Imagine removing Jack Sparrow in all the Pirates of the Carribeans movies. It becomes a dull serious movie. He brought so much color, variety, and comedy to that series. Disney needs to fire the execs that removed him and pay damages to Depp if they ever want him back to play a role. But I think Depp himself does not want to work with them again.

Technically speaking that entire scene was improvised where he was showing off the jar of dirt. He wasn't actually supposed to fall down the stairs but he accidentally did but played it off. Then he started singing I got a jar of dirt I got a jar of dirt, that wasn't in the script either but the entire scene was just so funny and iconic that they kept it in.

1:16 many people know this was a creation of Johnny Depp but what's even more impressive is that the role of Jack Sparrow was supposed to be serious but he was sooooo good that they let him change the character.
Not the first time Disney did that, either. In the Disney rendition of Hercules, Hades was supposed to be a somber villain, but the voice actor delivered his lines like a sleazy used car salesman, and the character was rewritten and became (in my opinion) the best villain Disney ever had.
