Thank you, Ms B! I struggle with anxiety, and am the queen of leaving artwork unfinished. It's funny how it's the little things that do affect our brains. I'm going to commit to committing from here on out! And such a fun design! Shalom! 🫶🙏🕊
Shalom to you. I am so happy you practiced with me and I hope you’ll keep doing some practice with me in the future. You’ll notice the difference once you start to finish everything you start, it is really beneficial for anxiety and more. Thank you so much! 😊
❤ love this. Glad i clicked. I was curious. It's organic and flowy and i have really found solace in "doodle yoga" (thats what i call "tangling") it helps. Appreciate you sharing!
I wanted to thank you for the part where you explained about what feelings could be experienced when we finish a piece or leave it un finished. I have so many unfinished pieces and very high anxiety and no feelings of accomplishment. Thanks again for this insight.✿
Thank you for sharing your experience with me. My advice to you is to try to finish every project you start, even when it is not going in the direction that you wanted or expected. Make your projects on smaller surfaces, so you won’t feel overwhelmed by them, and trust the process. You’ll notice a shift into your feelings toward your art practices and beyond. Thank you so much for watching my video and practicing with me 😊
I rly enjoyed the pattern and the presentation of the information. It is just very calming and very satisfying to see it coming together. Thank you for sharing!
I totally agree with you about the slow process. If i watch something and they speed it up it then makes me feel like I have to be quicker too, even though I don’t. it is subconscious. People say we can slow it down but that then makes it jerky so I don’t like it. So watching something quietly with a soft voice speaking now and then and no music is great.
I couldn’t agree more. We are always so busy and rushing, why should we tell people that even art can must done in 10 minutes? We are checking boxes. Sometimes we need more time, and maybe we have to divide the video in three parts and complete it in three days instead of doing it in one session, and that is totally fine and much better than rushing or not doing it at all. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!
Thank you for your positive aspect on the reality of may look complicated to do but give it a go it is not difficult. Thank you, that motivates me to try 😊
This was lovely , I felt anxious and couldn’t sleep so I put on TH-cam and saw this. Quickly got out my pencil and sharpie and followed your steps. Your soothing voice and manner claimed me down. Following along was so easy and calming for me, not rushed and you mentioned this, it made so much sense in the moment and now I have a rough picture that I can practice in my own time with the memory of slowing down, being calm and enjoying art. Thank you so very much for this came at the right time. Very much appreciated and a new subscriber gained. ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this comment with me. I am so happy that practicing with me helped you to feel calm and better. Art is a powerful tool, we need to learn how to use it, and I’ll do my best to keep teaching and sharing with you all. 😊🙏
I am glad TH-cam suggested my channel to you. I hope to see you here again in the future. I publish one video per week, three four shorts and I am working on some special content.
Beautiful, my mom has this neighbors, very friendly but they don’t get ANYTHING about art (or any other creative thing I suppose). Any and all these types of art that can be done in a monochrome black is labeled as dark of the depressive kind lol. Quite curious what their comments will be if I ever succeed at making a monochrome black watercolor painting of an animal portret of a cat bathing in sunlight, a horse galloping, a cow looking at you, you name it. Zentangles are very dark for her especially, always get the comment that I must have been in a very dark place mentally when I drew those 😂 But I love them, they don’t need a story, they can be just pretty and even ugly, we have been engaging our minds and motor skills, doesn’t need to be anything else. Although… This one is simple to do but enough intricacy to stand out as unique so that’s always more fun ❤ Sidenote: I wish I could do this type of art in this amount of time, it always baffles me how much “normal (healthy) hands & arms” can do 😅 but I love that this isn’t speed up, even when people/YT’ers specify how much it is sped up, it’s not really something to accurately gauge mentally, at least, I don’t think it is. So this is especially helpful in my personal situation even though it really doesn’t matter lol
Thank you so much for sharing this comment with me. People like to label things, Art included. Don’t let them change your artistic style and experience. If you like to do black and white or monochromatic artworks, go for it! For some people they’ll look “dark”, for others sophisticated and beautiful. Also, even in the case that your artworks are expressing a sense of darkness, what is wrong with that? We all have some darkness and challenging experiences that we want to express through Art. Let’s have them flowing. Art is much more than pretty pictures. I’ll surely will do more black and white Zentangle pieces, so I hope you’ll keep practicing with me and embrace the darkness 😂
Thank you for sharing this this. I love art and have been in a rut for a while now. I've also been struggling slowing down and being mindful. I watched your video again, pausing a few times along the way. I am so relaxed after a long day at work. Thank you.
