This is one of the best shows I've ever seen
Not knowing much about Miep, I have become immensely interested in this series. Most of us know the Anne Frank story but not much about the Saint known a Miep who sacrificed her own life to do whatever it took to protect the family. It is masterpiece of work and an excellent series.
God rest their souls

This reminds me of Dr.Rashid Buttar an immunologist who spoke out against the VACCINE TYRANNY during COVID and was sadly poisoned for it. Heroes are rare indeed!! RIP!!

I’m so glad they made a show about Miep and Jan. There are so many renditions about the Frank family, (as there should be) but I’m glad we can see a POV of these two brave souls. Also, a great show if you want to learn more about the Frank family while they were in hiding, without gore and hard to watch scenes. Great show.
Both sides now revealed in this phenomenal series. Their humility & bravery is astounding. Superb cast, incredible bittersweet watch. 💕

My wife and I enjoyed this series! The acting and portrayals of their counterparts was just incredible! I would encourage anyone to watch this beautiful series. It will make you think about real struggles by real people. Truly amazing!
I found this show on Disney just out of the blue and I'm so glad I did. This is a 10/10 drama in every measurement of what makes a good tv show. Must watch!

As we approach the final two episodes I have my box of tissues at the ready as I know this will be truly emotional and well portrayed. An exceptional series with Miep and Jan being remembered justly for their incredible bravery .❤😢
I really liked this. The story from Miep’s side was really brilliant because we know she risked a lot for the people she and her husband were helping but it’s difficult to imagine the full extent of the risks involved. Miep truly was an incredible person and the actress did a great job. All those times she got frustrated or lost her temper, I like to think that was a side of miep that we don’t often think about because she was as human as the rest
This series is a wonderful tribute to Miep Gies and the others who worked courageously to save the Frank Family and the 4 others in hiding. Miep led by example with dignity, empathy, and decency. A lesson for all and a lesson for today.

This whole show just made me cry my eyes out it’s so hard to have seen what they had to go through just because of there religion and knowing that Meip and Jan did so much to Help them at such a young age is incredibly inspiring and that they put their own lives in danger to help people is really Heart warming This is a very well known story and it will continue to be for many more years to come ❤
I was so taken with this take on the Anne Frank story and as a new week starts my mind is filled with the episodes and the wonderful acting. if we can do just one kind act each day is something I am taking away.Thank you to all involved.

We just watched the whole show. Amazing. It was so interesting and heartbreaking seeing the heroes who tried to help the Jewish during WWII. I'm glad they made this project into reality
One of the best series I've seen in a long time. Even knowing the end result I was still sat watching praying for a happy ending! Plenty of tears shed x
I give a lot of credit to this miniseries. Obviously there's probably some creative licensing involved, but this taught me a lot of Miep that I never knew growing up. And after finishing this series, it made me want to revisit the Diary of Anne Frank so I bought that on Audible, and I just finished watching Freedom Writers movie that has a couple of very emotional scenes about the Holocaust and Miep Gies.
This series is incredible. Prior to watching, I honestly knew nothing about Miep, Jan, and others outside the families that were in hiding. The actors did an incredible job with their roles and being respectful to the legacy of everyone involved.
just finished to watch it today. the hit I got was so strong I think definetly changed me and how I see reality around me. I think everybody should watch it

This was an incredible series. Truly probably one of the most well done series I’ve ever seen. It really impacted me. It was incredibly thought provoking. What these incredible people did needed to be documented in film in a respectful and honorable way and this production did the story justice. Well done by all.
Biside the eccelent actors I want to give a big compliment to the property master and the set dressers.
I'm a historian from the Netherlands and i recognize everything.
Things, they probebly couldn't know is: Jazz music was forbidden by the Germans, radio's where forbidden, so radio's had to be kept hdden and the telephones are not the telephones used in the Netherlands in the 1930's and 40's.
The office and annex are almost perfectly re build. The actual home of Anne was used. Outside at the Merwedeplein in Amsterdam and the rebuild inside.

Probably the best I've ever seen about WW2 in the Netherlands.
The nurses and doctors were also the biggest hero's in the Netherlands of that time. They were the ones who saved countless of children under the eyes of the Nazi's. They deserve their own story.

Loved the whole story. It was so powerful. The strength of an ordinary woman who did something so extraordinary for her friends. Miep risked it all to do the right thing at one if the worst times in human history. The courage she had continues beyond her lifetime. ❤

Absolutely fantastic series. The bravery shown by these "ordinary" people was truly outstanding, they were in fact very extra- ordinary people. Also, and I am not sure my words do this justice, but we have all seen the photo's and films of the people in the camps many looking like walking skeletons and barely recognizable as human. This series showed us those people as normal living, laughing, loving folk before the worst of humanity took hold of them. But this series also showed us the very best of humanity in people risking everything to just try and protect the people they knew and loved. Outstanding cast and very, very well put together.
I recently visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. It was such an emotional, moving experience. When a friend told me about this series I immediately started watching it and was transported back to my visit there. I loved every minute of this series and have told everyone I know to watch it. I loved getting to see the story told through the eyes of Miep and Jan, it’s brilliant! I can’t wait to watch it again!

