenge (like hitting Burt the Bashful when his back is turned). The no damage challenge is actually a big improvement over how the bosses in other Yoshi games are handled. There weren't boss challenges in the other games, but if you wanted to "perfect" a level, which included having full health, you had to beat the boss without taking damage at all, and if you got hit, you had to either restart from the checkpoint or replay the level. If you haven't played the other Yoshi games, it's pretty similar to the Shogun's Castle level, which includes a mini-boss fight at the end.
      I will definitely say I agree on the Go-Go Yoshi section of the Kamek boss fight. I loved the fight other than that very frustrating part. It definitely took me a while to beat that one!