I am so glad it was beneficial to you like it was for me. I am very busy and I tend to be always up and running from one errand to another, one duty to another, and so on… art helps me to finally focus on myself, my mind, and my wellbeing. Thank you so much for sharing this message 😊
I just found your channel and your exercises are excellent warmups for me. I made this several times...some with just diagonal stripes and coloring in the larger or smaller spaces...just playing. Thank you for sharing.
Love this!! Thank you so much.My granddaughter loves doing this sort of art with me.I;ll need to get her her own m media journal so we can practice your art together! This is so calming to me, I think we all need something like this in our lives. Again, many thanks!!
Your granddaughter is very lucky to have the opportunity to practice art with her grandma! The idea of you two sharing these creative moments makes me so happy. I lost my beloved nonna eight years ago and she is with me all the time in everything I do. I treasure every single moment I spent with her. Thank you 😊🙏
Thank you so much! You cannot believe how much this kind of mindful art practices helped me to resettle and distress. I hope they will do the same for you 😊
I’m going to try this but inside of the circles where the lines intersect I want to round them off so the whole picture looks curvy. I love the slow smooth method of your videos!
Thank you for this video. I appreciate that you did not speed it up. I enjoyed how you talked and explained things. This was so simple and easy to understand. I just found your channel and subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos! ❤
I just come across your video, thank you for sharing it was very relaxing. I will try this it seems like a good way to unwind. I have subscribed to your channel. God bless you
Yes you can, you have to first create the design with the pencil, then paint it with watercolors and then, after the paint is dry, you’ll outline everything with the black ultra fine marker and you’ll create the pattern with the tiny curved lines in the gap between the organic oval shapes. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching and practicing with me! 😊
I’ll try my best to Position the camera on a different angle next time. This is a learning process for me as well as I am not a professional TH-camr. Thank you so much for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
Yesterday during my Art Summer Camp at school, I decorated a big popsicle stick with paint and then I created a pattern with an ultra fine black marker. All the kids told me that it reminded them of Dr.Seuss! I think that there is a subconscious reference to it. Maybe our creativities work the same 🤷♀️😁
My version of the drawing didn't turn out as well as I figured it would ... the pen I used was too aggressive for the paper and scratched the surface building up paper fibers on the ball tip and overly blurring the curved lines between the spherical bubbles
Try with another mixed media paper as heavy as 300 gsm. You’ll notice the number specified on the paper pads or journals. The heavier the paper the better is the result. For what concern markers, you can try with the Sakura Micron markers. They come with different tips, they are definitely more expensive than sharpies and other brands, but extremely durable, precise, and delicate. Also, and this will come with practice, do not add too much pressure in your hand. Thank you so much for your support, I hope you’ll keep practicing with me 😊
Thanks for the feedback, others made me notice that too. I’ll try to orient my camera differently for future videos. This is a learning process for me as well and I am grateful for your support.
It is definitely a great training for patience 😅 I thought I was doing to lose it… but this is why I love these types of practices, they push our limits and teach us perseverance. I hope you liked to watch it though 😉
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll try, I promise. I have the light and the phone above me on the right side, I’ll try to orient the phone differently next time. I really appreciate your comment.
I am sorry it disappointed you. The curved lines inside the gaps should give an idea of movement and rhythm to the piece. The contrast between the curvy line and the straight lines also reinforces the optical difference between the two implied layers. Thanks for watching and sending your feedback. 😊
My videos tend to be long because as a teacher I know how important is to explain processes and steps well and carefully to make everyone, regardless of their skills and experience, understand and enjoy what they are doing. You can always speed up the video and it will make it shorter. Good quality art takes time 😊
The crisscross lines are meant to build the bottom layer, and the curved lines inside the gaps between the oval shapes should add the optical illusion of tri-dimensionality. I am sorry it didn’t work for you 🤷♀️

Thank you so much for your talk . .really really great *therapy*
Thank you for listening 😊
I am left handed and appreciate another person that I can follow.
