Tartaglia is both a bossfight and a unit that you can get in Genshin Impact. The boss itself is very simple, and doesn't really pose much of a threat when you know how to beat him. The general strat of the entire fight is to just walk in a circle around him, and he won't be able to do much against you. I highly recommend that you bring a ranged unit because his first 2 phases have extra moves tied to being able to block and counterattack melee attacks.

Ranged is my recommended method of beating Tartaglia because of how many mechanics you bypass.
Amber (F2P + Cheap to Gear)
Fischl (Medium RNG + Passive DPS from Oz)
Diona (Medium RNG + Defensive Option)
Tartaglia (LIMITED Unit + Top Tier DPS + Expensive to Gear)
Venti (LIMITED Unit + Evasive)
RECOMMENDED MELEE UNITS:
I don't really recommend fighting Tartaglia with melee if you just want to beat him because he has counterattacks, but it's VERY FUN to do so.
Geo Traveler (F2P + Top Tier DPS + Geo Construct + Defensive)
Kaeya (F2P + Cryo for Melt + Cheap to Gear)
Xiangling (F2P + Passive DPS + Pyro for Overload/Melt)
XingQiu (Medium RNG + Defensive)
XinYan (Medium RNG + Top Tier DPS + Cheap to Gear)
Bennett (Medium RNG + Top Tier Support + Extremely Cheap to Gear)

If you're having trouble reaching the amount of damage in this video, it's because I'm pureposefully building my Amber in this video for Physical damage.
You can build your Amber like mine very easily. I'm using Slingshot in this video, which is a fairly common drop when pulling on any Gacha banner. This gives us at R5 a 60% damage bonus just for landing damage quickly. Then, you can scale your physical damage. I'm using a Physical Damage% Cup alongside a 2 piece Bloodstained Chivarly set for a 83% physical damage boost. Then, I ate a Cold Cut Platter food item for an additional 40% physical damage. The damage boost runs out over the course of the video.
Keep in mind that this build is ONLY for the purposes of showing you how easy it is to dodge Tartaglia's attacks, and that you can beat him using an underleveled Amber's normal attacks. If I were to build my Amber properly, this fight would have taken much less time, but I cannot afford to build her properly because I need her as bad as possible for filming purposes.
If you're curious how to build your Amber properly, you should get a 4 piece Wanderer's Troupe set on her, with a Pyro% Cup, Crit Damage% Crown, ATK% Timepiece, and as much CritRate% and CritDamage% as possible for substats, and ATK% to spare. For her weapon, a F2P option would be to use Sharpshooter's Oath, which gives a massive damage bonus for landing weakspot hits. With a build like that, you can easily clear Tartaglia in a shorter amount of time than I took in this video, using almost nothing but fully charged Aimed Shots and the occasional Ulti.

What a good strategy, unlike me fighting him like a brain dead person just using brute force, over leveling and tank it all the way with Noelle...
Just put Kaeya or any other character that can constantly apply Cryo in your team. Cryo will destroy his shields and he'll be dead quickly.
@@drogadepc Yep, have been using Kaeya since I've crowned his phys attack and give him prototype rancour and ram it up with bloodstained + pale flame artifact featuring crit damage + phys bonus main stats and switch noelle with old man Zhong Li for better protection and this Childe boss feels like normal enemies.

@@janeru-san8970 if you dash to the edge as soon as you see him dart summoning the whale, you shouldn’t have a problem. My least favorite part about the fight is Childe.

I know it's a joke, but like for real, player Childe is actually much, much stronger than boss Childe if you build him properly and know how to play him

@@wei.zhu. Got him the BP bow it works very well with him, also helps to OS grouped enemies like hilichurls in a heartbeat and gives crit rate so I can use a crit damage artifact on him

@@wei.zhu. Yeah F2P bows are great for other characters but for Childe they're kind of bad, the battle pass bow and the 5 stars however are insane on him, bp bow is great in the overworld and the others make his damage go stupidly high with the right support and vaporize damage

The difference between us is my amber does 100 damage and yours does 900
I tried beating Childe, blindly, because I had no idea what the difficulty level was- My whole party was levelled up to 40, so three levels above Childe. I had previously just completed an ascension rank quest, so I was out of food, and basically beat him him through the first phase, easily, and then died halfway through the second phase LOL
I opened a chest right before his fight which bumped me to wl3 LOL all my units were chilling at lv 40 so I got destroyed real quick
@@user-jw1bc3ty2h i got to ar30 on xingqiu's story quest, at least all of my units are ascended to ascension lvl2 (40-50) but their all on lvl 40 so im about to get clapped instead of clapping those snezhnyan cheeks
I came to the 3rd phase but I was too scared so I left 😂
I came to the 3rd phase without ranged attacks but then had to quit cause my hands got too sweaty and it affect the performance of my phone 😐
I recently unlocked the golden house... and i could only pass till 2nd part XD seeing this i’ll give this a try again, but i dont feel very confident to go w/o healer bcoz i tend to get hit
If you're having trouble without a healer, I recommend that you remember to do your weekly Bounties in mondstadt (3 hunts per week, 3 quests per week) so you can get access to the Mondstadt NRE gadget. It'll let you eat food in the middle of fighting a lot easier than going into the menu

