I used to work for Yammie, his channel helped me as a new rider. He went from remote team to in-house with the office building and basically amped up his giveaways. With the changes, I was cut since I was freelance. I don't get why he posted or even made the video, but I can say his content has been lacking for awhile. When I got cut, I unsubscribed. Yammie Noob used to be a dude who loved motorcycles and made funny videos. I'm shocked at how big the channel has become, but it's lost it's originality over the years. Spite and I never really interacted, since he did videos and I was a writer. His work was great and he was always focused on content that would expand the channel's audience. I hope for the best for Spite because he deserves it, he has his own brand and style to bring to TH-cam. I have nothing bad to say about Yammie. I don't think he made a good decision with the video, it should have been private.
Hey Nicholas! Thanks for commenting. It's great to get an insiders view. I think you captured the sentiment i was going for and you helped to reinforce it. There is no doubt in my mind that Spite was a hug lift to the channel, but I think Yammie did him a favor and let him thrive outside of Eric's shadow. I'd love your thoughts on my other video I just released about Josh no longer being on the team.
@@riddlerrides no problem. I was a script writer between July 2019 and March 2020. I don't know any of the other members of the team, as they probably came onboard after my contract ended or were not mentioned to me. When I started there was another freelance writer but their contract ended shortly after I began. They had good content, but I was brought onboard because I could explain mechanical things in detail. The other video editor (Nate?) was let go shortly after. I was there for Jammy Jay as well. Eric is really smart and financial decisions are his strong suit. I think it's possible that he was caught up with the flow of the channel growth and woke up realizing that he became what he was trying to escape. He honestly mentored me in motorcycle riding and the gig paid for my first bike. I learned a lot working with him and in our personal conversations. I remember when Spite came onboard that Eric gave this feeling of a partnership and the two were going to create and produce a lot of content together. I had this looming feeling that I'd get let go and eventually it happened. It was a 3rd wheel feeling because I was remote and not on location with them. My sole opinion is that the channel strayed from the comedy style lists and tried to encompass all of the motorcycle world in one place. As a beginner and for comedic relief, I watched Yammie Noob. The channel really helps newbies to understand the terminology of the lifestyle and the different riders that exist. It also points out a lot of the ridiculousness in motorcycling, such as beginners on liter bikes, stretched bike riders that can't turn, and how smaller bikes get so much hate. Because I wanted a GSX-R 600, I watched Str805Speed. When I learned how to ride I started watching DanDanTheFireman. Now as a rider with 3 years of experience I tend to watch MotoJitsu to touch up on my skills. If I need to know about gear, RyanF9 or RevZilla. I'm interested to see where Spite and Yammie go with their channels, but being honest here, I don't really watch many TH-cam videos on motorcycling anymore.

It's his company. Doesn't makes sense why he fired Spite but, that's his call. Spite has all the knowledge and talent to be successful w/ his own channel.
Why reel off all the reasons to be fired if you don't then link them to the story at hand? There is no need to speculate on the reason why Jake (Spite) was fired - Eric (Yammie) told us in the original video. While he had every right to get rid of Jake, it was clear that the way he went about it was cruel and callous, and ultimately very damaging to his brand. Jake has emerged as the winner here and many of Eric's subscribers have woken up to just what a nasty, egocentric sociopath Eric is.
Yeah, I was trying to leave it open to letting the audience pick. I have my own thoughts from my experience in leading teams - when you let someone go that fast, something happened but it wasn't serous enough for the channel to mention. Again, just my guess but I was also trying to be cautious of slander on either side.
I really don't think Yammie deserves to be cut any slack on this one. I liked his channel and I liked both he and Spite (I also thought it was Spike for months). I actually didn't watch the video originally, as I thought it was some type of click-bait joke. I only learned about everything with the fallout. There is nothing about all of his hard work in building a channel that in any way entitles him to a break here. This is about basic human decency. The reasons Yammie gave for his decision make no sense. I assume there's more to the matter; but without knowing what that is, I have to take his stated reasons at face value, and that makes him look petty and small. It's actually put me off his content. I don't have any hate or ill-feelings toward him, I just don't feel like watching anymore. I don't like seeing people treated that way.
Couldn’t agree more. Also I can’t find anyone to hear out my thought on the fact that spite had to buy a KLR while Yammie was buying multiple new dirt bikes, trucks, vacations, hiring new people, then out of no where (for us viewers) just bam spites fired. I really feel like it was about money, it had to be right?
I understand. That was my initial reaction also. I just have a sneaking suspicion there is more to the story and a guy like Eric with a degree from UT Dallas in Marketing is smarter than he looks. I work with young founders and this isn't unusual behavior when they have rapid success.
