Psychology can explain it:
As a child you can't even think about that your mother is bad, because you are highly dependent of her. If you find yourself on the street, you are basically a dead child, and your forming brain knows this well. So your body notices that you are in a wrong situation, but it can't tell you by using words, it tells you by generating anxiety and gradually increasing mental/physical pain. If you don't act, the negative motivators will raise and you will act. Nessa acted at age 17. Some people never act, they just get used to the pain or outsource it to people they 'love'. Freedom of will comes from the inside, it can't be taken as granted from the outside.

Not trying to be nosy but does anyone know which pediatric psych ward she went to? I know shes from jersey and i was in this juevenile place in 2013 in somerset county and i swear she was in there with me. Didnt talk to her much because i was a few years older but i remember her voice and her face so distinctly
