I love tetris, my partner loves sudoku. I don't like games w/a lot of backstory, my partner looooves in depth board games. This game looks like the perfect 2 player game for us! Thanks for sharing your review, super helpful when I'm trying to Christmas shop for something I don't know much about!.

This has become a favorite because it’s so easy to teach and play, is quick and strategic, and yeah the light theme helps. So far I’ve been playing on Tabletopia but am definitely getting a physical copy.

Yeah, had some folks rope me into a game of this at GENCON. This is seriously not a game that's normally up my alley and I ended up liking it pretty well. Goes to show that you should sometimes give games a chance that might not be in your wheelhouse. Great review Tom.

Sometimes the only way to "try" a game is to buy it. That's why I am cautious when purchasing. There are times you dont really know if you'll like a game until you try it and burn some cash if it doesnt work.

Looks interesting. Reminds me of Isle of Skye meets roll and write, minus the auction in IoS. I like how simple it is, but looks thinky enough to be interesting.

    This or Welcome To?

I think there is room for both as they play quite different, but I like Welcome To... just a bit more.

This is too fiddly for a simple roll and write. Will not play this again

Seems good to me, but I like meat on the bone in my roll and write. I like Fleet, La Granja, and Roll Iron Ages.

What part of this game do you find fiddly? Generally, when I use the word "fiddly", I'm talking about a mechanism that's physically awkward to do. Is that what you're saying? Or do you have a different definition?

@@PandaOfElastic Not OP and have never played the game, but it seems like there are a couple little rules that might feel fiddly. Also having more components than many roll and writes on the market could feel fiddly.

@@jflartner117 What little rules do you mean? The only thing that seems like it could be awkward (to me) would be passing stuff around when attacks happen. I, personally, wouldn't consider having more components to be inherently fiddly. Especially in this case where it's just cards. There are plenty of Roll and Writes out there with cards who have seen great success. Can't say I've heard anyone call Welcome To... fiddly.
