What a bloke. Thank you for you’re service Nick. I know this is a true crime podcast and I understand that. But these combat stories and stories involving the tours he was on are incredible stories. Would love to see more combat vets from all types of wars and battles. Some brilliant stories out there to be told by these types of individuals. It’ll also be helping them as a person speaking to someone and having people get back to that individual about their experiences they’ve had on these tours and just in the military as a whole. Peace and blessings to all. Nothing but love💎💙

Nick seems like a genuine down to earth guy. As ex forces myself I take my hat off to any serving or ex para. The training is extremely demanding not just physically but mentally. I thought my training in the Mercian Regiment was hard but the Para boys are another level, they are special forces in their own right.

Yeh you can tell he’s the real deal. As someone who served in the army I can confidently say his time in the parachute regiment is 100% on point. Our training in the Mercian Regiment was hard enough but in the Paras it’s sadistically hard course to complete. It’s takes a special type of individual to be a paratrooper.

Real men slap the suicidal. In this case it worked , the man lived through his ordeal. If you make the children strong then you don’t need to fix broken adults. This is a healthy attitude .

I almost got put in jail over nothing in Greece in 95 over a misunderstanding. It was terrifying to be in a foreign country, not able to speak the language and at the mercy of the state. The police interrogated me via a translator who sucked. The cop went to hit me with a phone book a few times . I was bricking it

The odd slap is common practice amongst our cops, especially if its a drunk English tourists!
(Not insinuating you were drunk or anything!)
If you got a shit translator its because they purposely chose a shit one?
Did they ask for money by any chance?
Always ask for the volunteer tourist police if there is any! They're usually British expats!
If not them your holiday Rep if you've got one, if not ring your hotel as they may help and possibly pay a fine, providing you pay them back before you leave and relinquish your passport!

@@carefreemc1445 haha. I’m Irish and. I I wasn’t drunk. They just got the closest translator which was the travel agent lady next door. My Greek boss, at santorini camping, knew it was all BS and got my passport back. As soon as I did I got out of there. Not a day goes by though without me thinking of my head in greece. They didn’t ask for money.

@@TheNoSuchThingPodcast irish or English its all the same to them! The majority of Island cops are lazy, racist, Golden Dawn supporting, power mad bums who just sit chain-smoking in café's all day! Only moving to kick a poor street dog! One hit my brother tooth out, trying to act tough until my YiaYia (Granny) turned up with a stick!

@@carefreemc1445 Kalimera! Been all over the paradise that is Ellandha since a boy, BUT ended up working as a musician in Kavos for a year where the cops shook me down for drugs and my work papers every evening. It was weird to see them act differently there - but then, the locals had literally fenced Kavos off in those days (2016), think it's changed now, cuz it was Babylon with balloons! Eleftheria mou fou! 🤓 🇬🇧🇬🇷

Great podcast as usual shaun. Only one thing, could we keep the shiuting and screeching down? There is nothing worse when you are chilling listening to a story and then ban a big loud laugh or screeching.
    Thanks
