Love this song, truly touched so much of my past. I have 13 years sobriety. I still remember what this life can do to so many around us, the struggles are kids our babies, our hearts have to feel and deal with. Thank you for sharing but there is always light at the end its just a hell of a road to get there, the benefits at the end was worth every moment of sickness physical and mental and time away from my family. I feel blessed everyday I wake up with another day sober. I came over from our boy killer videos 7.5😘😘

I'm sure you're a man that appreciates honesty so I gotta tell you that as much as I like this remake (and I honestly do, the overall production values in general are super tight vs the original) I have to tell you that I like the original version much better. This version seems like it's in a rush and has too much going on musically. I my opinion (and I don't know shit about writing or producing music/songs) a song like this that means so much to you and is in essence you baring your soul to your listeners and telling us about your struggles with addiction, the effects it had on your family, especially your son and that you over came huge obstacles to once again be the man that you know you needed to be in order for your son to have a dad he can be proud of. That kind of song (once again, imo) should be done at a nice easy pace like in the original, it gave the listener time to really feel and appreciate what you were going through. The pace that the original went at and the way you told the story with your lyrics would allow someone listening to the song without the benefit of seeing the video a chance to paint a picture in their own mind of what you were going through as the song prigresses, I don't believe I can the same for the remake. Well, I hope you appreciate my honest synopsis of this song and wish you and Walt continued success and all the best in the future.