I am so amazed at the brilliance of this show! A small light kept you on the edge of your seat, even if you know the story of Anne Frank already.
I’ve read many stories about WW2, this one was beautifully told. The actors performances, the directions, and production was amazing! The idea, that even the smallest person can make major difference, Is definitely true. I would give this wonderful production a 10 of 10! ❤
Miep was deeply conscious of what she was doing. She was a party girl in the 30's but also very educated and understood what then was going on in Europe especially Germany. She said "yes" to Otto Frank, knowing what she was doing and risking. it is clear in Miep's autobiography.
but overall I enjoyed the series.
I have always been so interested in learning about all these stories, specially the unknown heroes like Miep and her husband. Anything related to the holocaust is just fascinating and at the same time so traumatizing to learn how evil men can be. I wish some day I have the chance to visit Anna Frank's museum for a taste of hope and a visit to Auswitch for a taste of pure evil.
I loved this brilliantly, written directed and produced.. perfect casting and incredible acting.. I was on the edge of my seat.. had to pause and found myself pacing up and down the house. While breathing deeply trying to release anxiety.. I literally threw the remote in anger and looked forward to each episode.. I found myself thinking constantly I would have done what ever I could for my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would never have forgotten my humanity and christianity. I Would have fort against all odds even if it meant loosing my life .

I watched the series and it was really good. It draws you in with each character. Of course the end is what we all know it to be. Never knew who the people were that helped the Frank family. Love this perspective in this series. I want to watch it again.

Telling Miep's story was brilliant and it is all so moving and gripping. Also, I've never seen Anne portrayed with such life & vitality. You just want her to live so badly. Great acting, writing & directing at telling a story we already know. 20 years later, the arresting Nazi said when he took her the real Anne was much older & prettier than the Anne portrayed at that time and in pix and I think this one would come close.
I found it incredibly inspiring, real life hero, just a normal girl choosing to do the right thing in a world gone mad, mad respect

Some inaccurate storylines, but they portrayed Mies very well. It's was second nature to her to help people. She didn't think twice about.
I read Anne diary in 2007 8th grade. I learned more about miep.

This has been an amazing series
In my personal opinion this is probably Liev Schrieber's best work. He manages to convey pain, gratitude, dignity, hope and desperation by just the look in his eyes.
This series have been written and directed in a way that show normal people becoming extraordinary, while walking the fine line in giving space for lighter moments (as what is normal in dark situations) while still being respectful of the real history behind it.
The directors and producers also managed to go back to a time where they conveyed the horror of the situation not by being explicit, but showing the effect it has on people witnessing it.
I also appreciate the telling of the story of people being involved not because they were the victims, but because they chose to side with the victims.
A bit closer to home (and not nearly at the same level) this reminded me of Beyers Naude (a reverent in the apartheid's years) who from a position of privilege made the choice to stick his neck out for the disadvantaged and the disenfranchised.
The story of Miep and Jan shows how people who could have been 'safe' by just turning away and doing nothing chose to put their own lives in danger, not necessarily because they started off as heroes, but because it was impossible to just let this atrocity happen without trying to do something about it.
Bravo for the producers, actors, writers, directors and crew. This is the type of superhero series the world needs more of
Ive watched this whole show and I must say the actors were amazing and brought the real story alive. Better than any other besides real interviews.

My one gripe with the show was all the Dutch talking with upper class British accents. Other than that I loved it.

Loved the series - not ‘show’. Amazing acting for the most part. Shame about the historical inaccuracy which was unnecessary. Although the actress playing Miep was great, she clearly didn’t watch any of the footage of Miep, who was not a kooky hothead, but a stoic, solid character…

I love 💕 this series and love the Anne Frank story But I wonder what the cast and crew think about what happened on October 7 and the aftermath what it's like now with all the hate and anti-Semitism that's happening, it's unbelievable and so sad, But this story and the truth of this Will always live on Always ❤

I agree that Miep's story should be told, but I won't be watching this particular version because it's inaccurate. This one inplies that Miep'a husband took issue with her helping the Frank family, and he never did that,
Did you watch the episode at all? He doesn’t imply he took issue - in any way - he says he wanted her to let him know before it happened. And he immediately ingratiates himself in both the resistance movement - trusts its fantastic

I think the role of Bep Voskuijl was a bit downplayed in the series. She did also a lot for the families in the annex, like doing the groceries, checking on them everyday, keeping them company etc. She also had a close bond with Anne.
This isn't correct. The series does not make it seem as though Jan took issue with her decision. He's upset with her for not including him.
I have read many books about the Holocaust, and enjoyed this series however...Disney can't help itself. Bringing in the gay stuff did not add anything to this serious and tragic event in history. This is why I will never go back to a Disney Park. Groomers all the time. How did I see this on Disney+? My grown daughter has the app. She loves the story of the Anne Franks Diary, so we watched it on Christmas day thinking about the sad events and the courage and wonderful story of Meip. Try harder Disney!
