I have both edx and mt1 and they're both have their own traits, I prefer the EDX still. But EDX is way more open, good detailing and mids is great. Mt1 is more punchy, mids is somewhat not as great compared to edx, but it is not fatiguing to listen as its treble is more tamer in this one
It's good to have both. But, I regret purchasing CCA CA2. It's not better or worst than EDX just different tuned version of EDX that I don't particularly like
After i listened to my newly arrived mt1 it really blows my mind big diff.on sound quality over my edx. Mt1 beats edx 🔥 it sounds much refined than edx

You can use the straight-plug 2-pin cable but the C-pin cable (same 0.75mm pins, but in an angled housing, similar looking to the KZ/QKZ stock cable) will not work with EDX or other models where the socket body is recessed into the shell. The sheath on TRN is much thicker and won't fit in, and if you were to file it down, you'll find that the plug being overall much shorter, it just doesn't sit right.
I received the MT1 and i was not happy with the sound, really shrill and shouty. With my own retune, EDX still comes out as more fun. I really recommend the EDX instead, even unmodded.

I just bought two TRN MT1’s….eta 7/24….will come back to this review when I review them. I know $6 IEM so realistic expectations….but I got to believe a decent $15 balanced copper or silver cable, better tips and amp/DAP should?…..improve the sound. Did u do any of these upgrades?? For me the MT1 its a chill IEM, I use them for online meetings and listening to long EDM mixes. The included ear-tips were useless to me I couldn't get a good seal. I used QCY T1C tips on these to get a good seal and a KZ silver upgrade cable. The sound stage feels small and cramped for HZD gaming maybe it could work for casual games like NFS. I prefer the CCA CSN for HZD, it has more micro-details and the sound stage is wider plus its bass response is much better, making it more immersive and enjoyable. I am considering the CCA C12 for the BA drivers, do you recommend it compared to the CCA CSN? Like will the additional BAs increase imaging and sound stage?
Watching your channel is making me spend more and more hahaha i've already ordered a total of 3 IEM and so far have received one of them the ZSN PRO X and i cant wait to receive the other 2 the ZST X and after watching this the TRN MT1 is my 3rd purchase xD They are all so cheap and affordable how could i not!
TRN MT1. Well, you expect that from x2 the price. If you prefer warm, a bit woofy sound then try KZ EDX. If you prefer brighther, a more clarity one then try TRN MT1
@@barryallen4814 I like it better than my ZSN Pro and QKZ VK4 for music. But gaming wise, I think they perform better than the CST. CST has better detail retrieval and mids sounds more natural and forward compared to VK4. CST has more midbass thump, VK4 has more subbass. ZSN Pro on the other hand sounds more fatiguing to me after a while due to the sibilance. Some might not like the metallic kind of treble of CST, but I prefer it more than the ZSN Pro. The mids and vocals of the CST are really right on the spot for me.
This cable has similar socket to KZ ZS10 Pro, may I know if this cable is also compatible with that IEM? I might consider one of these for cable replacement.

I am very often impressed by what modern technology can achieve in a affordable format, but not having listened to any i find it hard to believe, do these and others like the vk4 really sound better than the buds bundled with iphones? Absolutely not discounting the possibility, just seems implausible to me tbh. Great review btw!
Yes they do. The imaging is maybe a bit better on some bundles because they are made for that home sound. These sound at least twice as good. I got blon 03 and they are better then my grado sr60 and other gear that costs a lot more if you are really pressing it. In of earphones these sound like they are worth 100 to 150 quid at least if I blinded tested if not more. You get the shure sound without the shure price on the Blons.
I have the EDX, i took a gamble due to low price, and they sound insanely good. Do give either of these a shot, not necessarily EDX, the others should be somewhat similar, you'll be surprised. They deliver an insane pressure without tending to sound muddy, it's real fun listening to music that way, i think they came up with a really high-excursion driver design with a large linear displacement, really unexpected, and i think these companies hit real gold there, though of course the acoustic enclosure tunings are somewhat different between them. Before that, i heard moderately priced in-ears with better or worse tuning, but they all had characteristic intermodulation distortion, the just ever so slightly muddy feel, so i would always use various on-ears instead which have less intermodulation, and these solve that, this is in a word INSANE. I do highly suggest you get one of the similar IEMs a try, you really don't have much to lose, and maybe you'll have a load of fun. The EDX were decent out of the box but i use them slightly re-tuned. I chose different tips that made them sound less shouty, and also punched out 4mm circles of medical plaster tape and covered the nozzle with them, also taming some presence region shoutiness, without affecting the top end much at all. That can also be part of the fun of owning cheap IEMs. And the top end extension is crazy, i can sinc brickwall lowpass an audio file at 16 KHz and i can hear a massive difference, so they do have an insanely wide response, which is another typical in-ear trouble where they'd pretty much have nothing up from 12KHz. The hype is real. If you're doubting, just get on it.
Kz zsn pro better for me if you comparing trn mt1. But if you want comparing other trn I think trn st1 can handle the kz zsn pro they both good compare to trn mt1

For the price there are much better IEMs. If you like KZ's sound signature probably you will like KZ ZST X. I also recommend you to buy both KZ EDX and TRN MT1. Those two IEMs combined costs the same as KZ ZSTX
How to fix stereo not working on android phone? when I am connected to PC it is working but when in phone it doesn't sound good and stereo is not working. I tried other earphones on my phone and their stereo is working.

