A small hexagonal box
6 gray equilateral triangles with a black line on 2 sides
2 red equilateral triangles with a black line on 1 side
3 green equilateral triangles: 2 with a black line on one side and 1 with a black line on two sides
A rug or a large table

Presentation:
Invite a child
Introduce the activity
Have the child set up the floor mat
Have the child carry the box to the floor mat and sit-down
Open the box
Take all the triangles and place them around the box
Close the box and place it on the right corner
Isolate one red triangle, tell the child you are going to look for the matching one
Take another red triangle and join them together on the black lines
Place it on the top left corner. Say : look what we have here, do you remember what shape is this?
Do the same one with green one to make trapezoid and place it next to the red one
Do the same with the grey one to make hexagon and place it in front of the child
Pause
Use two hands, separate the grey hexagon to three trapezoids
Compare the green trapezoid to grey trapezoids and put the green ones on top go the grey
Place the green back
Separate the hexagon to three rhombus
Compare the red rhombus with one go the grey rhombus and put it on top of the grey ones
Put the red ones back
Put all the shapes back into their positions
Mix the triangle
Invite the child
When the child done, show how to put away
Mix the triangle
Open the box
First the grey ones, the green ones and the red ones
Close the box
Place it back to the shelf
