    Damn dude. Went from hoping it was a valve spring or rocker arm to complete rebuild. Sure would be cool to see S&S hook you up with a 131 crank cylinders, pistons, cam chest kit,, and all the goodies to work your heads. Can’t wait to see your next steps and follow along on the rebuild!

      If it was a 107 from start, you can only go to 124.

    AWESOME that you got that kind of life out of it!! Granted it sucks that it gave up the ghost, but dude, 30-50k on it and its not like it was highway miles... :D I wouldn't be upset in the least. If anything its a testament that its been so good!!

    I really appreciate that you were honest about the way that you rode the bike and your expectations of the motors longevity. Does ease my mind about how long my M8 might last as it's not near the hi output setup you're running and it's ridden a bit less aggressively. Good luck with your new build!

    My oil pump went out on my twin cam that stop or severely restricted the oil movement through the motor so Harley tolerances on the main shaft coming off the flywheel is .004 out of round mine was .068 out lmao. Luckily I was still under warranty so it cost me $50.00 total for a brand new engine that I did the stage II big bore on now has 80k abusive miles on and still runs like a scalded dog lol. Good luck on your rebuild brother remember this is a great time to put bigger and better parts in now because the labor is the same as building stock lmao.

    Dude, 70k of hard ripping, you got your money’s worth. Still sucks, but that was a lot of hard riding and shouldn’t surprise you. Rev Perf has fair prices on crank rebuilds if no one will sponsor you. Then do a timken upgrade and rip it another 70k.😉👍🏻

  • @solidjohn6856

    I think it did well for they kind of miles you’ve put on the bike
    I’d be happy with it You ride aggressively I’ve lost bottomed
    With 3000 miles. And my old drag sportster 1/4 mile

  • @trekbsg
    @trekbsg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You know what they say, "you can pay a little now or you can pay a lot later", I would've recommended a forged crank/flywheels and rods vs just welding the crankpin on a stock cast crank in addition to the timken lefty bearing conversion to the case(if that wasn't already done) especially for an engine that's going to be run hard.

    Seems like the bigger the build the less reliable they are. Seen many instances where 124 and 128 kits grenade the motor or clutch. I would imagine the 131 will have some issues down the road. Think I will stay with a 114 maybe do a cam.