Please if you could, include DB3 in the sound test. Bass is also quite dominant in the DB3, yet I find the vocals has a nice, forward and clearly separated presentation in the mix, with the tips used that is. I would like to compare their tonalities though. Cheers!
St1 they say fun sounding bass. DB3 - Balanced with a bit bass weight. Yet has a forward and clearly separated vocals in the mix, the music doesn't cover the vocals. The vocals have a clear center position and bass and instruments are on the sides. Consider also the tips used as it had a substantial diff. in my exp. I used KZ reversed stock tips (starline) and that made the vocals pop-out in the mix. Highs are not congested, has good extension but has cut-off on the airy treble. Soundstage is like studio setting, not too wide not too narrow. I say good for monitoring.
TRN CS2 is better, a hidden gem on a pile of cheap chi-fi IEMs. I always recommend them over mt1 or edx or any other kz/cca budget models. I love mine with final type e tips and trn t2 cable.
Even allowing for currency conversion, I'm not seeing these iems for anything near as low as $6 USD. Anyone have a link to where they are actually going for that price?
Aliexpress pricing is closer to 6$ without shipping really. But yeah there's been a price hike over the time but Aliexpress and taobao should be the cheapest really
@@lalcimo The female pin will be more vulnerable to damage like when you drop your IEMs to the floor as it has more strain to begin with. In short they will make the female pin more prone to break or crack. If that happens, your IEMs will be unusable unless you know how to replace the female pin by modding it. With QDC, it will be different. The male pin (from the cable) basically shields the female pin on the IEM. It can still break the female pin when you're dropping the IEMs but the damage will transfer to the male pin first. Depends on the IEMs themselves if they MUST have the QDC pin cables. For something like KZ ZSX, CCA C12, CCA C10 Pro, and TRN BA5, I think they must use QDC type cables. No regular 2 pin cables should be used on them. It is because they are not that cheap and it will be very costly if their female pins are broke. But for IEMs like TRN MT1, TRN ST1, and TRN ST2, it's okay to use 2 pin cables on them as they are still cheap to replace them if they break.
I have cs1 and st1 and replaced their eartips with my sony eartips and they sound much better now. I recommend the original sony silicone tips. The fake ones are just plain rubber, hard and harsh to the ears

DB3 - Balanced with a bit bass weight. Yet has a forward and clearly separated vocals in the mix, the music doesn't cover the vocals. The vocals have a clear center position and bass and instruments are on the sides. Consider also the tips used as it had a substantial diff. in my exp. I used KZ reversed stock tips (starline) and that made the vocals pop-out in the mix.
Highs are not congested, has good extension but has cut-off on the airy treble. Soundstage is like studio setting, not too wide not too narrow. I say good for monitoring.

TRN CS2 is better, a hidden gem on a pile of cheap chi-fi IEMs. I always recommend them over mt1 or edx or any other kz/cca budget models.
I love mine with final type e tips and trn t2 cable.

@@bonktoryu203 a lot of budget iems are v-shape sounding like kz or cca. Cs2 is more balanced, mt1 is the brighter version of cs2.

If you're willing to buy it yeah, it is a budget chifi iem. So you're buying it with an increase of €1.7 or so, still affordable

trn mt1 sounds muddy compared to kz zsn pro x, both are very nice but i recommend kz zsn pro x since it is much more clear and the soundstage is nice.

QDC of course. But 2 pin will fit as well but not recommended. Unless you won't mind to make it last shorter

@@lalcimo The female pin will be more vulnerable to damage like when you drop your IEMs to the floor as it has more strain to begin with. In short they will make the female pin more prone to break or crack. If that happens, your IEMs will be unusable unless you know how to replace the female pin by modding it.
With QDC, it will be different. The male pin (from the cable) basically shields the female pin on the IEM. It can still break the female pin when you're dropping the IEMs but the damage will transfer to the male pin first.
Depends on the IEMs themselves if they MUST have the QDC pin cables. For something like KZ ZSX, CCA C12, CCA C10 Pro, and TRN BA5, I think they must use QDC type cables. No regular 2 pin cables should be used on them. It is because they are not that cheap and it will be very costly if their female pins are broke. But for IEMs like TRN MT1, TRN ST1, and TRN ST2, it's okay to use 2 pin cables on them as they are still cheap to replace them if they break.

I have cs1 and st1 and replaced their eartips with my sony eartips and they sound much better now. I recommend the original sony silicone tips. The fake ones are just plain rubber, hard and harsh to the ears

You can also try trn's foam tips they are pretty good but they can easily be torn.
