I stayed here in 2008, enjoyed dinner in the dining room and thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the lodge the next morning. Interesting to learn about the ways employees connect to explore the area on their days off.
Hello, it is great to hear from you! I have been on tours of the Inn, but did not have time this visit. They are definitely interesting. Hope you are well!
Fam vaca in 1966, we stayed here for a week. Fell in love with everything about Yellowstone. Rode the horse trails every day. Even got dad on a horse for the trail ride. Beautiful place all around.
Hope you can make it back soon! I forget if I mentioned this but they do give tours of the Inn (at least under normal circumstances). Thanks for watching!
Great video! I worked there in 1998 at the fast-food shop in the lobby (it was called the Pony Express back then). I remember serving hamburgers and huckleberry ice cream to loads of bus tourists. I haven't been back since but I have fond memories. I really enjoyed your tour =)
The year was 1999. It was the last day that the lower loop roads were open for general vehicle traffic. My husband & I spent most of the day in the Lake area. Leaving the park, we stopped at the OF area. Walked around, we had our own private showing of the geyser. The very BEST part was walking up to the OFI and finding the doors were not locked. The Inn was having some renovations done. We were the ONLY ones in there. Hearing the floors creak under our feet and walking some of the hallways, both PRICELESS and AWESOME!!!
I did something similar…but i was 12-14 and me and my friend would go around the rich neighborhoods where they were building huge mansions and they were all (at this time) ready to move in. No furniture and no locks but everything else was there. We would just walk around in them. We never damaged anything…it was just curiosity of what these massive homes looked like.
About the old house rooms when you said only some rooms do not have a private bath, you meant to say that most rooms do not have a private bath, because only 12 old house rooms have their own bathroom.
i went there to see old faithfull iwas tired and did not went inside the lodge . im so stupid . but i went to other sites there .and waited 2hrs to see oldfaithfull come out and see it . i spend the nite in yellowstone mn from SOAZ . quite a road trip .
I don't know about that, may be difficult/risky to keep heated up. If I didn't mention, there is a nearby Snow Lodge. Additionally, Yellowstone capacity is extremely limited during winter months! Thanks for watching!
Too much snow to make that work. Plus the summer workers they depend on that come to live from all over the world are college students. They're at school during the school year and they really wouldn't have the staff needed to run this thing.
I went to Yellowstone for a trip back in 2017 with my trailer I had great memories and I had moose tracks ice cream from a shop that was up a hill or mountain a bit an md I think that what that person from that 2 year old comment might be talking about where he worked
Yes, the Wilderness Lodge's exterior and interior is most inspired by the Old Faithful Inn! I just visited Wilderness Lodge for the first time a few weeks ago and was really impressed with how similar it is to Old Faithful. Thanks for watching!

Without doubt, one of my favourite places to visit in the US. I miss Yellowstone Park.
Mine too!

Thanks for this. We were on a time crunch when there earlier this week. Will not miss it next time!

I was a bartender at the Bear Pit for two seasons. I think it was also 1998

At 7:03 there was a twig in the video for comparison jkn 😆
Have you ever thought of them making Old Faithful Inn a full year around lodge?

This Lodge is really cool looking inside and out.
It would make an awesome place to make a horror movie.
Agreed!
How much were the rooms and what time of year did you go?

Cool, it truly is a spectacular place!
Looks like the Lodge at Disneyworld.

If you have time catch one of the other predictable geyser's, longer waits and better eruptions.
Favorite?
I live to load up gift shops ❤
Bacon and pancakes, nice! 🤤
I'm a clock fanatic
Be there soon snow on Fri Yellowstone in 🍂 🥮 🎑 🍁 🍂 🥮 🎑 🍁 🍂 🥮 🎑 🍁 🍂 colour yehah
Totally not seeing this from hearing HZD.
Restaurant is charming as is the lobby. The rooms are pretty awful.
