I always said my daughter was my favorite daughter or little girl in the world and told my son he was my favorite son or little boy in the world. Lol one day when they were tweens, they were having an argument and each said they were mom's favorite...oh. They finally realized that mom and dad loved them both. I would only use those lines when they asked which was my favorite.

My husband's family is Amish/Mennonite and they make the best whoopie pies in the world! I've had chocolate with all kinds of filling, Peanut butter and jelly, coffee, vanilla with chocolate filling and so many more, but I've never had red velvet, so I've got to try these!

This Cousin Johnnie's Red Velvet Whoopie Pies recipe looks so yummy Paula and Bobby.
Over 50 yrs ago I had the privilege of seeing the “ original “ red velvet cake recipe
The red food colouring was 2 1oz bottles - not ever 1 2oz bottle
The one bottle makes a light to medium colour red crumb whereas the 2 bottles gives you a deep deep rich red colour
And btw the original frosting on the cake was not made w cream cheese
Ree Drummond much to my surprise and sheer joy makes it using the original recipe

We would love to make these and Christmas cookies for Christmas this year but sadly my Viking oven broke on Thanksgiving of this year and just had the Viking approved repair man come by yesterday to diagnose the problem. It’ll take 2 weeks to get the parts and it’s still not guaranteed to fix the problem 🥲 🥲 so we will be making Chex mix on the grill this year. Love to all and Merry Christmas. Poor Vermont. That insane governor there just destroyed their season ski season with ANOTHER unconstitutional lockdown over a virus with a 99% recovery rate. That state depends on the ski season as much as beach towns do in the summer to sustain them through the off season.
