HR Wallingford wavemaker’s demonstrating our active absorption system

Here’s an interesting video demonstrating our wavemaker’s active absorption system at work. Absorption is vital for recreating real-world sea conditions for physical modelling. The video on the left has the absorption system turned off and, as the video progresses, you can see the huge difference in the two scenarios.

In a nutshell:
Left is how wave interact on normal walls.
Right are the same waves, but with a technology showing "wave absorbtion on", showing that it far less wild.
