Hi the actual recommended tracking force for the e4 is 1.75g however i find 1.8g works best on my tonearm.

If you can't find the stylus guard for the cartridge you're taking off the arm I find it's less stressful if you remove the stylus from the cartridge body first, provided of course that you have a cartridge with a removable stylus.
