Must be a afterthought on the design by Case, the exhaust hits the snowblower on the left side, causing a build up around the chute, mine does the same, but I'm not going to reroute the exhaust for that
Yea they probably didnt think the exhaust would blow carbon that far and they probably took a few years to do so after they were sold. A few other models had different exhaust exits so I bet they didnt know till many years down the road. You could weld a little deflector on the end of the pipe to kick it up and over or out a bit further to the side.

My cub cadet dose the same with the blower on my 1250 or 1000. straight out the front and melts right on top of the blower.
