Kevin McGeehan | Can We Limit These Please? | Moth StorySlam WINNER

In 2006, Kevin's uncle (Andy) made a promise to his sister right before she died that he would look after Kevin when she was gone. Fifteen years later, something happened where Kevin desperately needed his help. This is the story of how Andy upheld that promise.

The Moth is a non-profit group based in New York City dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. Founded in 1997, the organization presents a wide range of theme-based storytelling events across the United States and abroad, often featuring prominent literary and cultural personalities. The Moth offers a weekly podcast and in 2009 launched a national public radio show, The Moth Radio Hour, which won a 2010 Peabody Award. I love this so much. I know exactly what you mean. I give incredible birthday cards. They’re not only funny (I seek them out that way) but I always write something very heartfelt in them. When I watch the recipient’s eyes well up with tears, it fills me with glee. Not because I want to hold it over them or anything. It’s simply because I enjoy being moved. So when I can write something that can do that, I feel like I accomplished something-even on a small scale like that. I brought some light into their life and into the world. It’s a great feeling.
