It has a lot of the homey touches, but it's actually not Ada's old place. The set people may have used some elements from Ada's house set for the McKinnon place since Ada was living at the Cory mansion by this time (and her former home would no longer be seen).
I loved this MJ! But I felt like at this time we were having too many McKinnons. And this felt like the downfall of AW. Seemed to really go downhill once Cecile was gone. I loved 1980-84!!! And I love watching these old episodes!!
The original MJ was a much better actress than MJ #2 who didn't display any of the characteristics of MJ #1, who really behaved like a McKinnon, and could have passed for Kathleen's sister as was believable as cop. MJ #2 would have been better in a different role (like Cass's sister Stacy) or even as a Frame cousin.
This MJ had played the role for at least a couple of years and even dated Jamie for a period of time. I don't know if she left on her own or was re-cast by TPTB to change the direction of the character (which was much weaker and lacked the strength of a McKinnon).
I met new mj and the actor who played chad from another world at a charity event back in 1987. All of the New York based soaps were supposed to be there but only chad and mj came . I dont believe that everyone had to work overtime the event took place in the bronx at Taft highschool . But because it was the bronx in the 80s no one else wanted to come there are alot of people of color who watch daytime you wouldn't even be on the air if it weren't for us. There is no justification for disrespecting any of your fans now all of the New York soaps from the 80s are all gone karma. I have mad respect for both actors richard burgi and sally spencer for attending this charity event. But shame on the cast of. Guiding light all my children one life to live Ryan's hope. Loving and the rest of the cast who were on another world at that time as well as the rest of the New York based soaps at that time. I dont care if a fan event takes place in the most toughest neighborhood in chicago or in Compton the bronx harlem Brownsville in brooklyn or east New York also in brooklyn etc. If I was a daytime soap opera star I would make sure that my ass would make an effort to attend and would treat them like family. I haven't forgotten the utter disrespect even though this was in 87. 34 years ago. Wow time flew but 34 years doesn't seem that long. But it's interesting how daytime actors will show there true racist characters. Now that all of the New York soaps are all gone I truly hope that the cast of the young and the restless. The bold and the beautiful days of our lives or. General hospital all of the 4 remaining soaps left dont ever show that same attitude respect all of your fan base . Other wise if they do then they all need to go and good riddance
Does anyone have the episode featuring Kelsey grammar when he appeared on AW. As dr. Conrad never seen that episode. I was in school most of the time but then again I got out at 2 o clock PM and got home just a few minutes later. Aw good times I remember I would rush home every day just 2 watch my bay city family then from 3 till 4 I would watch my springfeild family on guiding light over at cbs. Then at 5 o clock it was time 2 catch up with my degrassi family over on channel 13. Man o man the eighties. Good times. If I can go back in time then come back 2. 2021 I would. I would even go back to 1986. Until. 1990 so I can change history. A very painful history. In my life. But unfortinitly I cant . I wish my father in heaven would give me that spiritual power. So I can change history. But I know it won't happend. I can only move on and get back into scriptures . And see what happens. Because just like my AW/ bay city family which never. Recovered from there ratings slide I dont no why. I 2 never recovered from my slide from 1990. That year was the nail in my coffin. Not that I will hurt myself the lord would not like it iam strong enough 2 wait on my father's return all I have 2 do is just get back in putting his word 1st. And he will do the rest.
this was a golden ear for another world... it's a shame by the early 1990s the only McKinnon left in Bay City was Jake... and the original M.J. was a far better actress than M.J. #2 that was on the show when Marissa Love/Mary McKinnon returned to Bay City with Reginald Love... it is strange, though, that the writers created the tension between the McKinnons and the Loves 2 years later without acknowledging the relationship Marley and Donna to the McKinnon family prior to Reginald Love's return.
Oh don't like this MJ at all. I loved Sally Spencer in 86-87. She and Adam were my favorite couple and boy the writers really butchered them, ugh. At least they had a happy reunion off screen lol
