    The puffs are good for emerger patterns, they are worthless as far as floating goes, very little if any oil around them. As far as the bigger feathers, the barbules near the butt float much better than the top portion. I’ve purchased so many different brands of CDC but it seems in the past 8-10 years they don’t float as well as the first generation of CDC in the 90s and early 2000s. Wonder if anyone else notices that? Thanks for touching on this, great videos!!

      PA WOODS N WATER I get mine from wild duck and they are not chemically cleaned or dyed both of which could affect floating as my flys seem to float ok

      I bet they float better, guess I gotta take up waterfowl hunting, well at least one duck, ha!