A completely unbiased video, I missed the whole thing but this video gave me a good insight and I must say although Yammie couldve gone a better way about it, I don't understand all the hate he had been receiving. It's his channel and he can hire/fire who he wants
It was very clear, both from the video content & Yammie Noob's replies in the comments section before the video was deleted, the reason he fired Spite was because he was taking too much of the spotlight away from Yammie, and Yammie thought that he was paying Spite too much to "demote" him & keep him on the channel. It was purely a business decision & there was no hint of any misbehaviour from Spite that would get him fired. It's Yammie's channel & his call, but the quality of his video's have taken an appreciable hit in the aftermath & clearly aren't as good as when Spite was there.

Most people have sit behind a desk just to put food on the table and "keep the lights on". So when "Eric" complains about having to do that (for 6 - 8 hours a day, oh my!) and uses that as a reason to fire a well liked employee and then goes on to talk about all the money he's been raking in, and all the new people he's hiring, it's bound to go over like a lead balloon. Dude just fired a core player that got his channel to million + subscribers. He should be happy spite isn’t trying to create some type of civil lawsuit
Eric is one of the talent. Spite had become just as important and visible. Regardless of the reasons for dismissal there are three things that are certain: 1. Eric had the right to fire Spite. 2. He did it in the worse way possible. 3. I don’t have to watch the channel any longer and certainly will not.
Yeah if he's firing spite for one of the HR bigs he could have been up front, or just given spite the chance to walk out "for personal reasons" and avoided all of the drama.
Hey, nice video. I agree that there was likely more going on than we could see from the outside. This suggests to me that, since we don't know the full story, we should probably try not to be too harsh and judgemental.
Right? It's on his website. I was surprised to find it. He's also on LinkedIn as Eric Barros. I never cared about who he really was until the firing video.
If I had to guess, Spite wanted a Share of the business (as a Partner). The new management team is probably getting that (ownership shares, bonuses etc.) and then “advised” Eric to cut Spite.
You might be onto something. If this was true, it is still a dumb move. Aside from that lame video, you do not let go of a source of your revenue. Spite was huge to the channel. Trading in talent for overhead was not a good move. I noticed that his video views are a lot lower. Time will tell.
Yeah, I never realized how much I liked Spite. He definitely expanded the viewer base. Spite leaving is a huge loss. I'm guessing Spite was NOT feeling the love, with the Corporate Sharks taking over. He deserves better than just a Salary Job, so if that's all that was being offered, he's better off leaving and doing something more rewarding. Eric will soon see, that his on screen time needs to be administered in smaller doses. Nobody can handle extended exposure to Pappa Yam.
You might be onto something. I didn't even think of the fact that the other folks on the staff could've felt threatened by Spite's rise on the channel. I am probably way too fascinated with this.
What if Spite actually wanted to resign - are there any benefits to being fired instead of resignation? Like tax cuts that employers can take, or maybe "benefits" to the person fired like separation pay or anything like. Just entertaining the idea that maybe Spite was going to resign anyway, but it somehow made better sense for one or the other to make it look like someone was fired out of redundancy. Just a thought.
The whole reason I made this video (and I knew it wouldn't be as popular as piling on with the angry mob) was because something didn't sit right with me. Yammie being a sociopath is not an explanation. I still stand behind the idea that it seemed very rushed for some reason.
I personally would have expanded the channel with Spite. Spite definitely gets some credit . That's why it doesn't make sense to me and I think something happened. But ultimately it's the "Yammie" show.
Did you forget years ago about the character who had a wreck with no license and then used a go fund me to buy a new motorcycle yeah that shows a lot about his character
I can't forget that, it was totally irresponsible. I address that and, as I mentioned, he does say in some of his videos lately that the racing behavior needs to stay on the track and not on the streets.
Fair video, and you raised some interesting points about what might have happened, but I think you should change the tilte, it does make it sound like you are taking Erik's side and defending him from all criticism, which you obvious didn't
Thanks. I appreciate your take. Interesting that I get a lot of comments about sounding like I'm an apologist for him, his friend or something. Trying to cover all sides of the event in a logical way to get people thinking. Yammie Noob has passionate haters and fans.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of having very detailed notes, but wanted to keep this one tight and precise since there was a bit of controversy. Thanks for watching.
If my boss pulled me in and said hey I’m firing you but we’re going to do a video and paste it on our corporate website… I might let him do it then sue the living shit out of him for trying to ruin my life. Then if that didn’t work, I’d find him in the parking lot later. What an absolutely shitty way to treat a person.
So he cut Spite (who had become the soul of the channel) after claiming views were up and that he hadn't been in videos lately...sounds like he was jealous that his audience preferred Spite
Listing other possible HR reasons Spite got fired is not really cool. Yammie is the talent? You are not acknowledging that Spite was a huge reason for Yammie’s growth. Nor did Yammie acknowledged it in that cringy video. Asking him what he did at Yammie was boarder line insulting. So yeah he deserves the backlash.