How does your Tartaglia doesn't shoot the whale or marking you with the ring? My Tartaglia always does it to me
Big agree on the second-stage-“hardest,” his dash moves really do a number on you when you don’t time a dash right. I tried fighting a Level 80 one of him with my at-the-time Level 70 Amber and it was not fun. I didn’t know of the trick of transferring the Electro-Mark onto the wall though, that’ll come in handy when I need to beat him in a hurry before the week ends

When Childe activates his Delusion (Phase 2), use Starfell Sword to block him and have the high ground! If you are marked by his "lightning jump", reach the barrier surrounding the arena to remove the mark before he attacks, or you will instantly die.
Fighting this guy with melee is actually super annoying because he essentially always blinks away from you, and by the time you dash up to him to follow up with your attack, he is already prepping his next move. I know it sucks for us Melee users, but just take the L and use a bow character for this fight. It will honestly save you a ton of time.
I kinda killed Childe with 4 catalysts. It was weirdly challenging to dodge but elemental reaction is amazingly effective. Especially with Overload
Also WHY IS HE NOT THEOWING WHALES AT YOU LIKE MY FIGHT!?!? CHILDE FREAKING THREW LIKE 12 WHALES AT ME
He only attacks with the whale, the rain torrents, and the electro-ring of death when you are marked with the sigil that you get from being hit from a normal attack. An underrated tip that really helped me was that you can clear that sigil at the wall as soon as you get it. So the best way to avoid his ultimate attacks is clearing the sigil before he casts them.
Not to mention that from a nubs perspective, Tartag is slightly vulnerable when releasing the whale so you can sneak at least 2-3 hits in with anything

When I first defeated Childe ( I was Ar28 then ) I used noelle, Keqing, Bennett and Chongyun. Bennett and Chongyun dealt most with the damage while Keqing did the supporting damage ( where she helps with elemental reaction ) and Noelle as Shield. Defeated childe in a snap

Tartaglia (Childe) made easy: simply bring in a character that can constantly apply Cryo. Boom! His HP will be gone in the blink of an eye.
It doesn't have to be a strong Cryo character, you just need to apply Cryo constantly.
So what I’m hearing Diona is op against him😁 she’s long range, provides shield and health, and constant cryo damage

the thing is childe looks freaking scary in phase 2 and 3 which makes me nervous. I'm scared to face him and avoiding this quest for so long and now since I'm ar 35 I'm forced to do this cz I wanna finish him before I do the ascension quest😭 I'm so scared and nervous

I beat him first try it took me 4 minutes to beat first form with only using diona and qiqi 20 seconds to beat 2nd form with xiangling and Bennett diona and qiqi tbh I only beat 2 form fast cuz I just used all their elemental burst all their elemental skills and charge attack and light then the elemental skills again I beat last from 5 minutes only cuz I wasn’t really used to his attacks and I didn’t know you just need to watch his arms for him attacks but one reason I won was probably because I felt all his last and 2nd form ability’s were extremely easy to dodge
I'm going to try again but i'll add Amber this time, but the thing is my Amber is lvl 36 and i havent gave her any artifacts. My first time fighting Childes, I use Chongyun, Xingqiu, traveler(geo), and Xiangling. the first stage I got him but the second stage I got scared and didn't know his moves. I get it now after watching this video, but I cant believe you beat him with just Amber... im shocketh

Is it just me or phase 3 Childe are able to be frozen? I remember my friend who already playing genshin before me said that I need to be careful because Childe is hard especially at phase 3, but at phase 3 I able to freeze him completely (Chongyun+Barbara goes brrr)
I've never tried freezing him before, but that could be the case.

I have a question, did you farm 5 star artifacts before you started farming the bosses(wolf,oceanid, geo and etc.)? My characters are between 40/50, some weapons are 40/50 also but my mastery rank is 33...a lot of videos have Childe, Qiqi, Jean and klee which I have none of those..what Geo would you replace Linley with out of MC Geo traveler or Albedo? Plus the artifacts I have 4 of is berserker, instructor, martial and exile.
My first 5 star artifact was the one you get from getting all of the Geoculi and finishing that quest. I beat Andrius, Oceanid, and all other bosses well before I got my first 5 star artifact. I didn't beat Tartaglia before I got 5 star artifacts because he came out later.
As for which Geo unit I think is better, I think Geo Traveler is stronger than Albedo as a mainstay unit. However, if you have Albedo you might as well use him because it would be a waste not to. He might help you in this fight as well because you can just place his flower down and swap to a ranged unit and deal some extra damage every 2 seconds.
I fought him and I used yanfei the whole time and it worked really well

That's me. The camera doesn't focus the opponent on its own I'm just looking at it and moving my mouse with my hand to look at it manually.
