This song is biblical af. I love it. The story of the wh**e of babel. The ancient city of Babylon. This is what made me first fall in love with A7X. The songs were always so intricate and intelligent
Yes and nope. Babylon the great is not the old Babel, it's all the false religions together, also called The Harlot. The beast is where she sits on and it represents the political global organizations. According to Revelations in the Bible, The Harlot (Babylon the great, The religions) will come mounted on The Beast (The Politics), The Beast suddenly would attack her and eat her, meaning that the politic governments around the world will sooner or later attack the "false" religions around the world destroying them forever.
@@devilmaycries idk what youtube were you watching , cuz their official mv was uploaded on youtube in 2009. maybe some guy uploaded his dvd to youtube back in 2007 ? you can look up the upload date yourself
@@Cravenian07 well the uploader wasn't from a7x back because they don't have it..i remember this clearly because few months after they came to my country in 2007 and 2nd tour in 2008
This brings me back to being 13-14 again. So freaking nostalgic when I listen to A7X, BFMV, Three Days Grace, Seether. Brings back so many other memories too of how simple life was back then for me. Nostalgia can suck sometimes lol
i really hope you get to review "i wont see you tonight" parts 1 and 2, full of soo much emoion, such a story behind it, theres highs and lows, its the biggest roller coaster of a song ever
@@mtrz023the book is known by a few names. The most well know is “The Book of Revelation”. It’s also known as “The Revelation of St. John”, “Revelations” (which is erroneous), and “The Apocalypse of St. John”.
There's a lot of Christian and Hebrew apocalyptic iconography in A7X songs. The main woman in the video is a personification for Babylon the Great, which is referenced in the earlier chorus. Shes also referred to as the Whore of Babylon and the Mother of Harlots and Abominations, hence being called the Harlot and the abominations she turns people into, which also informs the dwelling place for demons line. The Beast being referenced is actually three beings; one is the beast with 7 heads and 10 horns that Babylon sat upon in Revelation as she seduced the Kings of Man, called the Beast of the Sea, which in Revelation is the Anti-Christ. The second Beast being referenced is Beast of the Land, represented by the one band member as he directs the Harlot to corrupting certain individuals, while the lead singer is the Dragon, the one empowering them to corrupt those decided. Another interesting thing to notice is the sins associated with the people turned in the video: the first girl is the only one who looks happy about the contract, most likely because it means money, alluding to the deadly sin of Greed, the man in the bar is behaving erratically and violently, meaning Wrath, the young boy is more on the nose as lust, the dancer near the end is most likely pride due to how confidently she shows her body. Missing a few of the 7 Deadly Sins, but just sometbing i thought of years ago
Like many others have said, you should check out the live version at LBC, this video cuts out the intro/outro and the final chorus, which in my opinion is the best part of the song
Next has to be Bat Country. It's their signature song. Hail to the King, The Stage and MIA are great too. They are not emo but got labled as such due to this video and get a lot of hatred. Vampires and emo are different things. I think this album has themes relating to the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
It's just biblical imagery made metal, nothing crazy. Even their name, Avenged Sevenfold is from Genesis regarding Cain killing Abel and God saying something to the effect of "Abel will have vengeance sevenfold." (Their song Chapter 4 from Waking The Fallen is exactly about Cain killing Abel and his journey for penance from God for his sin of murder).Their debut album name, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, is a reference to Exodus and the End Times where trumpets will sound from the heavens and signify the end times. "And All Things Will End", the last song on WTF, is another reference to Exodus.
This is The first time I see someone reacts to beast and the harlot and did not talk or even notice anything about the real music because this is one of the best songs that had/have the greatest guitar riffs , solos and Drums
It's about REVELATIONS 18. I was surprised how many of their songs are Bible related.... CHAPTER 4 (Genesis) is another. And their Band Name also comes from Genesis
I remember reading a few articles about how often they were asked if they were a religious band and their answer was essentially "No, but the Bible is kinda metal AF"
This band, and this song is what started it all for me. Slipknot as well. But specifically a7x. I use to only listen to rap lol but I became friends with a kid in the neighborhood who was a couple years older than me and he showed me a7x, bullet for my valentine, atreyu, killswitch engage, underoath..and I never looked back haha You should check out Landmvrks “lost in a wave” or “death” 🙏🏼
I love songs like these. I don’t know if you know or not, but it’s about the story of Babylon and the book of Revelations. Another one they do that’s great is Chapter Four and it’s about the story of Cain and Abel
Wouldn’t make a difference in her comments cause this song is one of the best guitar rifffs and solos, shreddings and stuff …. But nothing about the real music just about the music video
A lot of A7X music videos cut out parts of the songs. Beast and the Harlot, Bat Country, Afterlife. All the music videos irritate me. Classics but cut out too much
You should definitely make a reaction to "buried alive". Typical A7X up and down and M.Shadows at his best! After Afterlive my favorite and the absolute favorite song of my 14 year old son!
are you going to go back to live at the lbc? I've suggested previously that you react to the whole concert so hopefully you can make that happen! I would especially react to it so you can re-listen to this song since the music video cut a few parts out.
Definitely need to do Higher from them one of their most underrated songs imo you should also check out let there be rock from ACDC the guitar work on that song in MENTAL

I have always believed they used the biblical verses about the whore of babel and the city of Babylon as an analogy for LA, a bit like Guns n Roses depicted the city in Welcome to the Jungle.
This song is biblical af. I love it. The story of the wh**e of babel. The ancient city of Babylon. This is what made me first fall in love with A7X. The songs were always so intricate and intelligent
A lot of people have no clue this song comes from revelations in the Bible.

The music video cuts out like legit 45 seconds of the song, watch the Live at the LBC version, the Rev is absolutely nuts on this track

The song was created in 2005, but the music video was uploaded years after.
Highly suggest Trashed and Scattered LIVE in New York. Matt´s vocals are out of this world.
this song talks about the fall of Babylon (from the bible) and how it looks like Hollywood
This music video awakened me in many ways when I was 12.

This one must definitely react.
the album version has a key change at the end
Ily so much for continuing to react to one of my favorite bands of all time
A7x has several sings retelling biblical stories. The best of which is "chapter 4", the story of cain and Abel

Beast and the harlot is a favorite because its on good ol guitar hero 2 (decent challenge song at that) just listening to it is incredible

Talking about his vocals, i wish you had listened to the album version
thankyou for reacting to A⁷x again...cant wait to see you react to gunslinger live performance in LBC
What I loved about this music video, it honestly felt like a concept for a metal gangster movie. 👀
This straight up revalations bible.
you should do the stage, its a really packed song
Welcome to early 2000s of Avenged sevenfold. 😂
Dang, I wish you had done the album version. It's much longer, has a great intro, and is just a better song in general
It's about corruption. She worked for the "Beast = band members" and they turned on her. Huge lesson there.
This was one of the first bands i ever got into on my metal journey way back in like 2006ish
As a 14 y/o avenged sevenfold fan, I can confirm i definitely fangirl over m. Shadows. (And literally every single member)

The song tells of the fallen city of Babylon and the beast and the harlot as told in the book of revelation in the Bible
