Thank you so much for making this video. I have searched so many videos on how to grow these and no one explained it at all like you did. This is the best video I have found. No one even said to soak them and I’ve been trying to figure out what was wrong. You just gained a new subscriber with all notifications turned on. You are the absolute best! Thank you so much.
Thank you for showing us. I’ve been wanting to make my own peanut butter, and it’s tough finding a healthy organic one that my son will eat. Now I can grow my own peanuts ❤️
I can use these peanuts to feed birds & squirrels, I found raw peanuts in the bulk section of Winco. I understand growing peanuts is good for the soil.
Oh, are they nitrogen fixers? I never knew that! Thanks! I should think they also help keep the soil loose and keep it from compacting, with the roots.
Thanks so much for this very informative video. If you get a chance, can you please show when the plants are ready to be harvested and how to harvest them? Mine have yellow flowers on them now. 😁
What was the material you used on the bottom of the basket, under the cardboard sides? How often do you water in hot weather? Do you let the soil dry, completely?
• Yes, Peanuts are simple to grow in UK and like to be planted in full sun. They prefer a light, sandy soil and can be planted in a large pot (from 5L) or a garden bed.
Jeez, the comments 😬 He's just trying to help out. I came because I found a foreign to me post growing in my pots. I investigated & seen that one of my kids tossed a couple of whole peanut shells in my lettuce pot 😅 hey it worked, they grew. Thanks for the tips.
Hello, Thanks for sharing this detailed process of Peanut planting. I would like to know if the paper you placed in the basket is baking sheet and the cardboard are regular hard card boards ?
@@GardeningSecrets I purchased some seeds that said raw and I did exactly what you did but these seeds are only showing a nasty look white film did I receive raw seeds that can't produce?
You grow raw peanuts, when they are grown, shell them and put on baking (cookie) sheet, spread honey on peanuts with pastry brush and then roast in oven.
My plant has given its 1st flower. Am trying to find out how much water to give at this stage - None? Lots? Just enough to wet top soil? Also, the soil isn't sandy. In fact, a bit sticky. Should I loosen top soil?

Great video and amazing to watch. The only problem is when it's in full screen I cannot see the added tips 'text' you have added at the very bottom. Maybe it's because I'm using a smartphone.
Where you keep that jar ? In dark place or under sun ? I failed many times .. I put peanuts on tissue and seal it in plastic bag almost for 1 week .. nothing happened
(For the people who lost hope after the 2 day mark) Apparently they can take 5-8 days to germinate depending on the type you get. Mine certainly didn’t take 2 days
Heard that happens when the peanuts are roasted and not "raw", pay attention to where you get them from! Planting is trial and error, hope this helped. ~
