I can't help but be astounded by the whole band every time I see a clip on here, it's incredibly heartwarming to know that they all seem to have an innate sense of timbre, timing and structure. There's a lot going on, but it's never too much, and everyone leaves plenty of space, so nobody's stepping on anyone else's toes, it's just wonderful! More REAL musicians like these please :)
I agree! In a lot of the jams I participate in, everyone involved is always trying to do their thing and be heard above everyone else. We all just need to take a step back and listen to the musician playing lead.
This is really a terrific piece, coming through especially well at the higher quality with the studio settings, where you can begin to hear the dynamics and phrasing of the original recording being played. It's really nice to hear the beauty in intricacy of Clay's playing.especially; and the surges and drones from each which interleave so well with the measured staircases Sierra is building.
While, certainly one of the very, very good, Guy, pay attention to the history of this genre; there are lots of musicians and bands who have come before who demonstate this virtuosity and excellence. LOTS!! Thanks for the video; wonderful
I mean that's a very tough thing to say about anyone.. lest we forget the great master Tony Rice who basically pioneered "jazz grass" which is what you're hearing here. David Grisman, Sam Bush, Bella Fleck, Jeff Austin, the list goes on. You can't really day those people aren't this good.. they paved the road they're traveling

I've always loved Blue grass, and this Instrumental was totally Epic! So Long live Sierra Hull!!! :)
THIS IS SOOO FRIGGIN GOOD!
Ya gotta luv her...and her band
WAMU is the best radio station in the world. That is, if you like bluegrass music in all it's forms.
In my opinion WAMU's Bluegrass/Country is the best bluegrass radio station in the U.S...by far!
Thank you for being SO damn good

These people are all so good at their craft it's scary. Nobody plays bluegrass instrumentals as well as Sierra & her band.
Better check out Chris Thile before too long; sierra's unreal but Chris is on another planet.
I have - seen Punch Bros and Nickel Creek in concert. Thile is the only mando player superior to S Hull.
Yes I agree, I've seen Courtney in concert as well. She's an excellent picker and singer.
