Parmesan is a hard, salty, nutty flavored cheese from Italy. "It is named after the producing areas, the provinces of Reggio Emilia, Parma, the part of Bologna west of the Reno, and Modena; and the part of Mantua on the right/south bank of the Po." This dish originates in the Italian culture. It's one of my favorites, and I'm pleased you all enjoyed it so much.