This is so fun! I love how accessible this is to anybody
Thanks! That is exactly my intention, so I am very happy that it is perceived that way. Keep sending feedback 😊

Loved 😍 this technique! New sub! Love ❤️ from Texas
cool
Very nice.. could you paint with watercolor and still keep the illusion?
Yes you can, you have to first create the design with the pencil, then paint it with watercolors and then, after the paint is dry, you’ll outline everything with the black ultra fine marker and you’ll create the pattern with the tiny curved lines in the gap between the organic oval shapes. Great🎉
Love it

Love watching your hand gets in the way so how do you see what you draw? I love watching just can’t see design
I’ll try my best to Position the camera on a different angle next time. This is a learning process for me as well as I am not a professional TH-camr. Thank you so much for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
💜
For some strange reason it makes me think of Dr. Zeus
Yesterday during my Art Summer Camp at school, I decorated a big popsicle stick with paint and then I created a pattern with an ultra fine black marker. All the kids told me that it reminded them of Dr.Seuss! I think that there is a subconscious reference to it. Maybe our creativities work the same 🤷♀️😁
I think you meant to say Dr Seuss
@@JJGutierrez-ob5vc I am sure they did. Sometimes phones have a mind on their own 😂🙄
My version of the drawing didn't turn out as well as I figured it would ... the pen I used was too aggressive for the paper and scratched the surface building up paper fibers on the ball tip and overly blurring the curved lines between the spherical bubbles

Very nice video going to try asap.. but made a side view with camera, difficult to observe your drawings. God bless thanks for sharing
Thanks for the feedback, others made me notice that too. I’ll try to orient my camera differently for future videos. This is a learning process for me as well and I am grateful for your support.
grazie, e ciao tutti 2
Prego e ciao a te 🤗
I would not have the patience to do this😬
It is definitely a great training for patience 😅 I thought I was doing to lose it… but this is why I love these types of practices, they push our limits and teach us perseverance. I hope you liked to watch it though 😉
You are lefthanded, so you should place your camera on you right side, because we see only your hand and not what you do.
‘Could’
or ‘might try’ as an alternative to ‘should’. I think so too!
I relate to her more bc she’s a lefty like me so I don’t miss what I don’t see!(bars)
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll try, I promise. I have the light and the phone above me on the right side, I’ll try to orient the phone differently next time. I really appreciate your comment.
I don't know what video y'all were watching cuz I could see everything they drew.
Could see it just fine. Nice work and relaxing to watch
and what exactly is the ‘optical illusion’? i can’t detect it anywhere
I am sorry it disappointed you. The curved lines inside the gaps should give an idea of movement and rhythm to the piece. The contrast between the curvy line and the straight lines also reinforces the optical difference between the two implied layers. Thanks for watching and sending your feedback. 😊
What is the big deal here? I did this in junior hig in the '70s. It was called doodling
That’s exactly what it is! Isn’t cool? 😎 I’ve always love the ‘70s and the op art movement.
this video is at least twice as long as it needs 2 b
No, it's shown in real time, to illustrate how long it actually does take to do this. You can skip through it if you want.
My videos tend to be long because as a teacher I know how important is to explain processes and steps well and carefully to make everyone, regardless of their skills and experience, understand and enjoy what they are doing. You can always speed up the video and it will make it shorter. Good quality art takes time 😊
I couldn't explain it any better. Thank you @burghbrat3319!
What a waste of my time. I don't get any optical illusion. What were those criss cross lines for in the beginning?.......
The crisscross lines are meant to build the bottom layer, and the curved lines inside the gaps between the oval shapes should add the optical illusion of tri-dimensionality. I am sorry it didn’t work for you 🤷♀️
