I adore this song. Whenever I lay down, I start quietly ¨Cosette, it´s turned so cold¨ and then sing the whole thing plus the Confrontation (in which I sing Valjean and wave a hairbrush like a weapon). Aaand these people did an AMAZING JOB . Fantine - I wanna cry. This girl blew me away! Also so many Jeantine feels! Idk if it's a good ship, but this performance almost convinced me. And the Confrontation - totally great. Both JVJ and Javert are perf, they are totally representing the characters' personalities.
Wow, you’re Fantine literally made me sob. So…good job! Edit: so here I am, a month later, once again brought to tears by this brilliant actress. And I thought I would elaborate on why I think she’s wonderful. In many productions of Les Miserables, even professional and Broadway/tour versions, the Fantine’s usually have elaborate blocking during the “Cosette, it’s turned so cold…[etc]” section and use it to illustrate that Fantine is close to death and seeing things. But she accomplished the same thing to an acuter degree-to me-without it. I also feel that she focuses on the pure emotion that the words and their meaning convey rather than flaunting her vocal skills (which are commendable, by the way).
2:51. I first saw this show on Broadway in New York City and I really liked how when someone good died, they had a super-bright, white light directly over them. I've never seen that done in any version I've seen since, and it's always disappointing.
@@kinggeorgeiii7229 Pretty sure that the agents and talent scouts et al of Browadway are watching and taking notes; or at least I hope they do when the performers are of this caliber!
@@DoliSkipper there is no shortage of talent. Nobody needs to scout for Broadway talent. These people are not good enough. Valjean and Javert are especially weak. Their voices could never be developed to compete with the best of the best.
Nate is so talented--does he sing professionally? And although Chase is much younger, he holds his own in this amazing duet. Is Chase studying music performance now?
Well done! Was in Les Misérables my freshman year of high school, if I recall correctly our version didn't have the back and forth counterpoint bit that Confrontation usually has. I think we used the School Edition, were you guys using the full version?
#Bravo! We all do things especially as YOUth that are not wise, but how much longer that we make those who were just dumb YOUth pay for the mistakes of their & other's pasts...we must come to an agreement & atonement. Whether it takes 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 years or maybe even 33 years or more. We must come to agreement that for some they are & never were dumb or stupid like their peers led them to believe. They just needed a different way of learning & teaching so that they could read & achieve anything they want.... ps all the youth surrounding me at the time, really were & still are wicked smart especially of whom across the street from me for whom I was tutoring is another youth from the past that is way smarter than you guys might believe.
This young lady did a great job as Fantine… I did not expect to tear up at all.
4:35 best part...amazing singing by the actor who plays Valjean
when people ask how Fantine should be portrayed I'll show them this. This is how you grab an audience by the heartstrings and tug.
This show is literally broadway quality
I'm pretty sure Les Mis is on Broadway
4:42 i loved how javert sings this
Jean Valjean was going to try to keep his promise to Fantine even if Javert would still chase him, that is the most noblest that he had ever done.

I actually cried. Wow I thought it would be cheesy but boyyy was I wrong
who ever plays Fantine knows how to sing and act with feelings
She should be in the actual show like the broadway one

This was excellently done!! Like wow, the Confrontation is a really hard piece but it was perfect!
Fantine’s death is the saddest death in the whole musical.
I just... I love this cast.

2:48 At this angle, Valjean looks just like actual cannibal Shia Labeouf
well done

What does she die from? Is it ever explained what the people die from?
When they took her teeth, it gave her a terrible infection
I'm late but in the book Fantine died of tuberculosis and shock
I always thought she got an STD
Who sings when they're ill like that? Bedridden? 🤔
It's a musical!.
This is sad