Yeah, I'm either way wrong about thinking there was more under the surface or way right. Either way, I hope I'm wrong because I like Spite. I just couldn't get over how rushed the whole thing was. It still doesn't make sense from a very organized production staff.
“The Talent” I mean CEO I mean Voldemort clearly stated the reasons. If that wasn’t the reason why make the cringy video in which he wanted to be transparent for the sake of his brand? Obviously a misjudgment by YN. The only thing to speculate about is the severance and NDA or lack thereof. The only reason for Spite to do this is to get a check on his way out and to embrace letting viewers see the real YN.
What are you talking about dude? Your whole statement makes no sense and is clearly worded and put together terribly. Can't tell who you are talking about in which way. Spite had no control over anything or anything to do with the video being made. It was in his contract that if he was ever fired, let go or left there would have to be a video made about it with him in it. Pretty safe to say Yammie did that to try to make it look like it was a mutual thing instead of him just canning Spite because he is jealous and insecure that Spite is more likeable. Not to mention how Yammie thinks he is so much better and above everyone else because he can "afford" to buy and ride the best of the best bikes and whatever he wants...shit talking on cheaper bikes that most of his fans probably ride, who are also the reason he is able to do any of the things he can. The dude is so arrogant and blinded by it that I don't even think he realizes that how everyone sees him.
I have zero sympathy for Eric, the same way he exhibited zero empathy for Jake in that cringe video. I hope the rise of Spite's Corner continues and wish him more success than Yammy could ever dream of.
I fully agree with this. I love Spite and Yammie. We don't know what was truly going on within the business itself. It's not particularly out business to know. I'm just glad Yammie asked his subs to go to Spites channel to help him out, and I'm super glad that the community has given Spite a hand up. Hell if nothing else we should thank Yammie because now we have an extra channel of content to watch! We win!
I do agree that Yammie did Spite dirty and could of handled the situation much much better, just to be clear. I am glad Spites on his own and well I'm pretty sure Spite can grow his channel bigger than yammies.
This video has way more dislikes than it deserves. I feel like the a lot of the comments calling Yam an evil sociopathic asshole who never changed at all after the Porsche crash, are maybe a tad unwarranted. Just a little. Saying Yam never changed from the street squid he was before is just straight up not true; after all that incident is what made him become such a huge advocate of taking it to the racetrack, like you said. Don't get me wrong, I vehemently disagree with Yam's decision to cut Spite; I had to unsub after the video came out as I just couldn't watch his videos anymore, and then went over to sub to Spite. I think he should've tried to find a way to include him in the channel while still making the videos he wanted. That being said, none of us know the real reason, and probably never will. We have to accept that we just don't know. If you feel that strongly about the situation, best thing you can do is simply support Spite.
Yeah I was a bit disappointed in the dislikes but it's par for the course these days when people do not want to hear a different side of the story. It's also fascinating that there are so many people who do not like Yammie but he has such a huge following.
No. No matter WHAT the reasons were for letting Spite go was not valid for the guy that raised your subscribers by almost a full million in a bit over two years. The only acceptable reason for Spite leaving was by his own choice. Yam messed up, honestly.
someone finally sticking up for yam! lol I fell like you and @postocalypse are the only ones who brought any kind of rationale to this situation. SUBSCRIBED!
This was nice to see. I've seen a lot of the criticism and felt most was unfair to Yam. On the other hand this might be the best thing to happen to Spite since at this point his own channel has grown so much.
Bro keep up the good work! I think you can improve your thumbnails and get a lot of views. There are some specifics that can make your channel skyrocket.
The wreck with the Porsche was not his first and only wreck. He was full on MaxWrist and has totaled several bike bikes before that incident. Unlike Max though he finally learned his lesson.
Agreed. I don't believe Yammie is a sociopath. I think he just rushed into this for some reason. But when you're that much in the public's eye, errors are magnified. Success is more to manage than some people understand. We all can't be as chill and cool as Keanu Reeves

I understand, it was a bad move. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Eric is one of the talent. Spite had become just as important and visible. Regardless of the reasons for dismissal there are three things that are certain: 1. Eric had the right to fire Spite. 2. He did it in the worse way possible. 3. I don’t have to watch the channel any longer and certainly will not.
Very balanced opinion. Thank you.
Eric can do any video he wants on his own channel. I believe he is jealous of Spite's popularity
Yeah if he's firing spite for one of the HR bigs he could have been up front, or just given spite the chance to walk out "for personal reasons" and avoided all of the drama.
Agreed, the whole approach was bizarre.
Hey, nice video. I agree that there was likely more going on than we could see from the outside. This suggests to me that, since we don't know the full story, we should probably try not to be too harsh and judgemental.
Totally agree.
