    That's a cool gadget! You could hook it to the water inlet when at a park to see how much water you use in the shower to establish how long your water will last in the desert. Cool

    Cool gadget. I like the idea of connecting that the the demand side of the pump to know exactly what I have used from my fresh water tank. Thumbs up, Lou.

    Right on again, Ray. That meter really came in handy when I was boondocking with access to a spigot via my water Bandit! Knowing exactly how much water I put in My freshwater tank allowed for quick and efficient water usage.

    This is a great little product! I can now see how much water I am pushing into the black tank for rinsing/flushing and I can know how much water I am adding to my water tank without having to run back and forth into the RV to see the water level. If I am at 1/3 or 2/3 at the inside meter, I then know how much I should add through the water bay. No more guessing, this little item has already saved me a lot of time over the past week that I have had it. Thank you for the video.

    Been using the same one for a few months now. I find it handy when filling the tank to guesstimate how much time I have do do other stuff before checking back in to not waste water overflowing.

    I'm glad it does litres. Here in the UK when I watch the US RV channels I have to open up my conversion application so I know what they are talking about. The US gallon isn't even the same as the old imperial gallon we used when I was a child.

    It works perfect for flushing your black tank! Used it earlier today to flush mine by myself, all you need to know is how many gallons / liters it holds. Now the wife doesn’t have to be looking down the toilet with a flashlight and bang on the wall when the “shitters full”!

    I bought one after watching a video where a guy mentioned overfilling his black tank. I also bought a mechanical water timer so if you know how long it takes to fill a tank you can set the timer & walk away.
    I haven't even picked up my trailer yet - hopefully next Thursday. It's a highly customized 12' x 7' mini toy hauler built by Dunesport Toy Haulers in Mesa, AZ. They're the only company I found who'd build exactly what I want.

    I have one that I bought on Ebay for around six bucks. No name on it but looks and works exactly the same. I bought mine so I could know how many gallons I was putting back in the tanks. Say ten for fresh during travel in between stops and at least five gallons back in the black tank after cleaning. Nothing worse than using the black tank with no water in it.
    Thanks for sharing Ray.

    I have an all metal/brass analog unit for my toy hauler. My hauler can carry 120 gallons of water, but I don't fill it all the way for just a weekend for wife n I. So this helps me control water level. I can also see that the water is actually flowing in. Also if I'm pulling 2 or 3 days in a row I don't fill the water all the way unless it will be hard filling when I arrive at destination. Has turned out to be a must have for us.

      I have read other people say, not here, that you should always fill your freshwater tank to capacity so you don't get any stability problems when driving with water sloshing around in the tank. I can't say I've ever experienced any problem, have you?

    • @LoveYourRV

      Handling wise I can't feel the difference and my tank is at the far end of the fifth wheel. The only time I feel the difference is pulling a steep grade, a little harder with a full tank versus empty.

    Thanks for the video, I have a black tank flush system. I want to use it to put back 1 gallon or so of water back in, just before i put the happy camper or Borax potion. I often forget to close the black tank lever and lose my potions, 😹😂 this way I will think of it and won't have to hold the toilet pedal and try to figure out how much water is falling in while the smell is coming up! Also sometimes between 2 spots I want to put an exact amount of water in the Fresh water. Of course going in and out of the trailer to check is out! Thank you!!

    Personally, I would never use the same anything for black water flush vs potable water hookup or fill. That includes this device. I would have one for black water flush and one for my potable water and I would have the two units clearly marked so there was no doubt as to which is which.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luckily my black water flush has a check valve so the water only flows one way, it also sits about 3 feet above the black tank.

    hi Ray, I bought one a week ago, but I see It doesn´t measure automatically, I put it at the exit of a water tank to measure the onsumption of a commercial premises. If it's in baterry save mode, ando there is flow, does it turn on automatically only to start reading? or only when I turn it on manually it starts to measure?... I asked the guy sold to me, buy he doesn´t know even how it works... May be if you had used it for a long, you may have the answer... Regards

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure it does manual or automatically when it senses flow, I'll check. I don't really use it for long periods. Top digit is recent amount and bottom is accumulated amount. Here is a different brand manual, but same instructions - www.p3international.com/manuals/p0550_manual.pdf

    Apologize if already asked but when the water is turned of and then later turned back on does it continue the measure from where you left off at 24.9 liters or does it reset back to zero? I want to know how much water I used during a day long project. Thank you Canada is beautiful.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Long-Term memory: If there is no water flow for about half an hour, the visual display disappears, but the volume values are remembered by the electronics. When flow resumes, the display comes on again, so long-term total volume recordings are possible.

    Ray,
    On the amazon description it says you can switch back and forth between Gallons and Liters. Thought that was a pretty cool tip. You only mentioned it counting in Gallons but I'd imagine that being Canadian you might like to also use the Liters setting too. However you didn't mention it being able to read both. Just wondering if you experienced that feature. Thanks again for the great little video.

    Great idea but really should be all metal. I've had several and they all break. Do you know a metal version of this available anywhere? Unless you're always extremely careful these plastic ones snap so easily. Basically you can't mount it to the house wall spigot due to the weight of the hose or if someone accidentally pulls on the hose a tiny bit, they break. And they aren't cheap, now about US $20 dollars and even more. The plastic ones shouldn't cost more than $5 USA bucks.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't come across any comparable metal ones but recently bought a little better plastic one that comes with quick connects amzn.to/3IMpV9q For my RVing application then work fine. Cheers, Ray

    I wonder how accurate it is at different flow rates. Did you test for that? It's important to know if used to measure variable and intermittent water usages. As installed on your RV water pump to measure usage over time.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, haven't had a chance, I just got it but being it's a spinning impeller in there I would imagine it should stay pretty accurate, just spins faster and slower depending on the flow rate and the microprocessor chip figures it out.

  • @n0aye4

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mine's not scientifically accurate but a lot better than your results. I tested it on my 30-gallon water bladder and 60-gallon freshwater tank and it was pretty close. Maybe you got a defective one. They are cheaply made plastic out of China so I imagine quality control isn't great.
