Tarps are the best way to go so versatile Blackie. I have never seen this particular set up, but have made a few configurations that mimic tents with enclosures. With the tarp you also get the option of flying it, or several open air set ups. Thank you for sharing this set up I will have to give it a shot next time I am out in the dirt!

I was very impressed with that tarp at Frozen Foot. It was a great looking shelter. The "story" of how you got it was fun as well :) Thanks for sharing brother!

These videos are so informative. Thanks Blackie. Could you spend a couple of minutes on picking where to set up your shelter so one doesn't end up with a river running through it in a decent rain. THANKS AGAIN ;)

Hey Blackie. I've just discovered your channel and subscribed. It didn't take me long to realize that you're at the lake in GSF. I don't live far from there and have spent a lot of time in those woods. Anyway, enjoying the videos. Keep them coming!

Good informative video . I have never seen this exact type of set up before , it's a real good one . Keep these video's coming . My tarp is a 10´X 12´ , I'm wondering if this set up will work with it ? I´ll have to try it out and see .

I like a Dimond in nice weather to a little crapy. In a full blown midwest gully washer somewhere between not so much and oh hell no. Leaning towards the hell no. At that point it's as close to the ground as possible with a water trench. 3 to 5 inches an hour with 70mph + wind gusts possible. If I'm smart I'd already be on the road home because some things are crazy.

I think I remember the directions for a DIY tarp like this in either the boy scouts field manual or the hand book, maybe in boy life from back in the 50's I know that I talked my mother into making it... And I remember that is was bulky and heavy to tote (for a 10 year old kid) but was a good tarp

I ordered a new tarp and it won't be here in time for your get together this coming weekend 😔.
Might have to use my tent or a cheap poly tarp.

Just add a raised bed made of sticks and a civil war style tick mattress and you would sleep like a king in there.