I get it. He has grown but my heart is crushed. It's hard to see your side but my brain does see it and mildly agree . Good video man keep it up !
Why did nobody ever tell me his name was Eric
Right? It's on his website. I was surprised to find it. He's also on LinkedIn as Eric Barros. I never cared about who he really was until the firing video.
@@riddlerrides yup! Same here.
Spite was the relatable character. Yammie noob isn't relatable. He dun goofed
Yeah, I'm a Spite fan. He always covered my point of view
Has the original video been remobed from yt?
Yammie took it down
We will never know the full story. I did not appreciate the public hanging of Spite. Could have been done better.
It was a huge miss for sure. I am still a fan of Spite's. He just a very likable guy.
Did you watch the video, Spite was in shock...
Filing for Unemployment is a benefit to be firing as opposed to quitting
The whole reason I made this video (and I knew it wouldn't be as popular as piling on with the angry mob) was because something didn't sit right with me. Yammie being a sociopath is not an explanation. I still stand behind the idea that it seemed very rushed for some reason.
You said yam is the talent but spite brought him up from 300k to 1million within 2 years. Wtf?
I personally would have expanded the channel with Spite. Spite definitely gets some credit . That's why it doesn't make sense to me and I think something happened. But ultimately it's the "Yammie" show.
Without Spite it's painful to watch.
I agree, I really liked Spite on the channel
You keep reading off your script… the fire rises
Yeah, I'm not a fan of having very detailed notes, but wanted to keep this one tight and precise since there was a bit of controversy. Thanks for watching.
If my boss pulled me in and said hey I’m firing you but we’re going to do a video and paste it on our corporate website… I might let him do it then sue the living shit out of him for trying to ruin my life. Then if that didn’t work, I’d find him in the parking lot later. What an absolutely shitty way to treat a person.
Good video.
Should have been a private matter but he runs a business. People need to get a grip.
No. He's been getting cut slack for years. It's over.

The dude is so arrogant and blinded by it that I don't even think he realizes that how everyone sees him.

no slack given for that clown
Thanks for visiting the channel. I know he isn't very popular right now. Looking at the issue from both sides was my intent.
Hey, Yammie, hire this guy.
Then fire him on camera after a bit
I have zero sympathy for Eric, the same way he exhibited zero empathy for Jake in that cringe video. I hope the rise of Spite's Corner continues and wish him more success than Yammy could ever dream of.
I hope the best for Spite also.
Agreed. Thanks for commenting.
I can’t find this video, I can’t even find the j moto spot channel.
I still miss the original aunt viv from fresh prince 😂
No. No matter WHAT the reasons were for letting Spite go was not valid for the guy that raised your subscribers by almost a full million in a bit over two years. The only acceptable reason for Spite leaving was by his own choice.
Yam messed up, honestly.

Maybe not
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I also thought his name was Spike lol
I till have a hard time saying Spite
Spike? Me too
I still have a tough time saying Spite
Very well said. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Thank you. I grew up in the north west, out in Alaska.
someone finally sticking up for yam! lol I fell like you and @postocalypse are the only ones who brought any kind of rationale to this situation. SUBSCRIBED!
Yam is in the wrong here he literally fired spite because spite was doing his job better than him.
Thanks Michael! I appreciate your support.
What's Eric's last name? Wait what's your last name?
Eric Barros. Mine is "Rides" = )
This was nice to see. I've seen a lot of the criticism and felt most was unfair to Yam. On the other hand this might be the best thing to happen to Spite since at this point his own channel has grown so much.
Thanks Tim. I agree.
Bro keep up the good work! I think you can improve your thumbnails and get a lot of views. There are some specifics that can make your channel skyrocket.
Thank you! I'm working on the thumbnails. I definitely see the value in a good credible and catchy thumbnail.
*No*
Why would you fire somebody on camera and then post it for the world to see? That is trash….
Nah klowny noob been a clown for a long time anyway no need to cut this dude some slack that was definitely unprofessional
Definitely was a noob mistake to execute a firing the way he did.
You sound related to him. You his daddy?
Never met the guy.
The wreck with the Porsche was not his first and only wreck. He was full on MaxWrist and has totaled several bike bikes before that incident. Unlike Max though he finally learned his lesson.
Yeah, that was completely irresponsible. Not sure how he survived and I wonder what sort of settlement the Porsche driver got
Spite’s channel exploded because of that awkward exit video. Yammie isn’t a bad guy.
Agreed. I don't believe Yammie is a sociopath. I think he just rushed into this for some reason. But when you're that much in the public's eye, errors are magnified. Success is more to manage than some people understand. We all can't be as chill and cool as Keanu Reeves
they were a good duo but its yams channel he needs to do what feels right for him
no slack
You're in the majority. Shows the depth of how the firing was not a great PR move.
no
